The name of the game is ironic intentionally. It's flavored like a castlevania-like game. But there's no vampires in the game at all. "Thank you [player character], but the vampire is in another coffin!" directly pokes fun at this when you unlock another character.
Not to mention the fact that most of the characters are rip off o... I mean, homages to famous vampire slaying heroes from a certain forgotten Konami franchise.
when my friend described this to me I did indeed think it sounded mega lame... but then he passed the controller to me and I couldn't stop playing. The strategy aspect of it is so engaging and fun!
Yeah here's the break down of why it's a scam, 1. The business is based out of Honk Kong and they're not even registered in the UK 2. The money given to charity has stayed at 42k euros since the beginning 3. Titles cannot be bought in Scotland as titles are controlled by a specific Scottish department and they must be registered by the owner with them and they specifically made a law in 2015 that states that owning souvenir plots of land aka tiny unusable plots doesn't grant someone the benefits of being a land owner in Scotland. So even if buying a plot of land in Scotland made you a lord you wouldn't be eligible for such a title if you only owned the tiny amounts offered by established titles.
I'm Scottish and Established Titles is absolutely a scam. They're a Hong Kong based enterprise that has no legitimate ownership of any land in Scotland
Son and I just started playing, brings me back to growing up during the NES era of my child hood swapping back and forth between players trying to see how far we each can go ❤
The Arcana mechanic also DRASTICALLY changes the effieciency of your runs. My current fave is the one that sucks all stage items, xp, coins, and chests in a circle around your character every two minutes
I’ve been playing it non stop since it dropped on Xbox gamepass. And all I can say is just get it. It’s unbelievably good. The first time you beat a stage is a great feeling. Such a great wee game.
Bro the hearing and seeing the game after playing it for too long is real. My gf was in class all day so i just sat around and played it for like 8 hours or so and once i got off to call her i kept hearing the gem collect noise
40 hours in and everything completed and yet I'm disappointed there isn't more. For the pittance I paid it's insane. It feels like the best flash game that my younger self would've dedicated their life to.
Just eant to ask a wuestion because you completed it: it says every run has a 30 minutes max timeout, is there possible to “beat the game” aka defeat the last boss in that timeframe? Is that the definition if beating this game or you are doomed to die anyway abd just play to unlock every collectible? Thank you :-)
@@druidobianco9734 Difficult to say without spoiling it, I'll just say that there is an end and the last boss isn't entirely tied to completing a run but rather your unlocks. In your regular 30-"ish" minute runs though there's no escaping second death. So don't worry too much. Just keep unlocking stuff.
Sometimes my partner gets gamepass ultimate, but still uses my xbox profile to buy it, which means my laptop gets gamepass and online multiplayer with said games (it lets her and I play gamepass game multiplayer with only one xbox and one subscription lol). This is how I downloaded Vampire Survivors. At first, I thought, this is dumb, this whip attack does nothing. But ever second I spent with the game had me finding more and more strategy, dopamine, and depth. Suddenly I started to realize there are layers well beyond what I ever imagine would be in a game a step below a clicker-game lol. Seriously, play this game, you will/wont regret it all at the same time lmao. I now own it on Steam because when gamepass shut off I had withdrawal lol
The one downside to me is that it starts to get more mindless mid and late game after we unlock more characters, power-ups, arcana, etc. The most exciting and addictive stage to me was the early game when we playing as Antonio, or even just got an unlocked character or two like Imelda or Gennaro. But after I accumulated maybe, say, a total of 20k gold, I was even starting to AFK playing the game. I got so proficient at it that I didn't have to kite enemies and could just watch my character obliterate everything. Then most of the game was like that from then onwards from, say, 20k total gold to 200,000,000 total gold. The game became so mindless and repetitve soon after the mid-game. By the time I unlocked Sammy, it was just ridiculous how much gold I was getting (ex: 500k+ on a hyper inverted run in less than 10 mins) and there was no challenge anymore. I still adore the game but I wish the mid and late game didn't become so monotonous. I also think the game was better before DLC. SpellStrike and SpellStrom are totally OP. With SpellStrom, I was doing over 100k DPS on some runs. Most other evolved weapons only do like 3k to maybe 20k, not 100k+.
I love that this game has a hidden abusable but fair mechanics. For example, you can actually stack more than 6 passive items and still evolve your weapon to ultimate if the map has a dropped item and stack it smart.
