That goal horn has been getting a workout over the past two home games. Sounds lovely. It’s been nice getting to see LCA and Ford Field show off their potential over the past few months 😁🐙
@@YooperHatesOhioState instead, he started a spree of giving contracts to veteran players who failed to produce at nearly the levels they were being paid to. It’s hard to imagine what could have been if Holland had given up the spot for Yzerman when Illitch asked him to.
8:55 this entire sequence from Seider shows how great he is. Blocked a shot and is in a lot of pain which is probably made worse from the first block he had, but he still stays in the play and just clears the puck like he wasn’t even trying.
It is still totally underestimated how much ice time he gets, especially against the top lines of opponents and especially when there are bullies in front of our goal. Many people just look at his +/-, points, assists or goals - although he is a really good assisting and developing breakaways and situations at all, but his main job in defense is to destroy, block, or cover players and none of the Red Wings defenders were that close to Lidstrom as he currently is - and he's still only 22 years old! The boy needs a contract where he will be kept by the Red Wings for a long time and hopefully stay until he hangs up his shoes.
Great to see guys like Rasmussen and Veleno hitting on all cylinders. Rasmussen digging on the fore check leading to goals, Veleno occupying good places on the ice and making high IQ passes leading to goals. It isn't Larkin/Kane/Debrincat, yes, they'll be instrumental in some wins, but it's the tight-knit team - it was awesome how quickly the Wings got to the puck.
Things I appreciate: Fabbri's no-goal early on, Mick IMMEDIATELY calling for a replay and expecting a no-goal call because it appeared to hit Fabbri's hand, and Ken agreeing on the replay. Most announcers would have tried to justify this somehow as being a good goal for the home team. The two best in the biz and it's not even close.
90 comments and not a single one mentioning how great Lucas Raymond was in this game and just how great he's been playing as of late. He is taking his game to a new level. He's becoming an elite playmaker. His passing and possession skills are outstanding and his ability to create offense for his teammates is through the roof right now. Opponents have to know where he is at all times or they'll get burned.
The Red Wings are firing on all cylinders at the moment and a lot of players are playing at the level that you can actually expect from them. A few players play beyond their abilities, that also needs to be mentioned and some other players are developing further and fitting into the team better and better. Lucas Raymond is one of them and you are absolutely right if that is a bit lost at the moment. But that is also because many others are simply more in the spotlight than him and the space there is very limited - there is more focus on Larkin, Kane, DeBrincat, the goalkeeper discussion, contract extensions, - and at the beginning of the season there was also talk about the weak defensive performance in general, than about players like Lucas. He will still have his moment, I'm sure, he's just too good to fall through the _cracks._ For me, personally, he is one of our best players and he is still at a very young age, like Seider, too - Red Wings will have a lot of fun with both of them!
