Way back in Chapter 102, there is a little flashback of Meteor City with a bunch of kids playing and a VHS tape. Togashi has been wanting to tell this story for a while and it's going to be great.

Pretty much one of the best chapters seeing the troupe as kids. Only adds to why York new is the best arc in the series
and also why togashi expand to do 20 chapters too touch upon the troupe flashback too tell what occurs with them.

@@ivanbluecool The real question what was the purpose showing Chrollo and kurapika the dino hunter bro. Both loss something dear to them. And the girl Sheila were is her were about. People theorize that kurta clan kill her for the troupe got revenge taking the scarlet eyes. Parstion love to destroy I think his upbringing was much harsher what happened. This flashback is very needed and it great togashi talking about it.
@@laquanlucas6953 uvogen would have probably remembered the kurta clan if they took a family member away. At most it was probably just a job and the girl could be somewhere. If not I'm sure Chrollo would have called out kurapika for killing uvo.
Anyways I'm so hyped for the next few chapters. This was probably what I wanted to see most as the ants didn't have much of a backstory due to seeing it directly while the troupe have a plentiful amount of lore to get through seeing they are basically anime protagonist

I feel like everyone is saying "the phantom troupe is finally getting humanized" as if Pakunoda didn't break the Troupe rules and kill herself to protect her family. Nobunaga was stricken with Greif and still showed mercy to Gon and Killua. Uvogin kisses shalnark goodbye. they've always been human but now we know how innocent they once were
Togashi came back after 3 years with some of the best chapters. You love to see it. I'm absolutely dreading the upcoming hiatus that is to come.

You know, Chrollo didn't have his forehead tattoo in the flashback... and the church was interested in him... and he seems to hide it a lot... embarrassment? or simply wanting to be unrecognizable?

I'm gonna assume that the church is nefarious/corrupt (the pope's design gave me that indication) and needed a talented individual to be indoctrinated so they can perpetuate the control and wealth we currently saw in this flashback (the extravagant castle and its stock contrast to the rest of meteor city etc). So the young and innocent chrollo gets brainwashed and permanently marked by the church (the cross on his forehead and potentially being filled with lies to manipulate/control him). And we all know that kurta clan's eyes were always a desirable luxury that the wealthy would be interested in. Art connoisseurs especially (maybe even the 4th prince) put a bounty on the clan to anyone that can retrieve the eyes. And maybe the church kills one of chrollo's friends and framed the kurta clan as the culprit. And hence the revenge by the phantom troupes.
This would also tie kurapika, chrollo, hisoka, and the 4th prince together. All four geniuses from a young age had different upbringings (some similar than others) and took different journeys/made choices but ultimately ended up in the same place, the black whale.
Also, the church kills one of the phantom troupes because they probably saw the power and unity they had (potentially being taught about nen by the elders) and causing a catalyst for troupes to attack the kurta clan. But in reality, it was a bounty accepted by the church and used the innocent/misguided troupes as their weapon of choice

My guess with the Sheila theory is that when Kurapika and Pairo were treating her leg, the Kurta clan elder found out about her and what she was doing with them and forced her to leave. My guess is that she pleaded with the elder to leave the note which is why we get such an abrupt goodbye from her. She leaves and her leg isn't fully healed (In the manga it said she would try to leave when her leg healed somewhat but when she did she would injure it again). after she is forced out I'm guessing she injures her leg again and dies. Some how the Spider's find out she died (possibly she sent a letter before she got injured telling someone in meteor city where she was) and goes to seek revenge on whoever killed her. The Spider's find Sheila's book in possession of the Kurta clan and proceeds to kill them in retribution for the death of Sheila. That's my guess anyway.
I actually have similar theory to you mate. Though mine is the Kurta actually hurt Shiela. They are pretty xenophobic and it's common for isolated people to kill outsiders (or in dark twist, to sexually assault them).

@@MrGatoradebottle I thought she disappeared without saying goodbye and then later the massacre happened but I'm not 100% but I think that's what happened...
And if it did that gives motive for the massacre other than being absolute evil with no redemption...
For example if the spiders had a reason, then it can be argued when Kurapika finds out the actual reason, it will fuck him up as they aren't unredeemable...
Then it can be argued that the spiders got set up by the fourth prince as he was involved in shelia dying possibly and if that's the case then the 4th price accidentally sent the spiders to kill kurta then kurapika came for them...
But it possibly all links to the fourth prince... And if so that's some good plot bringing everything together....
If so this most likely couldn't happen but spiders and kurapika team up against the 4th prince...

