- 3D Printed Fallout Helmet
This helmet took me just over a month and bit to complete. This is the helmet for either the t60 or t45 power armour from the video game, 'fallout'.

Man needs a whole lot more subs, brilliant stuff there
This is the best fallout helmet ever, but i'm sure that that headlamp is from the T-51, not from the T-45. there's a mistake hehe
Haha thanks alot!
I've played a little Fallout, but can't say I know much about the armour, so you may be right there 😄
But I just enjoy making things. 😁
It isn't a replica prop, so I'm not too bothered about it 😉
Check out my new video where I make the MK1 Ironman Helmet!
@@J.watkins_01 Ok dude i hope you continue doing these videos because theyre awesome
even with a few mistakes i noticed. Its a really cool Fallout helmet
Looks amazing
Looks great!
Wow you deserve way more sub than you have! New sub here! Great job i love fallout
Thank you! Love the feedback! New video coming soon. Thor's Hammer :) ;)
Very good build dude gg
Man that looks absolutely amazing! I've been looking around for some files to print my own for a while now, any idea where I can look?
Thanks Alot! I believe that the file I used isn't available anymore unfortunately, but I get all my files from thingiverse. So have a browse, hopfully you'll find something :)
@@J.watkins_01 alright thanks! most of the thingiverse files give 404 not founds these days, but I'll keep digging :)

I found the files I used! Here's the link if u want to download them from my drive :)
that is amazing.
Please do a video on just painting, rusting, and weathering something like the power armor. I’m building a set for dragon con
great job man. I'd add more weathering, dirt on the tubes, make the metal/paint less reflective.
Thanks Alot! That's a fair point. I did forget to weather the tubes :/ I'll learn for next time!
Awesome build kudos!
Thanks :) :)
Nice mora, but you need a belt sander. 👍
Thank you!
And did u mean *palm sander? Haha. But yes, it would be very helpful!
I’m printing the same helmet it’s bigger than what I thought
Cool build you should build more stuff with the 3d printer
I'm planning on making some more. Just haven't had the time recently. Mjonir (Thor's hammer) is underway ;)
Grüße aus Deutschland^^ nice Work i need some 3d printer
Thank You. Really appreciate the comment :) ;)
Looks awesome!!!
How long did it take to print the first, larger, portion of the helmet?
And on what printer was it?
Thanks alot! :) Glad u like it! I used the Anet A8 3d printer, bit I can't remember exactly how long it took, it was a while ago now. The main body of the helmet was made up from about 12 pieces in total. Each piece took between 4 and 6 hours to print roughly :)
hi dude i love the vid got a sub from me i was just wondering what model of the anet a8 it was and what filament did you use. i am looking at making halo weapons and collectible.
mikey Jones Thanks alot mate. Glad u enjoy the vids :) The printer is the original Anet A8. Tbh, I thought there was only one model. I have upgraded it and made improvements to it, so it probably looks quite different. I use different 1.75 filament every time. Pretty much where ever is cheapest. Usually an eBay shop.
But yeah, sounds good. Hope the halo props turn out great for u ;)
thanks dude looking to do electrical work with it so if it does might send you one. just out of curiosity i seen you had another printer in the background what printer is that bud.
@@mikeyjones3060 Sounds great!
I've only got 1 printer. Anet A8.
What do you use for aging?
For this helmet, I used dry brushing a mixer of paints and wiping off excess.
Now I used a mixer of air brushing and dry brushing.
I want that helmet
Let’s talk about the printer. Is there upgrades to this printer? I was looking at this printer you used. It goes for $150. I was warned that it’s not the best and I should buy printers upwards of $300+ plus. Thank you for your time. I’m new to this so details are a plus.
Yeah, so I brought the Anet A8 for around that price. £140 ish. And I have printed the basic upgrades for it to improve the quality a bit. And I am adding more safety features to prevent fires etc. As my first beginner 3d printer, I love it. However, if you have the money to spend, I would definitely recommend getting the best printer you can afford. With the A8, you can only upgrade it so much, but you will simply never beat the quality of a better, more expensive printer.
If you can afford it, buy a better printer. CR-10 possibly. If not, the A8 is still a competitive budget printer.
Hope this helps :)
Dude I would buy this from you if I can I need a power armor helmet so badly--
Free sub too
Haha, your not the first person to say that. Thanks!
