We Love Our Colorado Elk!💗
That’s not a herd, it’s a family reunion of elk!
I’m so lucky to have a small herd living in my community. They are absolutely amazing animals!
Whereabouts? I live in Montana. I see the same herd every morning crossing the road up in the grass range area

Yeah I know that neighborhood. I've done work in it it's really sad because they built this development right through where they knew there was an elk migration trail that had been there for hundreds of years. It always makes me smile when people show videos and pictures of them destroying their property and vehicles. Serves you right.
I'd like to witness this in person just once (a big herd on the move). 😊👍🏻

So what would they bring to the table
Grass?
Elk are very clever. They know where to go when hunting season starts. It's been proven that they do use this as tactic of protection. Recently a herd of thousands of elk moved into wildlife reserve area for protection of the herd, against the start of hunting season. So the elk knew that it's illegal to hunt on that wildlife reserve. So game and fish had no choice but to scare most out of that reserve by flying a helicopter over head and shooting warnings from the helicopter to move them out to help thin out over population of elk, by hunters During hunting season. Which does very effectively in almost every state.

Hanging out on the golf course so they don't get shot. Mmm... elk burgers.🤤
Right down the street from where I live seen about every form of wildlife here now and then took out the trash the other day and a eagle was sitting on my fence about 5 feet from me 😉

Safety in numbers. If you see one, there’s likely dozens more close by.

Is there some reason why deer can’t be farmed like cattle? Is it because they migrate and can leap fences? It seems to me if you had enough space and fed them hay through the winter (or whatever deer prefer) that venison could become another selection at the grocer. And wouldn’t electronic fencing and collars like we have for our dogs to keep them from leaving the property remove the leaping over fences part.
I’m just saying, as the world is supposedly about to undergo famine, farming deer, and keeping them off highways, benefits many.
