"It's a great step up from D7000" : that exactly what i'm currently planning to do, selling my D7000 to upgrade to FX with a D610. Thank you for this nice review.
I am planning to upgrade to D610 from D5100. Pls help me with couple of questions here. Thank You. 1. Lenses for D610 does not need to have AF feature as camera would support it right? 2. Do I need to worry much about VR lenses for D610?
I have read reviews of "oil & dust" problem occurring in D610 too although this is a good fx camera in mid range but after knowing the issue, not able to decide. Did you notice this problem?
Question for you. First great videos and thank you for creating all these informational videos. So my question, what lense did you shoot with in the cemetery and church? Thanks Rick
Hi jibran. im planning to do macro photographyand plan to buy D600.. is that camera fit to my style of photography? and im planning to use extension tubes and reverse ring for cheaper maro lens.. what reverse lens do you recommend to me? planning to shoot insects. thanks!
I have two questions and i'd really appreciate if you helped me out: 1-Is it really as good as D800? i mean is it worth it to pay over a Thousand Dollars to have the D800? 2- Is it good for studio (modeling) pictures? thanks a Lot!
I personally wouldn't. I can achieve whatever I need through D610. It's not my primary camera anyway. If you can handle the huge file size of D800 then give it a shot. I rather spend the extra grand on a lens or something.
Pretty good video bro. I've been shooting with a d300s which has a fantastic 51 point meter and I wasn't sure about the center grouping that the 610 has. Have you shot any weddings with the 610 yet?
I have an old D300 I've been using for many years and it still does what I wanted to do, i.e. taking some wildlife (70-200mm) and portrait shots (50mm). Will this camera or the D800 be a better fit for me if I wish to take better portrait shots in more varying natural light condition. Cost difference is not an issue, I'm concern about the high pixel count and low light performance of the D800, and the poorer built of the D600. I don't shoot video.
Last thing .. we are at the point were top camera have the same immage quality ( as when people was shooting films) what change its the resolution adn the frame for second but d4 610 and d800 have the same immage quality .. if something the d800 and d610 have more details but the are right there ..
I love your videos! I really would like to get into potrait photography, I have a budget of about 900-1200, where would my money be placed best? I need something somewhat for beginers but not too un-advanced because this will be my camera for a few years so as my skills grow I need a camera to be at my level then too. Any sugestions would be appriciated!
A D7100 now is around ~$900 from Adorama at the moment. You could get that and a 50mm f/1.8 (for another $200) and it'd be right in your budget. The D7100 is a great camera. I just realized you made this comment a year ago and you've probably already gotten a camera. lol
Thanks for replying Jibran, actually im a beginner, i just want to buy full frame camera so i will not upgrade in the future, i understand the risk of dust/oil in D600.. so im thinking if i go with D600 w/ expensive macro lens, maybe ill go with D610 and do the reverse/extension tube settings? ive read one of your reply and you said, they resolved the dust/oil in latest D600 batch, is that accurate?
Thanks for your reply. Could you please also let me know if it really make a difference with D610 body if I go with a wide angle lens Nikon 1 NIKKOR 10mm f/2.8 rather than Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED AF-S DX Nikkor, if I intend to shoot at 10mm.
What is the issue you mentioned about importing RAW images into LR4? Is it something related to RAW images coming out of D610? Could you please shed some more light on it and also which fix pack I need to download.
Hi, I am looking into doing wedding and christening photography later on this year and obviously I need a good ISO for this. I have the d3000 at the moment, and was wondering which out of the D600 and the D610 is worth upgrading to? Thanks.
To me nikon d610 its the best camera on the market at the moment .. april 2014 .. d610 destroy the mark 3 hands down .. image quality its stunning .. now nikon wants to sell more expensive cameras and so say that its an entry level full frame ut to me real wedding photography whom dont have 5000 dollars for the d4 must to go with this amazing camera .. the best will be nikon d610 and nikon d800s and its exactly what im going to buy .. first ill change the canon with the d610 and next year ill take the d800s ..
Hello everyone .. i owed the nikon d 800 , now i own the canon 5 d mark 3 .. I changed camera because the nikon d800 gave me problem with focus ( maybe was just me unit ) .. anyway it was the best camera i have use .. Now shooting with the canon 5 d m3 i realized how good nikon is .. dinamic range from an other planet ad also high iso nikon its better because to me canon fake it on the dispay .. everybody go on to say that the d610 nikon its an entry level camera .. but its not true i have been shooting it and i have to say that the d610 its way better then the d800 because of the less resolution ( still very high resolution , ) its more fast , file size are perfect and its faster .. then image quality its also the same the only different y gonna see in some detail and if y wanna print very very big
This whole video was JPEG's? That doesn't really give us the true idea of what the camera captures in RAW does it? Otherwise it's not showing us what the camera is actually capable of...
Buy a D600, get nikon to fix the issue. It's a no brainer. I had my D600 fixed for free and the problem has not returned. They replaced the shutter. Why buy a D610, it's silly.
"It's a great step up from D7000" : that exactly what i'm currently planning to do, selling my D7000 to upgrade to FX with a D610. Thank you for this nice review.
Why did you stop making You Tube videos. I miss you!! Please start up again.
Please do comparison between Nikon D4 and D610 for AF speed in low light and ISO noise.
Thank you.
I am planning to upgrade to D610 from D5100. Pls help me with couple of questions here. Thank You.
1. Lenses for D610 does not need to have AF feature as camera would support it right?
2. Do I need to worry much about VR lenses for D610?
Good review. I think I will stick with my 600 and wait for the next generation of cameras.
Excellent video. Pretty much covered all the manual I had to go through!
The D610. Also known as Nikon's slap in the face to D600 owners.
i have D5100 and i need to upgrade which one u recommend
D7100 or D6100
pls advice me
how about the oil on sensor issue?
So basically if these are Jpegs, then lot over the noise can be done over the RAW right?
I have the Nikon d600 and never had an issue with dust and oil. Do all d600s have this issue? Should I expect this?
why did you try to pull back highlights and shadows on a jpeg? don't you shoot raw?
I have read reviews of "oil & dust" problem occurring in D610 too although this is a good fx camera in mid range but after knowing the issue, not able to decide. Did you notice this problem?
My last two cameras have been Nikon, by after the way they have dealt with the problems with the D600 my next camera will not be a Nikon.
Question for you. First great videos and thank you for creating all these informational videos. So my question, what lense did you shoot with in the cemetery and church? Thanks Rick
Can you do a "what´s in my camera bag" for your gear?

I am using LR3 and you are LR4. Can you please state a few (or more if there are) things that differentiate these two versions. Thank you.

Is that ok to use fx lenses on dx camera so if I can upgrade to fx camera in the future? Thanks.

Looks like that hot pixel is in a different spot in the image at ~19mins. Incredible what digital cameras can do in low light these days really :)

Don't get a D600 unless Nikon has repaired it. It had bad oil problems.
Outstanding presentation!

The budget equipment website does not work properly. There is nothing there... unless you don't use it anymore.
i didn't know you can increase the exposure on the dark area when you shoot jpeg
Check out the Pentax K3 when it's released in a few days.

You are Testimonial Sponsor by Lacoste? :)
great information and thanks
Thank you for your great info.
Sixty-one hundred would be written as, 6100

I wonder how she took pictures of people. more interested in skin color.
say "mechanism" again.
Thanks :)