I've never played a game so instantly addicting, and I've been playing quite a few games over the past 3 decades. I played this for 4 hours straight when first trying it, and the 4 more hours tonight when I finally beat the first level.
i haven’t played vampire survivors, however one of my teachers had us play some weird trivia government game with the exact same gameplay loop lol: move around, answer questions to get upgrades, kill hordes of enemies. what a cool teacher
Correction, the church (Cappella Magna) is not the final stage. There's a literal end boss and end credits. It's in the map called Eudaimonia Machine. You have to visit it three times to unlock the boss fight, and it will disappear after visiting it the first two times, causing you to have to unlock the same map 3 separate times. Afterwards, you'll get the final character and best weapon in the game, Queen Sigma and the Victory Sword.

I got it for free with apple arcade and have been having an ABSOLUTE BLAST playing this game. It only took me a few days to max out my stats which kinda sucks but Im still having fun unlocking the multitude of characters. I hope they add cosmetics or something to do with all my gold now
I just heard of this game. I am at work with my potatoe computer laptop and nothing to do sense its easter. This game is my easter present to my self. Great content!
Vampire survivors is truly a remarkable game, especially with twitch integrated games. It become very chaotic when people fight for what weapon to pick next. I even got the dlc for it. Also, this is out now on mobile, for free.
Incredibly addicting and super fun. I have never felt this powerful since I played Prototype back in the day. In the beginning, it can feel a bit stale but man after you get the power-ups and try to experiment with different stages and builds, it becomes really fun and hard to put down. At Times I thought I had broken the game 😄 Great music, an addicting gameplay loop, and a must-play on gamepass right now.

Before watching this video, I felt how you felt whenever I saw Vampire Survivors. After watching this video, I tried the game out. It's as fun as you made it out to be.
I bought this game months ago because I saw people playing it but never actually touched it until a couple of weeks ago - I have no idea what I was waiting for but I'm so glad I finally played it. It is pure fun distilled. To anyone that liked it and want something else to play afterwards go pick up Loop Hero.
Seriously about that grind part. You can unlock and fully enjoy the chaotic randomness of the full game in no time flat. I'm almost done on the unlocks list and still have the secrets to find but I've unlocked more in less time in this game than I have in any other roguelite type game. And that's genuinely refreshing because sometimes you want the full chaos potential of the game but still have things to work towards without feeling like you're constantly roadblocks
For $5 it's great, but it feels weirdly super derpy and eventually repetitive, and later on, the RNG can just be rerolled until you play your build of choice every time. Still enthusiastically a strong recommend for the price.
I would love if you reviewed (or rather, just played it) EDF (Earth defence force) games. I honestly feel like you would enjoy it very much. It was a pleasant surprise for me. I wont spoil much, but its L4D but giant bugs. You can play whatever game as they dont follow a story. 4.1 is considered the best, but its honestly tied with 5. 6 just came out so idk about that
I actually had to stop playing before bed because it was seriously messing with my dreams. Nothing worse than 8 hours of anxiety induced thoughts with no clear end goal to make you wake up exhausted. It was much better back when my dreams were DDR arrows or diablo inventory sorting.
I haven't played this, but I have played a mobile game called Magic Survival, which I have heard was part of the inspiration for this game. It's got a very similar kind of gameplay, and it's free, so if anyone is unsure whether they would enjoy this or not, you can give that game a go, and if it's your style, then Vampire Survivors seems to be more of the same but better.
This game should be illegal. I just started playing a few days ago waiting for Starfield and I can't stop playing. I love this game and everyone should try it. You think it's simple but the layers upon layers of gameplay is what hit home for me. Great video and thank you!
I had heard of this game and wanted to try it but it was not available on the Switch, but very recently I found a clone on the Switch called Void Scrappers, and it is super addictive for sure, I love it!
