2004 Ford explorer sport Trac 4wd front rotors are 5x4.5 and have the correct spacing to line right up. You just need to take about 1/8th off the diameter of the hub.
WJ upgrade is awesome. The slotted rotors are probably overkill though. They are only going to really work if you are on the brakes hard and often, but you also need airflow to cool them (speed). They're better for racing than crawling.
Great explanation. I am in the midst of the same swap on my TJ. I picked up an XJ HP axle as well. It will get a Artec axle truss and C braces. JKS makes a nice steering setup using the stock WJ tie rod ends.
Bro, I never noticed it was a WJ knuckle you were posting on IG! Building an LS S10 with Jeep D44 up front. Had a Jeep fanatic friend tell me to do the WJ swap and it was 100% the right move.
Are you being serious? I owned Jeeps past 25 years, one since new. Currently have a Hemi swapped stretched TJ, a mildly built TJ , an stroked XJ, and a JTRD. I work on these all the time.. Stock older generation Jeep XJ/TJ had single pot front calipers. The stock brakes are less than ideal by any stretch of imagination.
@@mightymikee lol whoa badass. I've been riding around and repairing XJ's since 1987 bud. I've had and maintained two of my own for the last 27 years. I go up and down the mountains weekly. Stock brakes are fine when maintained. :)
@@garyvanmeter4911 02 sport trac 4x4 front rotors some xj unit bearings you have to turn down the wheel mounting flange a little bit for the rotor slide on and crown vic rotors not sure on the yrs ppl have used some say 95 some say 03+ i have an 08 p71 next time jeep needs brakes was planning to check if they'll work

i used sport trac rotors they have 5x4.5 have been told crown victoria rotors work but have not tried those yet

Cant run stock wheels and need different steering parts not a good fix

Did you replace just the lower ball joint with a wj lower and use a new xj upper or did you use a wj upper and lower when installing the wj knuckle?
Wj and xj use the same upper but use different lower ball joints.
What are your thoughts on Heim Joints verse standard tie rod joints???
