I have a beautiful BRG rover 75 auto diesel. with a few problems, water getting inside under the drivers seat, Rear 3rd brake light broken, i wanna put in a new unit, and now the bloody alternator has died. Last week i changed the front springs and drop links, Ive bought myself a money pit
Did you ever manage to get the rear door to open? I have exact same issue rear door wont open from inside or out and ubless i get the cardboard off i cant figure it out and as the door s shut i cant get it to open or acceas inside the cardboard with it shut
@@tomdrives Tom this plastic weld, once you mold it around the original plastic it is strong if not stronger because I did my rear window brake lights, I had the same problem as you and it hasn't given me a problem in the last 2 years and I have a rover 75.
Hi, I am the happy owner of a 75 Contemporary SE V6. Good performance and I'm getting 30 mpg on short trips. I would not worry about getting a pre project drive. One of those would be higher mileage and in my experience there is no great problem with the later cars. If looking for a V6 you should check if the timing belt renewal job has been done fairly recently. If not, you may be able to negotiate a better price since the job costs around £600 or so.
Just had to fix my drivers door handle with some garden wire. Blooming nightmare. My headlight bulb is secured with gorilla tape because it wouldn’t screw and lock 🙄
I glued my back light with clear sealant and it worked 😅
Good work Tom, My headlights are really foggy and I keep forgetting to get them cleaned up.
Thanks! And yes I was in a similar situation, mine were left for about a year
@@tomdrives How about doing this to your 75 ua-cam.com/video/2R_aDtfwC2o/v-deo.html it would be an interesting project ??
Struggling to change gear is it a stretched clutch cable?

@@tomdrives no i cant get to it cause i cant open the door inside or out...so cant get that cardboard off
Get some plastic weld you can mold it to what ever you shape you like even drill and sand it great stuff.
I think I might have to, all my local breakers yards have gotten rid of their 75s and ZTs :(

What brand of plastic weld is it?? I’ll give that a try
@@tomdrives the brand is called J.B weld
I think I might have tried the same thing you did using selleys knead it. To mould new screw mounts.
What did you spray the headlights with?
Isopon headlight restorer kit, it’s basically a 2k clear coat
I'm looking at getting a 75 soon Tom. Can you recommend any particular model?
Depends on your mileage? Do you drive long distances a lot?
@@tomdrives so for my new job I will be driving on average 40miles a day over 5 days a week, mainly motorway.
I would get the same model as mine :) diesel, auto pre project drive if you can so pre 2001

Very good
Cheaper option for cleaning headlights, I use toothpaste, brings em up like new.
I've had all these issues and a few more 😮 currently there seems to be a leak in my boot somewhere and my aircon isn't working 🫣🫣
1:18 you can fix it by just puting a larger washer just saying....
