6/10/18 still no leaks at all! I've had this rzr in 3ft of water all day at Texas flats off-road park and countless times under muddy water, no leaks and no need to drain. Just wish the rear diff wouldn't suck in water haha.
The back plate sealed perfect with the o-ring only ion the trans side, and blue on the engine side as polaris recommends. The grease on the factory cover gasket is working with no leaks. I could not be happier. I have not had to open it up but I have been driving through lots of water and mud ( water and mud filling in the cab )with no issues at all. Not a drop shows in my drain hose that I made on it. There is absolutely no need to seal everything up with silicone or other sealants and glues. Just don't overdue the grease just a thin layer on the outside of the cover gasket. Otherwise you might squeeze some into the belt box onto the belt.

Butyl tape has worked perfectly for me.
That sounds easier and less clean up on belt changes. Great idea.
