I am trying to do this dress which looks like it's going to be a beauty, however I am quite confuse with the first rectangle. In the video, its length is clearly not 3/2 of its width ( since the length is supposed to be 60cm and the width, 40 cm). I tried following the measurements even though it seemed weird but when I have to put the two pieces together, it's impossible for the width to be 40 cm. Something is not adding up. Could you help me ?
I looked closely when you were measuring. Turns out you initial rectangle was not 60 x 40 cm but 60 x 30 cm. That explains why when you fold it in half you had a square and not a rectangle and why you can get 40 cm when you put the two pieces together.

You are right, it has to be 1/4, because it’s only covering one breast. I haven’t seen your comment and cut it out incorrectly. I looked at the video now again, after lots of tears and nearly giving up on sewing 😂😂. I will try this again. Thx!

Hi Jess. I love this dress but I’m a little confused about the instructions. At 1minute 56seconds, you show the 1 piece of cut material that you are hemming, but then at 2minutes 18seconds you show two folded pieces of material. Did you create two of the same pieces and then fold them over? Or did you cut the one piece in half? Thanks

Seam allowance is the space of fabric you need to have when cutting to sew later. If not, the actual size of your clothe will be smaller than you want
