2)Rodgers didn't pull it out of thin air. the whole thing started when a random internet person doctored the photo to put "IMMEL" on there, presumably to fool with his friend named Pimmel. but then it got picked up on the internet, and then Rodgers was simply repeating it.
3)jokes ARE "made up stuff". if they were true stories, they wouldn't be jokes. if it's "disparaging stuff that can ruin someone's reputation", then HELLO point the finger right back at Kimmel for doing that for a living! there's no way you can spin this so it isn't absolute hypocrisy on Jimmy's part.

I agree so much with what you said. You can never take back your words or actions, but just acknowledging it after the fact and apologizing for it is the first step. I have a couple people no longer in my life that I need to apologize to and I hope I have the courage and the opportunity to do so.