@@ILoveBluePeople well in the one shot it is said that a unnamed girl lost in the woods found the aftermath of the massacre. So my fault it isn’t confirmed her but it’s implied. But if it is her that probably is their reason for the event. I do think they had a reason because of the message that was left

I’m begging togashi not to go on hiatus soon and that this batch of chapters is more extended then usual. You can’t just revive the HXH fandom with a series of flawless peak fiction chapter then disappear for a few years. That is just too cruel.

Judging by his tweets, he's only just now putting the finishing touches on Chapter 400 before I assume he starts manuscripting more often for the next batch. I think there will be a hiatus but not a ong one, maybe two or three months. Question is how sustainable is this and would he be able to keep up with 30 ish chapters a year. Remember her started uploading on his twitter in April and that's after having 6 chapters already finished.

the part about the troupe going after the kurta clan for revenge or something wouldn't make sense unless it was something some of them wanted but not all because uvogin didn't remember the kurta when he fought kurapika and when he did he didn't have any hatred towards him.

Here goes My personal few pieces of theories (somewhat long one)
While spiders help other 2 mafias they arent dedicated to them, so when they will see motre of themself in Morena Crew they will try to help them against Tseri (F his full name) while showing them better path (still twisted in some spider way but over all better), who knows they might even offer her 6/9/12 spot, leading to them having unknowingly same goal as Kurapika.
Add Hisoka geting pass to the 1st tier
[few chapters with lower tiers military and mafia later]
With existence of Tseri friends we can tell he wont mind suposedly equal relationship with people of other statuses, here Hisoka arives on tier 1 and those 2 encounter eachother
[few more chapters where boiling atmosphere starts rising to higher tiers]
And then just imagine:
Chrolo splits from rest of troup learning hisoka location and starts chasing him to the tier 1, where he encounters Kurapika, empty double page panel with just 2 of them standing face to face, next page zoom on their faces with one of them geting empty dialogue bubble. End of Chapter
While Hunter Asociation tries to pacify lower tiers, rest of spiders arive on the tier 1,
With this as a trigger rest of princes with more of power (let's say 1,2,3,5,6) start going all in with last scene being Hisoka and Tseri seating at the table with some tea

Few of Spiders arive at quaters of Tseri where he stays with Hisoka, Theta, and one of his classmates who got nen from morena + all the canon fooder, Bloodbath begins
[supoused Final Big Battle of the arc]
Combat chapters with theta and/or classmate geting killed + 1 or 2 of spiders dying at hands of clown and prince (would bett on Franklin/Machi since Zoldycks will most likely wait on side or retreat Illumi style, while groups with feitan and bonolenov have some AoE moves that would bring notice of rest of the troup on Hisoka location))
With few of spiders dead and other beaten on the flor dors of Tseri room open
Enter 2 people... Chrolo and Kurapika
During 2v2 battle when other spiders start to arive Hisoka decides to bail out with outside help
Kurapika kills Tseri and looks at Chrolo,
We backtrack to their encounter where they talk
Kurapika reflects aloud on slaughter of Kurta mentioning Shila, Chrolo recognises her and both start to reflect on their lifes reaching conclusion that there are more similarities between them that they would dare to admit
We see ship geting close to halfway point, where they will drop kakin people
Asociation clean ups ship, we see leorio comanding medics on tier 3, One of hunters reveals that (let;s say) 4 princes survived tier 1 masacre
Cheadle recives report that Beyond is in his cell but there is no trace of Monkey and King of Kakin went missing
We cut to outer hull of Whale One where we see people standing outside, while one of spiders insist on Nobunaga puting this thing aside untill they kill the triator Hisoka but Nobunaga turns towards person standing on side who is revaled to be Kurapika folowing with Nobunaga demanding duel to death
Illumi drops some excuse and leave, it is revaled that it was him who helped Hisoka
Illumi tells Hisoka that unlike spiders he is also aiming at dark continent since he got his hands on notes of his ancestor about old Netero's expedition and suspects Aluka's power might to have orginated from there revaling to him truth about fake dark continent and immesurable strength of world that lies beyond lake mobius
[Duel of Kurapika and Nobunaga]
Nobunaga with his dying breath holds up to his role as one of combatants of the group requesting Kurapika to end bad blood with his death, as Kurapika gives his word Nobunaga tells Chrolo he fulfiled his duty
We get first replacment of Spider in canon story by defeating curent member and not outside recruitment by boss
What would lead to loophole, where constant presence of spider (himself) would lead to natural permanent Red Eyes making Kurapika pure specialist and overwriting forced version of Empror Time, what would be great powerup for kurapika before dark continent
In last picture we get King of Kakin in secret room (lets say Tier 4.5) with lines in style of "It's to early", "How dare they interupt the succesion", "No, I still have some time"