Played vampire survivors since pretty early. And honestly on pc it was already one of the best of these kinda games I’ve ever played. The gameplay makes sense, is very natural and just feels right. Almost weapons seem fairly balanced and the interactions are really cool. Pretty quickly switched to using a controller. I’d highly recommend to do that for this game. It is perfectly playable on keyboard but you just get more directional control with a joystick on a controller. But that was pc. And as I said there it was already a good game. Then however, I got my steam deck. And I’m not kidding. The steam deck turned that game from a good pc game into probably what’s easily the best portable game I ever played. I’m not sure why but I will actually rather grab the steam deck then use my desktop to play this game. Its not really any different but it feels amazing to play on that. Plus you can take it anywhere and its a very light game to run so you can get a very long battery life out of it. And then this game somehow costs 5 euros (and I think I payed even less but I’m not sure on that) with a 2 euro dlc? It is absolutely amazing. The creator could have easily raised the price to 30 euros and it would have still sold like crazy. But he didn’t. I appreciate that so much. And not just that, he released that dlc way later. He must have known that he didn’t have to sell it for 2 bucks but he did. And with that, I can honestly say that this is in my opinion by far the best value for money game I’ve ever bought. And it’s not even close btw, it’s not the biggest game, it’s not the best looking game ever, it’s not the best game. But it’s absolutely incredible how much you are getting for the price. And I honestly think I have no criticism for the game what so ever. It’s prefect, and probably the only game to this date I’d actually give a 10/10.
Bought the game and already have sunk 3 hours xD Almost cleared a stage but died 30 seconds before the 30 minutes mark. Music is amazing! It's really addictive!
I got paid and picked up two games I had on my radar. Avernum: E.F.T.P and Vampire Survivors. I played Avernum for two days before remembering I had Vampiee Survivors as well. I haven't played Avernum since. I need to get back to it but... just one more run

i love small simple indie games, in fact all of my fav games are indie games. celeste, a short hike, a hat in time, chicory, oneshot... but i hate everything that this game stands for. it feels like a mockery of low attention spans, by not even giving you an attack button. its the equivalent of playing cookie clicker if you want a good game thats actually interesting but has a very similar appeal, then play risk of rain 2. risk of rain returns is coming soon, too. you can play the game to the final boss which can take 30-50 minutes, or you can loop indefinitely until it gets absolutely absurd with lots of biiig numbers. you get more items, stack them, increase your numbers, the enemies get stronger as the timer goes up, and its a race against the clock in a way. except theres actual gameplay to be had. risk of rain 2 is very surprisingly cheap for how interesting it is granted, i havent played more than like, an hour of vampire survivors, but i just cant stand to. i feel it mocking me, like oh you're gonna be soooo absorbed and distracted by this idle gameplay because theres just bigger numbers and thats it. thats the appeal. big numbers.
Yeah indie games are where it is currently. I don't mind 70 bucks for a game that is finished and stuff. I do mind paying 70 bucks for incomple trash laden with microtransactions. Why do 70 buck games have mtx? Yeah I've played Vampire Survivors much much more than mw2 or whatever shit is out there. Yeah I'm not buying AAA anymore. Forgot to say I love Vampire survivors. It's fun, you know, what games are meant to be, fun.

Play it and you'll see it. Believe me.
I got it for free with apple arcade and have been having an ABSOLUTE BLAST playing this game. It only took me a few days to max out my stats which kinda sucks but Im still having fun unlocking the multitude of characters. I hope they add cosmetics or something to do with all my gold now
They added skins this update but just 2 and they are unlockables and changes your stats
i started this game a couple days ago.
my life hasn’t been the same ever since
send help
I just heard of this game. I am at work with my potatoe computer laptop and nothing to do sense its easter. This game is my easter present to my self. Great content!
I just started playing a few days ago. King Bible Chainsaw Wheel...I love this game so much.
Vampire survivors is truly a remarkable game, especially with twitch integrated games. It become very chaotic when people fight for what weapon to pick next. I even got the dlc for it.
Also, this is out now on mobile, for free.
In terms of fun & enjoyment I got FAR more out of this at the $3 I initially paid than almost any $70 AAA title. That's why I love the indie space.
i can't see the fun man what am I missing.
Puh-lease
It’s better than GOW lmao
@@Medved- yeah ok
@@VWorldWide have you even played it bro
established titles gives you no lordship whatsoever and anyone in the uk will tell you that
It also just dropped on gamepass so that's neat
Vid overall is real good but got tainted when you mentioned established titles. Absolute scam.
I have DangerouslyFunny to thank for introducing me to this drug of a game. It’s been 300+ hours of gameplay, I both hate and love him for it.
