- The Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask Nintendo 64 Zelda games both have very different timelines and a missing piece to the puzzle. How did Link in the Ocarina of Time go from Hyrule Castle to the start of Majora's Mask in the woods?

What happened? Well, Link went to the forest, pooped, took a nap, woke up, ate lunch because he overslept and then rode Epona into the Lost Woods. You're welcome. I'll take my check, Nintendo
I got to say, the idea of going back to the forest and Saira telling you that the forest is in danger from the deku tree dying, that's genuinely good writing there. That sounds like something actually from Nintendo

Likely Link was living in a house in Hyrule provided by the monarchs, after all we see Zelda in Link´s dream telling her she was leaving Hyrule
