      I used to box, and I would say that certain people have better fighting instincts than others, and it shows in daily life. I'm not saying this is an individual who should take up boxing, but she clearly, at a young age, had a presence of mind to think clearly under unimaginable stress. That's something than can help in any walk of life.

      i swear to god this girl is a hero. hero in my eyes. i was 31 and i didn't fight back. i was weak, i still am. but i hope she turned her life into helping other people to rise and develop similar instincts... in my country domestic abuse is so big that domestic homoside is bigger than anywhere in europe. keep in mind we barely have 2 mil of people in the country. i am alive and i try to rise up awareness on this matter. but we r so so far away from other countries.

    You're so right, Emma. When he broke down during his confession, all I could think was, "If you really felt guilt and remorse about what you had done, why didn't you turn yourself in and take your punishment?" He was a deeply flawed person and when I saw that his gravestone had the word "Son" on it, I wondered how much that parent had contributed to his lack of character and deviant nature...and recognized his flaws and did nothing. It is thrilling to learn about a truly heroic survivor like Jennifer! May she have nothing but blessings beyond her wildest expectations for the rest of her long life.

    • @ccali327
      @ccali327 Рік тому +2

      Yeah, if you look at feral humans, you realize they take on the characteristics of the animals that raise them. Humans will walk on all fours and bark if raised by a dog. Although genetic predispositions can push things one way or the other, much of human development is learned. People don't healthily choose to behave this way, so who knows what horror he faced growing up. I'm not saying he should get any sort of pass. He should be held completely accountable for everything, but true empathy extends to all types. While not definite, I would say it's pretty likely this person had a horrible upbringing and much of this negativity was sown during a period he had little agency.
      Poor, neglectful parenting can ruin many lives. Aside from his, you have to think every victim, their family and friends who were negatively affected by losing the person or having to deal with the negative consequences of the assault. That has a compounding effect that can easily ruin the lives of a hundred or more people. This is why I hate when people take a cavalier attitude toward parenting or have kids for more selfish reasons... there is no telling what sort of societal harm can be done.

    • @trialgoddess
      @trialgoddess Рік тому +2

      @@ccali327 I agree with you. Many parents are clueless as to how their ineptitude, lack of insight, myopia, emotionalism, and selfish inability to put their child's needs ahead of their own can cause so much developmental and emotional harm. Raising a child is a life-altering lifelong commitment replete with sacrifice and joy if you care enough to do it right.

    She reminds me of the girl, Sayeh, that I just watched you cover recently. She also showed such amazing strength and cool-headed thinking that saved her from a perverted predator and helped bring him to justice. Thank you for shining light on these dark places. Victims need a voice (which you so graciously and eloquently provide for them) Your insights and commentaries bring empathy and compassion to your stories, yet you also show how they affect you emotionally. That authenticity and, sometimes, rawness are what make you such a compelling host. Admittedly, I can't get through some of these videos; they're just too brutal. That said, it's really nice to see when some are able to thrive in defiance of the horrors someone inflicted upon them. So thank you again for doing this hard work. Jennifer’s memory is amazing. She recalled so many details that most adults would miss. I know I deal with memories of abuse on a daily basis. I am so impressed that this young lady, little girl at the time, has led such a positive life. I have used many substances to try and not remember. I wish I was more like her….

    A mistake is not shutting the freezer properly. A mistake is bumping into someone in the street accidentally. Not what he did that innocent baby. 😭

    Your end comments ring so true. After listening to 2 horrific true crimes, both involving the tragic murder of a young child, around Jennifer’s age, I was close to tears. Then your video came up. I was tempted to listen another day but when hubby decided to watch automotive shows all evening, I plugged in to your video. At least I ended the day on a more uplifting story, if that can even be a word to describe this horror.

    This was a great video. I'm used to (hopefully) some form of justice in true crime videos, but this story is so miraculous and Jennifer is such a hero that,even though the crime was horrendous, the culmination of the story is really heart warming. Excellent video!❤❤❤
