At the point in my life where I'm ready for it 🤙
im havin it!!!
I just made it here, the journey was long and hard
I'm so scared...don't know if I'll make it
I’m definitely not ready for it but I’m going to go home, try to learn it anyway, and miserably fail as I always do with most of these shred songs. I can not shred. Maybe I’ll dedicate next year to shred only. I got decent at bluegrass. But I love metal.
I love how much Uli doesn't give a fuck, 'lets put the solo right at the start of the fucking song'
ya man, sounds like megadeth, do whatever, guitar first ......
I was 13 when a guy came to my place with the "Left Hand Path" album by the swedish death metal band Entombed. the first song goes off and start with a solo. The guy say to me as the solo play "Listen! All Satanist bands play backwards so they have the solo at the start of the song".
@@1gbayfisher-Yup, guitar first. 💯%.

Dude you choose the best solos. It seems like you and I have extremely similar tastes in music. Uli Jon Roth is awesome. I consider myself quite a metalhead, and I first heard this song years ago. Ever since I've basically considered it my favorite guitar solo of all time. This is probably the closest any one musician has come to playing the "perfect" rock/metal guitar solo.
I agree. The best solo's are from the 70's indeed! Page Roth Blackmor Van Halen can't beat them.
Rush Lavila strangiato live at pinkpop, the video intro shows alexs mashed finger, listen loud
@@DoHoeijmans good stuff came out of the 90’s too! I mean, just listen to the “Painkiller” Glenn Tipton solo by Judas Priest.
I could not agree more
Ahh shuddup
I just typed in "how to play, 'Sails of Charon'" not knowing what wold come up. I'm glad this guy popped up. Really good explanation !!
Yay! Standard Tuning!!
I've been playing for like 25 years man, and you are the best teacher for real lol.
Very kind mate. Thank you
I miss this guy
He always disects solos so good. I hope he is back one day 🤟
He's coming back in 2 days with a nuno bettencort solo
@@chriszoupa7898 yes sir!!!! 🤟
THE MAN HIMSELF! ALWAYS THAT I SEARCH FOR TABS OR LESSONS HE APPEARS, YOUR THE ONE!!!
You are a great teacher. Chilled and clear teaching style.
Very nice! I had been trying to learn it with the fingering in different positions for a lot of the solo, but the way you play it makes it a lot easier. My speed and accuracy almost immediately increased significantly! Thank you!
Glad to help man!
Dude...my face is melting! Seriously though...my fingers are so blistered from practicing this song so much. I am just trying to commit the parts to muscle memory before I even try to get the groove. Incredible jam man...thanks!
One of the best lessons on how to play this challenging advanced shred classic.
This is THE Best guitar tutorial's ever! Thank you! I am really grateful.. I am in tune with you, can feel every step of the way..
Very kind dude. Thank you
I'm finally ready to learn this song
Thank you for uploading this
right there with ya brotha
How did it go?
@@meltv3399and how did it go for you?
@@cr250r9 can play the right notes, but cant do it at the same speed yet unfortunately
In about 10 years time I’ll have this up to speed, thanks for the killer lesson as per always \m/
i’m assuming you’re about halfway there now
@@saaimtariq6875Which is half way further than I am 😂
can be done within a few months w an hour a day
Well done and thanks for mapping this out! Used to do this song in the later 70's, and now that I'm in my 60's you've helped me remember where to put all of it again!
Thank you. This Uli Roth solo was face melting when it came out in 1977. I hadn't heard anyone else play like this in rock. Al Dimeola somewhat, but that wasn't rock. Later in the 80s, up to today, techniques like they used, became quite common.
