- Riding my KTM 125 around the track with my buddies then this happened... Crashed head first on this double jump into the mud pit!

ANSWER: For those coming down to the comments to guess what happened - A reed petal of my VRorce4R reeds basically exploded. The bike was running weird all day but I didn't even think about reeds. I guess it had been chipping during the day until it finally just kinda fell apart right before that jump. The reeds had about 30 hours on them and I didn't realize you need to replace these things so frequently... After replacing the reeds the bike is back to running normal 👍 I'll include a picture of the destroyed reeds in my next motovlog 😭
I had the same problem on my Ktm 150 I sucked a reed and just bogs out and supposedly it’s pretty known to happen
While it is considered normal maintenance to replace reeds, the stock KTM reeds are known to be junk. They recently switched from sourcing Vforce reeds to making them in house. Vforce reeds will last 10X longer and give you more power.
@@andybj4091 Re-read my post :) The reeds that were destroyed at 30 hours were VForce4R.
What's a reed? I'm currently on a 300 2 stroke suzuki from some time long ago so that sounds like alien tech to me lol
V force is know for there reeds to chip and brake it’s happened a couple times to me so I personally will only run boyson and I’ve never had any issues with them

Switch air box covers I mix 50:1 and the vented cover helps a lot more. Use that closed cover in the woods though. If you don’t have the vented cover I suggest trying that. I just keep it in high end of powerband shifting through gears and it ironed it out for me.
My bike runs fantastic normally, but this ride my vforce4r reeds decided they were done. One of the petals basically exploded.

i remember i jumped to the side of a 60 table (this is in practice) and on the side of the table there were thorn bushes so i bailed off the bike in the air and the bike landed in bushes and my friend just kept going lap after lap watching me struggle to get the bike out

I got a RM125 and I am having a ton of problems wringing the power out when its under load, I am suspecting a jetting issue with my recent move to high elevations. I am wondering if it can be something as simple as a change in the temperature causing a jetting issue? great content dude, I got LOT of work to do to my channel! ;) btw, just subbed to your buddy, the best part of Enduro Riding is to have friends like that!
Yeah different temperatures cause the bikes to run differently. I got a Lectron carb and the bike runs really well all the time! My issue in this video was because my Vforce4R reeds basically exploded lol
That was a crazy crash I hope everything’s good but I’m not a 2 stroke expert but it kinda sounded like something to do with the reeds since you are at high rpm alot

Bro me and my dad ride at this same place and my dad was going over the same jump and he tried to roll the jump bc he didn’t know it was an actual jump then he plummeted just like u lol ( he’s the reason for the don’t roll jumps sign ) I’m not kidding u can ask the lady at the little shack

All mechanical issues aside. Had you pre run the course at a slower speed to survey the conditions? I’m just older and more cautious. That sign could be bigger and bolder as well! Glad you are OK ! Stay safe.

Exact same thing happens to my Honda every few months, bogs down with no power, but doesn’t shut off completely. I still don’t know what causes it
That's odd man. My issue was the reeds were bad and chipped up, so specific to a 2 stroke. I didn't even realize I was suppose to replace them frequently 😂
@@DerekHallman You got it figured out without hurting yourself or the bike so that’s all that matter. This video makes me want to sort out my problem haha. Would it make sense that it seems to happen when I’m low on fuel? I don’t mean close to empty but maybe a little under half
You should really be harder on that clutch, it wouldn’t have solved this problem lol, but it’ll get you more drive out of the corners. Hopefully you can ride a gear higher, shift less, and hold a little more speed once you master slipping the clutch.
Please explain slipping the clutch as I don't ride.

I have no idea what the problem is. I’d start with the easy stuff first though like fuel and spark. It’s hard to troubleshoot a bike I can’t touch.

hahaha fuel was the first thing I check when we drug it out of the pit. It was on and had a full tank! My reeds actually chipped and said bye bye 😂

I have zero 2 stroke experience but it seems like a carb issue like the bike wasn't getting enough air so either jetting or air fuel ratio was off

well i had the same problem and it was a small pin from the fuse box that fell out. i put it back in and it was perfectly fine

Any tips on jumping dirt bikes
I think it had something to do with u leaning out the bike and it caused the motor to run less air or less fuel which made the motor to get hot and weld to the piston cylinder. I did they same thing I ran it to lean and it locked up. I got told it was with reeds cuz it focuses ur air and fuel.
