Here's why I made this video:
While I was in Manila, the most striking observation was the disparity between poor and rich.
The streets of Manila were filled with homeless people and beggars.
In contrast, the most affluent areas showcased a stark difference, where the rich enjoy comfortable lives that the low-income class can hardly imagine.
So, I wanted to explore these contrasting lifestyles by visiting various areas of Manila, from low-income neighborhoods to the wealthiest districts.
While there are slums areas in Manila, I rather explored a wide range of lives from typical low-income families to the middle class and the wealthy, all through the eyes of a foreigner.
In the crowded backstreets of low-income neighborhoods and traditional markets, I was greeted with the warm smiles and hospitality of the locals, so I did not intend to belittle their hard working lives.
I made this video in the hope that the structural wealth gap in the Philippines can be addressed, allowing those who work hard to rise to the middle class.
I hope you can provide constructive comments with a warm heart rather than criticism!
Thank you always for watching my contents~

Thank U for featuring Philippines. Yes especially in Manila...ull see the poor and rich a divided place. But d good thing s poor people there seemed carry it n a classy way by just smiling with tge hard life they hav and thats one quality filipinos hav.... to b content and live as much what they hav and strive& just enjoy no pressures. Ive studied my college degree n Manila i came from a province...an island called Basilan...when i saw all those worst slum areas n Manila...i was dis hearted how our government hav neglect them.
Unlike n some provinces which we call small town or islands....we dont see very poor people...majority s n mid class or high n my hometown. But n general the good things n philippines where not pressured too much n our studies but we do well....and no worries. I really enjoy watching ur vlog. Pls stay safe...and b cautious n eating street foods....to avoid food poisoning. Ur wife s very pretty...U two look so happy and free....keep smiling. 10K subscribers....

As a local whenever I walk in the busy streets of Mnl I always keep my belongings tighter to myself and my eyes are always alert to people passing by 😂
The truth abt Philippines is this, 'The poor is getting poorer and the rich getting richer' that's it.

Thanks for your local insight! I hope the proper system can be implemented there so that poor people can move up to the middle class~

The main reason why the Philippines still poor is because The Politicians and Elites or Oligarch are the one who controlling the Country! The natural resources goes to these People and not sharing to us Ordinary Filipinos! And also the Politicans making law only benefiting the rich and not for poor that’s why many of us prefer working abroad to find a better future! Imagine if you work as a normal job in the Philippines you only making like 200-250$ a mos or less while those rich like owning most of the businesses in the Philippines like the basic need like Electricity, water, supermarket, shopping malls, fastfood restaurants etc..also the government does nothing to make something for family planning and to implement better! But I’m hoping that Philippines will be great and better in the near Future!

Thanks for your comment! Yes, that's why more people need to speak up and have the congress pass the important bills that matter to the hard working individuals.

No offense but another thing, the traditional mindset and system of the Filipinos are one of the reasons why most are poor and Poverty is a dominant conditions of it's people. It is actually influenced by the colonial experience and legacy til the present of why the Political system is bad and even the Religious beliefs are toxic were it both badly influenced the common mindset of the people✌✌✌

Thanks for another thoughtful comment here. This is an interesting insight, as I often encounter similar mindsets throughout SEA region, particularly in the Buddhist countries where conformity is highly valued.

Hi, the Philippines is still considered as among a developing country although dubbed as a 3rd-world stereotype especially by Western world. Literally, Poverty is a dominant social conditions of the people where there are small and exclusive areas shows a sign of progress and development(like Makati, BGC, Ortigas etc.). Though its not entirely poor, there are sensitive contrast between the wealthy, the middle class and especially those poor individuals👍👍👍

I wouldnt call it rich or poor, just developing and t he ones who are able to get power, have alot of money, theres alot of beggers just like the USA, which doesnt bother me, also alot of stuff can be improved, its not that hard but politicians there doesnt seem to spend the money to improve the quality way of life including paying by hourly wage.

Thanks for your comment! I agree with your term 'developing' but to simplify the contrast in the title, I used the poor and rich instead~