9 months ago I couldn't play this. Decided to try again today and now I'm shreddin it!!! Thanks for the awesome lesson as usual Chris!!! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Okay I've been listening & looking at your mug all week getting this solo down for no reason other than I love this solo since I was a teenager. I have played for 36 years & your the best teacher I EVER came across. Shit where do I send the check lol 😝
Email me at learnthatsolo@gmail.com i have the tab i made for this video if you need it bro
Chris Zoupa could I get that tab??? Rcking191@icloud.com
Back 4 years later for a refresher
This solo is one of my favorites, but nobody knows what the hell it is. But OMG play some Journey or Bon Jovi and they go freaking crazy. 😝
But thanks again this lesson is the gift that keeps on giving
@@ozzman25 Yeah I remember going to see David Lee Roth opening for Poison and when Steve Vai had his solo everyone decided to head for the concession stands or bathrooms and when C.C. had his solo which was nothing but whammy bar dives the crowd went crazy. Fucktards!
Chris Zoupa was my childhood superhero.
Thank you Chris Zoupa for this lesson and all your other lessons.
You're an excellent teacher. I've also been watching your Painkiller solo breakdown.
Man, I've got a lot of work to do. Sweeps are my bane at the moment.
You can do it it just takes some time, patience and practice, in fact i think a year or 2 of practice could be enough for most if they keep doing it constantly.
@@AssassinT10 thanks! I'll be working at it.
Huge helps bruv takin this one in little bits every day I like the pacing of your tutorial structure and not too rushed
Truly one of the most badd ass songs and guitar solos EVAH!!!
Thanks Chris! I have watched this video a hundred times to learn this song, awesome lesson! If you have a chance could you please teach A light in the black solo from Rainbow? Cheers
feeling like an actual shredder now thanks chris
holy holy holy Chris...epic lesson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A FANTASTIC guitar teacher!!!
Thank you Chris if it weren't for you I wouldn't know how solo at all fr thx u for ur videos ur an amazing guitarist
I just recently found this song again I forgot how awesome it is and I love the old video of it they were all pretty skinny back then Thanks for posting :-)
I am not one who quickly dismisses "Theory"Vs just raw Talent. But, I believe learning all the different parts of this tune unlocks the whole fretboard and is an excellent tune to teach to help those stuck in a ret! This song makes you move even if you do not wish to! However if you find yourself involuntary moving to this toon No Worries it's alright. It does com naturally to some but to others, you may feel a bit IN TRAPPED, don't be alarmed! This tune is way better than coffee in the morning before work!
You're awesome dude. I like your attitude
Thank you Chris. I gave up on learning this long ago but will try again!
This isn't only good for learning the song, but also for sharpening your skills as well
Beautiful job! Your breadth of metal knowledge and appreciation is really cool.
Hey, Chris. I've been a both a fan and subscriber for about a year now. Thank you for having the patience that most of us do not have to sit down and pick apart these solos and for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. I know it's helped me become a better player. I also know that you're bogged down with song requests, but if I could throw in my two cents, I'd love a Skin O' My Teeth lesson from Megadeth. Thanks again!
yep great stuff - legend - time to hook right in - now alls I got to do is get my band to love this as much as I do - you are the black belt of guitar bro - cheers from Mullumbimby
Thank you for a great tutorial, you play it very precisely. I've learned all the notes, getting it up to speed may take some time :)
I can't seem to make the leap in speed (and maybe never will) but will enjoy practicing!
Thank you Chris! you are the best teacher by far
Very nice video Chris congratulations. I am working to learn this song. I am working to develop the right hand coordination (defining "down strokes references")
You've got that triplet phrase at the beginning spot on bro! It's the hammer ons and pull offs that lets it flow so well. I think. It took me a bit of time before I had to cave in and not try to pick every note. lol Nice playing and lesson.
Excellent lesson Chris. One of the treasured guitar works.
great lesson i always wanted to learn this solo its a great one
Good job homeboy its really helpful. you are a good teacher
Man! you make it look so easy...(when it isn't!)
Thank you Chris Zoupa
Not only are you awesome, so is your guitar! Thanks for the video AND the help with learning this great song!
That is a Wicked Solo,,, Thanks I always wanted to learn this
Thanks love soloing style from the 70's. Old stuff but very cool!
Thanks so much Chris, that's such a good lesson. One last thing though: the picture in the end is Scorpions with matthias Jabs. Doesn't sound really fair towards Uli Jon Roth ^^
After months and months of watching your videos, which are great btw, I've only just realized that we have the same guitar.
thanks chris i always loved this solo
Thank you so much for this. I thought I'd never be able to learn how to play this.
