Hey Bobby Hill! My name is Goldie and we hiked the AT the same year. The HST has been on my list for awhile and this video is giving me the stoke to do it next year! Just a tip on the altitude sickness is to get diamox. I used it when I did whitney this year via whitney portal and it was amazingly effective. A teledoc can usually prescribe it if you say you're doing mountaineering. Loved the video and keep shredding!
They aren’t very difficult to obtain. You can get them up to 6 months in advance online I believe. Or you can get a walk up permit after 1pm the day before you start hiking at the visitor center. Just google High Sierra Trail permit and that will point you in the right direction. Enjoy your hike!
Great video!

Awesome! Thx for sharing your journey. Are permits difficult to get, or any tips? Also thinking about a September hike.
