You can see how this place eanrd its name! It's pretty amazing how the trail breaks through the clouds above like this to create such a beautiful view across the surrounding landscape
It is a beautiful place, especially since it is near Lake Placid (home to the 1932 and 1980 winter Olympics). Not quite as impressive as your Colorado mountains though.
Despite the foggy conditions, we still had a great time hiking the trail. In fact, it provided a unique perspective on the mountain and the surrounding scenery that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. It was so invigorating that we couldn't wait to hit the trail again the next day, with the hope of catching a clear view of the spectacular vista. Thank you for joining us on this exciting adventure!
The climbing route to Mount Jay is quite challenging and impressive, passing through tree roots and rocks. At the top you can see a spectacular view, true natural beauty. Great effort, my friend 👍

It was still a lot of fun to hike in the fog - it gave us another perspective of the mountain/hike/trail and a good reason to go hike the trail once again the next day in order to see the view.
@@TaintedMango Fog can add a touch of mystery to the landscape, and more often than not, it makes for some splendid shots when it starts to clear. Lucky that you had another day at your disposal to make another attempt.
Great hike! We haven’t hiked in the Adirondacks- looks amazing! Lots of work to do the hike 2 days in a row, but the views were totally with it. Nice that there’s flat rock at the summit/ ridge line so that you can walk around and get more views. 👍👍 Great trail info, thanks!! 😄
