Rhaenys and Meleys had such a strong bond ❤
From "I won't leave Meleys" in season one to Meleys looking at Rhaenys in her final moments in the last episode. This was such a strong scene...
My favourite character... cunning, loyal, and fierce until the very end. Rest easy

Not cunning. Loyal and fierce sure. But not cunning.
@@greenrighthandshe is cunning cause she was smart not to use fire against the older dragon and go straight for claws and teeth with meleys so she knew how to use her dragon in a fight. If you notice vhagars flames harmed sunfyre but not meleys since the older the dragon the more immune their scales are to fire meleys was old.
@@greenrighthand Chaining into her riding harness before flying upside down. Locking talons with Vhagar to make Vhagars giant claws redundant. Rolling into that 69 position to block Vhagar’s flames with Meleys underside and tail. Using Meleys speed to spin in circles until she gained ultimate velocity so that she can body slam Vhagar into the ground. Substituting Meleys speed for a lack of strength.
She was a brilliant and cunning dragon rider. Her only mistake was assuming the fall would have killed Vhagar. No matter how old or experienced Rhaenys was, Vhagar was always going to be older and much more experienced.
@@greenrighthand She did the math and knew how to fight a much larger dragon. Hesitant to start a war yes but as we see, that was a show of mercy. Rhaenys was running loops around them green boys.
At least they died together, Dragon and Rider.
Rest in peace Rhaenys and Meleys.

I felt so sad with what happened to Melys. The dragon took a last glance proving her loyalty to her rider. 😢 I am sad of what had happened

This episode should be called "The Queen Who Never Was"
She kept fighting though Aemond was done by making sure that Aegon is dead and spared her, what a prideful Queen. What really hurts more is that she died before knowing her son is still alive 😢😢
Its like they had hinted Leanor died last episode when Rhaenyra said to Mycaria
"Seasmoke, my late lord husbands dragon. Lately he's grown restless, we can not know why".
Aemond wasn’t doing that at all tho
@@CloeC-u9tHe was because Aegon was the intended target, not Rhaenys. Leaving Meleys uninjured guaranteed her escape as Vhagar is not even close to having the speed Meleys had.
This was about him killing Aegon.
@@Virgohorrorlover Agree. After the first confrontation, Aemond literally forgot about her and turned the other way. She was the one that came back. Even the second time Aemond wasn't paying her no mind.
@@phyzyc6765 My thoughts are she knew it was to be her final ride. From the last episode her talk with Corlys and meeting her lover maybe and her look to meleys. Maybe she hoped to take it both vhagar and sunfyre dealing a devastating blow to the greens. For someone with such a battle IQ and obvious wisdom, why didn't she try flying the longer way home instead of right over rooks rest to a ambush? It's established vhagar could never catch meleys

I was not expecting her to die in last night's episode. I thought she was going to last much longer, at least till the final season. But Rhaenys died as bravely as she lived. A fitting exit for a dignified character.

Beginning to get tired of these type of comments. The greens chose to hold a ceremony in the dragon pit knowing they had locked up inside it the gigantic Meleys, dragon of the Princess Rhaenys who was fiercely loyal to King Viserys.
Did you really think she ought to let the greens finish their little ceremony first and wait until everyone went home safely before she made her escape? Maybe yes, if people who refused to bend the knee weren’t unalived during those times and riderless dragons weren’t considered as great weapons during wars.
that awful scene , Rhaenys was probably the wisest before the stupid writers destroyed her character in this ep 9, instead of Heleana crowned by her mother and Aegon riding his golden dragon Sunfyre through the streets of King's landing
