- After a brief momet without issue, just before Lockdown occurred the air con fan in the Rover 75 suddenly stopped working with no warning.
After looking things up on line, there were many descriptions of what could be the issue, so here are all the possible things to try, along with what the issue actually was in this case.

Great Video and always appreciate people who give great tips and advice to keep the 75 on the road . This was extremely helpful. Thank you
Brilliant tip. I've just repaired mine with the help of your video. Indeed it was the resistor pack. Thank you very much. Saved me a packet!
You’re welcome, glad it was of use 😊👍
Problem solving always put smile on my face when you have dig deeper into the job because feeling better accomplished in doing so👍👍👍🕵️♂️🛠️🙂
Wouldn’t have minded but it failed at end of February when it was needed every day for keeping windscreen clear, then after lockdown the parts weren’t available, but then again I wasn’t driving anywhere as I was on furlough!
Services it though and videos the process but phone fell into some oily water and died, losing 95% of the footage...
So from all the Rover 75 fault fixing and servicing stuff, this was most of what remained...
@@OverDriveOnline7921 bless you Mr I have currently got a oppo 10 x zoom x 60 best phone I have had for photos and video home use many features look up oppo when due contract and look at spec compared to Samsung s8 it spat it out for breakfast and cheaper monthly payments to just passing it on cheers
Insurance replacement was an upgrade and as the previous phone was from 2014 (iPhone 6 128GB) the replacement was an iPhone 7 128GB so I’ve still the software I depend on (ProCam 7) which stopped being available on android in 2017 due to piracy and as a result, get ultra colour dynamic range in 4K.
As I also use Final Cut Pro X, the integration is seamless, something I won’t get with any other phone really, though the motion compensation suffers and was buttery smooth on the iPhone 6, even in faux 4K mode so not sure what’s going on there.
If ProCam was available on other platforms, then the oppo could well be an option, sadly though it’s not and I’ve never found anything as good on Android which I suspect is down the the vast differences in devices available whereas iPhone is a set list. You know exactly what hardware will be on certain devices so you can hit the hardware direct with confidence.
Think this 7 will be around for a while, much as I’ve loved filming with the iPhone 11 Pro and can get some great stuff out of it, I can’t justify over £70 a month over 2 years for a phone
I have a AC leak in my ZT, it's coming from under the drivers footwell where the heater matrix is. Using a UV torch, I managed to find out where the leak was coming from, it appears to be coming from a part that is covered by some sort of bitumen type substance next to the temperature control motor. I cannot seem to find any information online what the part in question is, and why it's covered in the substance.
Do you have any advice on the heater not warming up? Its a 2.0 diesel.
Check the temperature gauge, if it’s about half way then there could be an air lock if it’s not, then the thermostat is jammed open, which is the same issue mine has at the moment. Something I’m hoping to tackle soon since it’s getting a bit nippy again.
Air locks are a case of bleeding the system, thermostat has 2 solutions, the cheaper, quicker and easier one (look up DMGR’s on the 75 and ZT forum) and the official way with a genuine upgraded thermostat, but is a pain to get to and expensive!
It’s a known issue that affects the M47 engine, both in the 75/ZT and in the BMW’s the engine is fitted to
@@OverDriveOnline7921 I know this is a little late but to change the Thermostat on a 75 is an absolute nightmare, however you can buy an inline thermostat from dmgrs hat can be fitted to the top hose. Video of installation available here

Funnily enough I bought one of these not long after I got the car, just never got round to fitting it!
Another one of those projects that need to be done but thanks for the comment as others may well not know about this
mine cut the driver side window panel controler, the radio, and the aircon at once, all fuses are okay though
Helpful video thanks but just because it's got a few resistors in it doesn't make it a resistor pack!
Why did you not show where the fan is, everybody is just showing where the resistor is
Not seen this for a while but I do know during filming I mention that the fan is on the opposite side in the passenger footwell, thing is unless all other areas check out, that’s when the fan needs replacing. Having said that, 7 out of 10 times it’s the resistor pack, and of the remainder, it’s either the control unit or fan and it’s twice as likely to be the control box.
However, I’m up for doing a follow up, something I had planned to do during lockdown and can look at showing the fan location then
You need a haircut
Hehe, at the time hairdressers were closed, had one when they reopened as seen in episode 25, but hey-ho, need another one now and can’t get one.
Still, vaccine dose one out of the way so a step in the right direction
