It's because in Vietnam, badminton is just a sport for entertainment. some impressive play here. but despite great athleticism most smashes are fairly flat and there is little variation or creativity in the attacks. the flat game here shows the best skill
powerful attacks, and superb defenses.. but, ain't see any trickshots, placing and etc. to be the best player, you need good attack and defense, but to be a legend, u need a good trick shot that will make your name to be searched in the "search box" and be remembered.
many pros stay on top because they play simply and drastically,lee/wang won the olympic with just full power smash is an example.Playing trickshot or deception at high speed double match is really hard because your brain have to process faster than the opponent. And would likely break the attack rhythm and may give chance for the opponent to counter attack if the trickshot is too slow. That why many pro doubles play simple but only few players like kevin sanjaya sukamuljo, hendra setiawan or yuta watanabe stood out as players like those 3 could easily perform trickshot at high speed and still keep consistent with the game

there is no choice but smashing in men's doubles. deception will defenitely slower than pushing and attacking. one thing u should remember: speed is the key to win in men's doubles
Probably their national champs or something, these pairs would be get murder at world tour level by world class pairs from Indonesia,Japan,Korea and China
These guys have a lot of energy as the young ought to, but they are spending it too much on flashy shots with a lack of angles and variety. Also shot choice and decision making could be improved.
They are semi-pro players. Their skills are impressive because they often play with the national pros. A unique characteristic of Vietnamese badminton is that the prize of domestic professional tournaments is lesser than some amateur tournaments. Therefore, many Vietnamese pros have played those amateur tournaments for money (Their national team's salary are desperately low). It benefits the amateurs, not the pros.

Red’s partner is obviously the best among the 4. Crazy speed & agility
Yeh, I believe he is second ranked mixed doubles player in Vietnam. This is just an amateur competition tho.
True and red is the weakest...he could easily be targeted but alas! Only dumb smashes...
That too towards his partner
The bowl cut guy on the other team has the best smashes though. He controlled a lot of the game more than anyone else.
