Calgary looked tired. Raymond is a beast. There used to be a time not too long ago when the Wings couldn't win without scoring at least 4 goals. nice to see a shutout
i have to say props to you! this account is the best. absolute lifeline for me if i miss any games or goals/plays. thanks for getting the highlights out every game and so quickly! 💙LGRW🥳🥳
Couldn't have asked for a much better performance. Reimer with a 38 save shutout, Raymond does his best mini-Nyquist for his second point of the game, another multi-point game by Cane. Good comeback effort to help erase the past two games. Calgary played hard - this was a good win.
7:42 holy Toledo. You want a visual definition of a mugging? 4v1 is a hell of a gang beating. And then, in true hockey fashion, poor outnumbered Fabbri gets two penalties for trying to stay alive.
Yes, but towards the end the Red Wings also received some stupid penalties that were not the fault of the refs and almost risked Reimer's shutout! Sometimes you should just keep a cool head and let Calgary continue to weaken themselves instead of joining in the dirty play.
Not quite sure if im biased, but it seems like most teams we play get away with dirty stuff. I dont know how many punches to the head and crosschecks the refs just over look. Then when Fabri goes afte Backland, he somehow gets 2 penalties. The head of referees and player safety may want to get together and start working on cleaning up this game. The refs are absolute garbage, and crosschecks r just being allowed.
I always hated Kane, of course, as a Wings fan. But now that I'm watching him as a Redwing and NOT wishing him ill, he is truly an amazing player. His vision on the ice is possibly second to none in the NHL. He makes it look so effortless. The passes, the shots, the positioning playing where the puck is going, incredible! I wasn't a fan of the trade to get him, but I'm so glad Stevie Y. is GM and not me!!
@@thenickfoxx in the comments section of all the pregame podcasts/articles/videos of player interviews and on the radio, so many people were saying that we should’ve never signed Kane, that he makes the team worse, he sucks on defense and it’s costing the team, you know, outrageously bad takes. I wasn’t alone in slapping these people. But yeah, it felt good to see kane continue pointing while the team won soundly right after defending him.
@@thenickfoxx Well that plays into it, but I’m specifically referring to discussions that were going on in the comments sections and on the radio yesterday afternoon and all Friday about Kane’s recent injury and the team’s success with him out vs him coming back and losing the last two away games (Edmonton and Vancouver) with him in. Then the team did well with him scoring and assisting in Calgary so their argument (now and from when we first signed him) that the team is better without kane is proven wrong af least here.
I love Patty Kaner on this team. I really hope he calls Detroit home til he retires. Don’t like the shot differential tonight but loves Reimers play. Go Wings.
Ya we still don’t have great D. We allow a lot of shots. Difference between now though and 3 years ago is we do have some semblance of D and we have offensive structure that can go off at anytime.
Reimer easily coulda let in 2-3 goals maybe more. Pretty damn good, Detroit has 3 legitimate goaltenders and that's something not many teams can say. They need consistency! And Kane was looking like Kane 10 years ago. Last goal by Raymond, great asessment of the situation that Calgary wasn't really mobile, if they're gonna let you skate around than why not keep the puck and create!
You’re mad because they give up low percentage scoring opportunities from the point and then sacrifice their bodies to block shots that are legitimate scoring opportunities? 75% of the shots Reimer faced tonight were routine. No traffic in front. Shots from above the circles. Bad angles. He made the stops he needed to give them a chance to win.
@@justincowen441Exactly. I would rather our goalies face a lot of routine shots that they should be stopping and control the rebounds vs. high quality scoring chances. A high number of SOG only matters on paper unless those shots are dangerous.
Can someone please explain to me how the refs didn't call a penalty on Flames at the start of the 3rd period when #91 from the Flames basically sits on the Wings player's stick?!
Full highlights if they win, only goals if they lose. Depending on how bad the loss is, the video may or may not be unlisted but they are all posted on this seasons highlights playlist
Almost. There is one full game highlight video out there for the astute among us where the Red Wings don't win the game at the end. I'll leave it to you to figure out why.
I hate these soft penalties that keep getting called. Like the soft one that got called on Charot. He barely bumped the guy with a very soft cross check and they instantly called it. The guy he bumped, just couldn’t keep his balance.
Yeah, bunch of bad ones going both ways. What was up with Fabs getting 4 minutes for getting mugged by 4 dudes? Lol he didn't even try fighting back. Once the refs fuck up a call it snowballs into one makeup call after another.
@@JoJo-ke5yz Yeah there was one where the flame got called for tripping Larkon, that I also felt was pretty weak, even though I’m clearly a wings fan lol.
This was honestly one of the most disturbing performances I've seen from the wings. I hope it was all rooted to the line juggling, but this won't fly with any team in an actual playoff hunt.
@@Mustang_Dan Both teams looked incredibly shaky the whole game. The giveaways, the whiffs, the bad passes. If you compare gameplay from tonight to the last time Detroit played Tampa or Toronto, you would see a totally different team. Idc how much they won by, they just didn't look sharp. And what's even more disturbing is if you do want to use how much they won by as a consolation, consider the fact that Toronto and Florida just put up 9-2 all in the same night.

If you’re good at math the flames had a 0% shooting percentage while the wings were at 25%. Shot quality. You notice how the Wings just don’t bomb shots from the point and work it around the horn or cycle out of the corner? That’s why they get 20 shots and game and put up 4 goals and are in the top 5 in shooting percentage.

Always look forward to your highlight packages. Excellent!
I was right about Lyon getting tired and it being time to Ride With Reimer.
Didn't expect a shutout, though.
Raymond just SCHOOLED their whole team
He's been doing that a lot this year.
Like Datsyuk used to do the Sharks.
Looked like he was doing his best Yzerman impersonation.
I’m still trying to figure out how Fabbri got two roughing minors on that play. He was absolutely mugged by the entire flames team
Total BS.
There is nothing the ref could say to the coach that could justify that call at any level
Refs were doing all they could to try and keep Calgary in the game for the home fans
Said the exact same thing after that call. Someone ought to make sure that ref doesn’t have bad gambling debts with the mob.
How awesome have the signings of Joe Veleno and Daniel Sprong been? As Mick would say, “Holy smokes”