Incredibly addicting and super fun.
I have never felt this powerful since I played Prototype back in the day.
In the beginning, it can feel a bit stale but man after you get the power-ups and try to experiment with different stages and builds, it becomes really fun and hard to put down.
At Times I thought I had broken the game 😄
Great music, an addicting gameplay loop, and a must-play on gamepass right now.
This game is designed for those on the spectrum. This is Atari 2600 version of Castlevania: Symphony of the night
Wow💀
@@InnerRise It helps with sensory. Stem. Like slime does for some on a certain spectrum. Kids that like to see balls rolling /tumbling. Things like stimulate sensory.
You forgot the best part: The developer's Italian
I slept on this for a long time and now I am hooked!!!
This needs to be on all platforms
This game is so damn good. So simple yet enough depth. Not even a ton of grind. Just good ol fashion fun. 8/10 💪🏼
I'm so happy to see a little Italian game having this kind of success
For $5 it's great, but it feels weirdly super derpy and eventually repetitive, and later on, the RNG can just be rerolled until you play your build of choice every time. Still enthusiastically a strong recommend for the price.
20 minutes til dawn is also similar and a UA-camr recommended it and it's good
I would love if you reviewed (or rather, just played it) EDF (Earth defence force) games. I honestly feel like you would enjoy it very much. It was a pleasant surprise for me. I wont spoil much, but its L4D but giant bugs.
You can play whatever game as they dont follow a story. 4.1 is considered the best, but its honestly tied with 5. 6 just came out so idk about that
“EDF! EDF!”
I actually had to stop playing before bed because it was seriously messing with my dreams. Nothing worse than 8 hours of anxiety induced thoughts with no clear end goal to make you wake up exhausted. It was much better back when my dreams were DDR arrows or diablo inventory sorting.
"Costs less than a Starbucks coffee" okay, Elon.
People say this game was made by one person.
They never checked the credits.
It just came out on PlayStation I bought it & all 4 DLC’s for a total of $13.74. That’s the lowest price I can ever remember paying for a game & DLC.
Good news. Poncle (the developer) just released the mobile version and its free.
Get some vacation, let your friends and family know you will be away, stock up on supplies, get the game and have some of the best times of your life
This game should be illegal.
Great video, I'd love to see you cover Lone Tower (Android) sometime. Has a lot of same ideas but is like a tower defense game.
I need to get back to it but... just one more run
yesterday i was like "this game looks dumb but it's probably like 1gb so i'm gonna try it out to kill a little time." I never actually stopped playing it after that. not yet anyways. haha
Awesome video! Loved Vampire Survivors, still have to try a few of the new characters hehe
I’ve been so addicted to this game all month lmao it’s all I’ve played
I never realised my character was a vampire . Doh
Please don't take sponsors from established titles, they are a scam
00:29 Game?
i love small simple indie games, in fact all of my fav games are indie games. celeste, a short hike, a hat in time, chicory, oneshot... but i hate everything that this game stands for. it feels like a mockery of low attention spans, by not even giving you an attack button. its the equivalent of playing cookie clicker
if you want a good game thats actually interesting but has a very similar appeal, then play risk of rain 2. risk of rain returns is coming soon, too. you can play the game to the final boss which can take 30-50 minutes, or you can loop indefinitely until it gets absolutely absurd with lots of biiig numbers. you get more items, stack them, increase your numbers, the enemies get stronger as the timer goes up, and its a race against the clock in a way. except theres actual gameplay to be had. risk of rain 2 is very surprisingly cheap for how interesting it is
granted, i havent played more than like, an hour of vampire survivors, but i just cant stand to. i feel it mocking me, like oh you're gonna be soooo absorbed and distracted by this idle gameplay because theres just bigger numbers
and thats it. thats the appeal. big numbers.
Due to work and family,i barely have enough time to casually play 1 video game at a time.
Thats GoW Ragnarok at the moment but after watching your review and buying it,i am sucked into the void..its blue...shiny...
This has been my video game crack since February 2022... soooo gooood!!
VS is now available for free on android and ios, with no microtransactions. get it.
This looks like games with the aircraft to avoid and kill enemy aircrafts but multiplied massively
And found one inspiration of this game mobile
I just started it and am enjoying it a lot. Just have to figure out what to do about the skeleton trap in the forest level.
