I’m planning on commuting by bike to my university. Gas is expensive in the states right now and my university is 14 minutes away from my house on bike. And my schedule is so tight I haven’t been able to get any exercise because I go from University straight to work. So I’m really excited for this.

Close to all offices have a bathroom/toilet area with running water and soap to clean your hands. If there are no showers, still you can use these not only to clean your hands but also your face, cleaning some sand/dirt/sweat from your face and maybe some more parts. Feeling clean makes me feel so much better.
The other tip is you can use that same bike to make a slight longer trip to visit that supermarket or shop. With the intend to buy just a few things. We Dutch often do that anyways.
Can I use engine degreaser to wash drive train?
yes. Works fine.
Here's how to get started, put some pants on. Put your cycling shoes on. Get on your bike. Ride from point A to point B. there you go. you commuted by bike.

Unless the weather is hot and you ride at a moderate pace that's not going to be physically stressful, generally you can wear your normal clothing and shoes.

Nobody wears sports gear commuting by bicycle.

Nice but where´s the helmet dude ? Helmet it´s the first and most important thing when you ride a bike.

Sadly, my work has gotten very strict about people leaving "clothes and other items" at the location. So I have been working to get a milk crate and a rack in order to get my backpack off to relieve the pressure. Hopefully I can make a small hygiene and travel kit for clothes etc
been doin this so long its second nature to me. aint the best ride but it will get there and home NP! lights??? i rarely ride at night!

Get a helmet
Pedestrians & drivers account for four & five times the number of fatal head injuries as cyclists respectively. . Out of all modes the fatal head injury rate is highest for cyclists by time travelled. & highest for pedestrians per mile. So depending on how you count it, there's a good case for wearing a helmet all the time. I find it interesting that the conversation is only ever about cyclists wearing them. Almost like there's a concerted effort by certain lobby groups to ,make this happen. Then when you look at who funds pro cycle helmet groups & it's largely oil, car, road building & insurance companies, who have a vested interest in suppressing sustainable transport.
