- In this repair, the client described the unit as having NO DISPLAY, we, however, found that the issue was a No Backlight, we also found signs of liquid by the backlight circuit, which indicates the root cause of the current state of the board. (No Backlight )

Hello! I am Argentine, I have worked with Apple for 15 years, and with micro-soldering arrangements for 3 years. I want to thank you because with your video I was able to solve my client's problem. I was focused on the UP800 without knowing that I needed to have the 3v3 and 5v line in the display connector. It did not have the PP5V_SW_LCD line. Thank you so much!

I’ve got the same issue, all line PP5V_SW_LCD looks like it is shorter.How did you fixed?

am using a m1 Mac a2337 air..and backlight stop working suddenly when I was using it ....after a week it came back ..the. again its gone ..am sure it is the backlight issue I verified by myself with light source ..but in-fact service centre guy says only solution is to replace the display fun fact he doesn't even opened the laptop to take a look ..can u comment your finding on this if u can ..thank you
Hello there , what I would suggest, presuming you do not have the necessary tools , take the device to a repair shop, they will be able to determine if the issue is board or screen related , all they have to do is to install another display,

I’ve got the same model with same issue no backlight.
After visual inspection area around UP700 and UP701 has some corrosion (I’ve cleaned with 95% alcohol and then reflow but still same issue)
Following your video I’ve got 3V and 5V , but checking in diode mode I’ve found pin 3 on QP800 is shorter (all line LCDBKLT_EN_L is shorter)
Any idea what to check ?

Please note that the backlight configuration for M series are a bit different from intel , what do you have on backlight output ?
Do you have backlight enable signal ?

after few comparison with a good working board (A2338).
I've found a short line PP5V_SW_LCD (diode mode on pin 1 CP712 have O.L)
I’ve removed CP712 ,CP711 and UP700 the short still there.
What will be next to check?