Dude, you are amazing. Thank you. I'm still dying over here though. Couldn't be a better tutorial.
Dude you’re a great teacher!
Merci . je ne suis pas bon en anglais mais c’est tellement bien expliqué que je comprends tout ..merci 🙏🙏
Of all renditions of this song on UA-cam, yours is the one that "feels" closest to the original by U. Roth. Very well done.
Hey Chris! I've loved your videos for a long time, this is an awesome solo and i thank you so much for teaching the world!
One amazing solo i´d really want you to do a tutorial of is longing for fire, another amazing solo from Uli.
Cheers!
great lesson
This Lesson is excellent, Chris!!!! Thanks again!!!!
I love your Schecter dude. I had a C1 Stealth Diamond Series almost identical to that one. Only difference I can see is I had a tribal inlay on the 12th fret.
And thanks for your help btw. 🤘
best class ever.... congrats
One of my favorites. Thanx Chris 🤟🏻
Wow, good playing there!
Thank you so much, man! You're fantastic!
Excellent...Bravo!
Thank you so much for this lesson! It's perfect.
Very cool tutorial, thanks a lot.
Uli is so freaking cool. I wish I could afford one of those sky guitars. They aren't made by Dean anymore. Now they're made by his favorite luthier, privately, basically. At least I'm pretty sure that's how they're doing it. They range from like $10k all the way up to almost $40k. I'd say that's a rip off, but they're sort of like collectables. And they're really, really, very, very cool. 😎 🎸
Excellent as always Chris! Can we have Catch Your Train please? 😀
Hey Chris, I love your videos although I can't play most of the complicated solos you teach (Which are most of your vids) I enjoy watching them anyways, keep up the amazing work mate. Also do you live in Australia? if so, what state/city? If you don't mind me asking
My request is the Welcome Home solo by Coheed and Cambria - hell of a solo, been meaning to learn it for ages :)
Great lesson.
Could you do some more kalmah solos please Chris?
Fantastic Chris... learning to play this solo has always been on my bucket list... and you have deconstructed it perfectly... now to get my sh!t together...and do it 🤘🏼😝🎸
You should do an At the Gates solo tutorial especially with the coming of their new album.
Amazing job 🤘
When watching the official Scorpions video you'll notice how calm and confident Uli Jon Roth plays this song.
I wonder what he learned growing up
He play with his eyes closed 😂
Valeu mestre 😮
Great work!
Amazing playing!!! Thanks!
Please make My Last Words solo tutorial by Megadeth. Also good job on this solo as always.
Thanks for you talent
Hello! Chris, use your guitar lessons for time. Thank you from Spain.
Great !
Hi Chris, thanks for another awesome lesson, no your busy with ur new album (can we hear some previews soon xD) but could u possibly do another black veil brides track, maybe goodbye agony when it comes out in a few days. Thank you Chris :D respect from colchester.
I'm determined to learn this in 2019...came across your video just now. Armed with the guitar tab from songsterr.com and this, I might be able to do it!
Bret Williams did you do it
Great explanation!!!!
Hey Chris, can you do the solo in Agent Orange by Sodom? Thanks!
Very helpful. Thank you!
This is tough, im going to snuggle
Awesome video, got it on my first attempt, thanks dude.
I think it would be really cool if you did set the world on fire by symphony x. I haven't been able to find any tutorials on UA-cam and really like the song. If you can't that's alright. I love your videos they are very helpful.
Dude you rock... thanks man.
CHRIS ZOUPA, can you make a video showing a lot of ULI roth harmonic minor and phrygian dominant licks he uses a lot of arpeggios in his solo albums 78-83 can you show them?
Thumbs up Chris!
Kiana Shotgun =)
Hey Chris thanks for this man its a good lesson vid ,I'm halfway there with this solo. Question what schecter are you using for this song?
thank you so much
Thanks muy útil 💪
Hi Mr. Chris.
Can I ask you to teach us the solo of a touch of evil Judaspriest ?
thank you