Next mini arc posibility with my curent scenario
On Fake New Continent Crews get reshuffled
- Beyond and Monkey join up with Crew of Ging/Pariston, knowing troup will folow him to fight either way Hisoka agrees to help Illumi get to DC and both catch a ride with Beyond
- With Kurapika as mediator Spider joins Asociation in chase after Beyond's ship
- Queen Oito also asks Kurapika for help to get out of Fake New Continent to dodge finale of Succesion War in presence of Leorio who instantly drops "Of course We will help" so She and Woble also board Morel's Ship
- Once they depart King atempts push for compleating Succesion but after discovering that Woble is missing so he sends chase lead by either one of strong princes who survived or ilegitimat child from surviving mafia leaders
All leading to 3 way race, at least untill we will get to guardian of DC
Think the Elders just went after all of the former clients of the traffickers which included the Kurta.They bought people to adopt them into the clan to avoid inbreeding. Hard to find mates when you're a nomadic persecuted clan.
The way HunterxHunter foreshadows things reminds me of how Oda places important hints in his series which then you find out later. If only HxH never went on hiatus it could’ve been as long as One Piece 😢 but I’m glad ToGOATshi is pumping out new chapters
”Hunter x Hunter” is better then ”one piece” in terms of storytelling and worldbuilding.But one piece has the rare quality of always delivering high quality art.Then there is ”demon slayer” that does all of the above💆♂️
Hxh always been 🐐 togashi pen game is 🔥. Back than both oda and togashi everyone was in tune with dressrosa and introduction to the dark continent was completing at that time back in 2015.

For sure they won't come out all alive. Chrollo might die or half of the troupe will die. We might see a four way or 2v2 fight with Chrollo, Kurapika, Hisoka, and the 4th prince.
I think once we find out the Kurta backstory, Kurapika will be conflicted about everything. He will go for the 4th prince because of the succession war (protecting prince Wobble), 4th prince has the remaining scarlet eyes and Pyro's head and because 4th prince is somehow connected and might be the cause of the massacre.
Hisoka will then get his proper 1v1 with Chrollo.
The theory is very unlike Togashi. Imo. Sounds more like an Oda thing. For certain Sheila had a part to play in the Kurta massacre but all this ancient kingdom stuff idk.

I hate ships too but I'll be honest I think its implied that Pakunoda does have more romantic feelings towards Chrollo actually (even though she still cares about him in the family way too), chrollo on the other hand is just being innocent and sweet.

I believe that Sheela wasn’t intentionally trying to harm the Kurta. Maybe we’ll see something deeper, maybe she’ll get killed and the Kurta will be blamed for it, maybe they actually did it… it would be a great plot twist if the Troupe actually acted on revenge.
For anyone who watched The Wire, this is giving me the Summer of the Boys season 3/4 vibes. Dark times ahead.

I guess this completely shuts down the theory that Sheila and Pariston were the same person. I've also seen people say that is her death that causes the massacre, but I don't think so bcuz it's said that it was a woman lost in the woods that discovered it so she was alive after, but then, was Sheila being malicious and aware that the Kurta were going to be killed when she spoke to Kurapika and Pairo? I'm thinking perhaps it was a job given by the church and then destroying the Kurta was itself what made them like that?

"The church" is probably a mix of Christianity, Islam and Shinto-Buddhism. The building consists of (at least) three separate styles.

Genocide is the ultimate a-hole indicator! I don't think there is an excuse for it. The troupe are irredeemable, and murder is their first choice to resolve conflicts. I believe kurapika will be murdered by them, but I hope chrollo dies last as he sees his friends die before him

Pakunoda says “it’s a miracle that someone like him could be born HERE”so as far as she knows Chrollo is one of the kids that didn’t get dropped off there but was actually born there.He could still be related to someone who gave birth in meteor city and then left him there,but maybe it’s Oitos mom rather than Kikyo

I've seen some videos where they say that the mafia member that kidnapped the 3 kids at the end, was in fact tsenderitchnict related.
Maybe Shilla was used by that religious group but the spider was the one shouldering the blame because of Chrollo and what that priest wants Chrollo to be in the religious group.

Chrollo behaves normally with both sexes , he was sweet and understanding to the girls but so was he to Hisoka before betrayal who is a guy, we saw him nice to Kortopi and Sharlnak both guys too. He has a charm to attract women probably like how Neon liked him immediately so that's that...he is just charming charismatic and polite