Did u use any supports in the base of helmet
Nope. I managed with no supports. The plastic sagged a little, bit it is the inside of the helmet, and I cleaned it up. I did use a brim to help hold it to the bed though.
do you still have the files for this?? looked everywhere and cannot find them,, great video too.. Subbed now :)
Thanks alot! :)
Unfortunately the helmet was removed from Thingiverse because apparently they were stolen files. I thus removed the download link from the description of the video.
I wouldn't want to distribute any stolen files, so I can't give them to you unfortunately, sorry :(
But thanks again for the sub! Check out my recent videos on Thor's hammer, and iron man MK1 helmet. :)
thingiverse link goes to a file page for the X0-1 helmet, which was stolen files.
Ah ok. Thanks for letting me know. I've removed the link.
@@J.watkins_01 no problem. I read the comments on the thingiverse page and noticed the original owner calling out the poster. hopefully someone puts the t-45 files back up before the 76 craze ends, since bethesda had it taken down due to its reference in the new game.
Hey, I got your 3d models, thanks a lot, which kind of scale i have to use ? 1:1 ?
Thanks a lot.
I can't take the credit for the files. I didn't make them ;) But glad u like them :) and yep, they should already be the correct size for u to print. I didn't change the scale to print mine.
:)
Can you list the materials used in this project?
The basics are: About 2kgs printer plastic, car body filler, Spray primer, flexible pipe, epoxy resin glue, spray paint and colours for weathering.
@@J.watkins_01 Thanks!
No problem!
How many of each part did you have to make? The instructions aren't very clear on thingiverse
I only needed to print one of each. I just used the CAD files as reference. I didn't use the instructions, if there are any.
If you are making your own, just print all the pieces, and it should be pretty simple what goes where.
Sry I'm not much help :/ ;)
@@J.watkins_01 thanks for the reply! That's perfectly clear. I've printed some things in the past that require duplicates, that's why I wasn't sure, and with such a huge print I didn't want to chance it
Anyone got the link to work? It led me to files for X-01 helmet instead. I just got the A8 and was thinking of doing this project. Help?
I see your problem. I have just tried the link as well, and it takes you to the right page, but I believe the files have been removed. They were also on myminifactory and aren't on there anymore either.... www.myminifactory.com/it/object/fallout-3-t45-d-power-armour-helmet-15253
Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to help because they aren't my files :( :( Sorry
@@J.watkins_01 I think it was because the person took someone else'e work and never gave the original owner credit. Do you happen to still have the files? :P. Regardless thanks for the reply :)
No problem :)
And I believe I still have them, yes. How would I get them to you?
@@J.watkins_01 If you do, you can send it to this email ikhwan.anm@gmail.com. Much appreciated :).
@@ikhwannainy2383 yep, no problem. I will send them when I can :) ;)
Hello do you have files?
I need them for my cosplay
Thanks
I was wandering, why is the file download unavailable, what printer do tou use and where can i find a similar download file,or where can i commission one
Printer is the Anet A8.
And Thingiverse will have similar files.
Does yours get warm inside when you wear it to go food shopping?
😆😆😂haha nice
Make a full set?
Haha. However much I would love to do that. Atm, it would be to expensive on my budget. I would also probably want a bigger printer, like a cr10 with a larger print volume. This would save alot of time. But maybe some point in the future :) ;)
is there a tutorial for building this?
Unfortunately there isn't. Sry
@@J.watkins_01 was it hard to figure out how it goes to gather
The CAD files allow you to view the helmet as one complete model made up from the individual pieces. So it was very simple to figure out what goes where.
I used Meshmixer to import the files and view them all together.
:) :)
@@J.watkins_01 what 3d printer did you use to print the helmet
@@datrandomdugggy5537Anet A8 :) Worth a look.
what filament do you use im buying my first 3d printer and don't know anything yet lol
The cheapest filament I can get my hands on. I usually browse eBay for some around £12. Unbranded filament. Works a treat, even though it's cheap!
What printer are you using?
Anet A8
James Watkins thank you! Great build by the way
Would this be possible with an ender 3?
Yeah for sure! If the print bed size is different, then the model may need slicing a bit more, but the ender 3 would definitely be able to! 👍
