Speaking of first world problems, as much as I love the audio controls all being on one side on the 2nd gen, I still think they got the skip track and volume buttons backwards. Up/Down should be volume and left right should be next/previous track.

The inability to drive with a door open is a real problem up north. When we drive on a frozen lake we always keep the doors unlatched in case we break through the ice and have to bail. May have to find a fix disabling the door sensor.

Too many buyers are telling themselves 🤔It’s growing on me. Wrong Attitude and Reason for spending 65-85 thousand for a truck. Wait about 5 yrs after owning this truck and see the Cons and Pros. I have a 2023 with 9,000miles and crank bearing failure ... A piece of trim would have been a better deal lol but I think I'll be going back to my 2018 after Toyota buys the 23 back. Also if anyone else is wondering the 23 is less roomy than the 2018 I had and it's really bothering me when I need to stretch out legs and knees but have this huge center console taking up place with rattling plastic. Oh well live n learn ... Was nice to drive before engine failed. I did not get any transmission issues but the throttle hesitation def bad.

I have a 2023 tundra platinum. I don’t have no issues whatsoever so far I have 7000 miles on it. I’ve changed the oil twice myself the first time I found some Debris in the oil pan,. I cut open the oil filter and Harley didn’t find nothing in there. Just a few specs but what came out of the oil pan was small small pieces and it was more than I’d like to see. I’ve been a mechanic for 50 years and I rent a fleet of vehicles semi vans, pick ups and others. so finding a little more than I would like in the oil pan kind of bothered me so I changed the oil again. 6600 miles found no debris in pan or the oil filter. I bought the extended warranty with my truck 10 years or 100,000 miles. Why I did it because these turbo engines and these tundras have only been out for two years so for peace of mind I did it also I broke in my engine The way I always do for the first 500 miles. I would drive it at 55 miles an hour 60 miles an hour 65 miles an hour and 75 miles an hour for short distances and then stay at 55. I did that for the first 500 miles I’m gonna be changing my oil every 5000 miles I think 10,000 miles is too long but I am very happy with the truck so far and All new vehicles nowadays have issues i have a friend that bought a GMC truck and his engine has already been torn apart with 2000 miles on it. They change the lifters the valves because it had a ticking noise put it all back together and it still has a noise so they all have issues. He’s very frustrated with this truck, so we just have to deal with it as we go but thank God that Toyota is putting all new engines in these tundras I don’t know what the warranty is going to be. I don’t know if they’re going to turn back the speedometer to zero because it’s gonna be confusing, if they don’t anyway, good luck😊

I have had my 2024 limited for about 2000 miles and love it. Everything is better, accept it’s hard for me to read the ac controls buttons to because I have bad eyes. Haha.. I have owned three tundras of the two older generations (2005, 2006, and 2018). I was surprised that I actually enjoy driving this more. None of the issues that various videos discuss. Actually, there is one thing. No tow points. Then I thought about it. I’ve had three Jeeps and never used my front tow hooks so hopefully it won’t be an issue.

What about the trying to get in to the back with the tailgate down so annoying. And the truck is so light that when you’re in deep muddy ruts the truck bounces back and forth so hard like that chick dancing with those dudes on that Roxbury movie even with a lift, rims and 35” tires. And that damn interior light fuse that keeps blowing. And the black trim on the rear passenger door caught on the front door and broke luckily the dealership replaced it under warranty but tried to make us pay for the glue. Lmbo

I do not own a Tundra, but have had several Toyotas and was excited about this generation Tundra TRD Pro until I started hearing about all the design issues. Here are issues that are turning me off to the Tundra. The i-Force Max has its battery under the rear passenger seat, negating any storage that most other trucks have there. Low wattage truck bed outlet. The F-150s have generator capability and higher output power receptacles. The remotely started engine shuts off the moment you open the door; what the heck? I can overlook the lack of tow hooks, and low hanging front bumper edges, because I can add aftermarket ones, but Toyota, don't you realize this is a truck? Poor fit and finish with seat trim, rear door trim, window insulation, rattling door trim, rattling center console (I believe they remedied this with a redesign). I am now considering the upcoming Ramcharger or F-150 with redesigned "Pro Acess" tailgate. P.S. The issue with the inability to drive with the door ajar is a huge concern, poor interior lighting is another. Just too many misses with this generation Tundra. Too bad.
