Pete, I have been swimming blindly in the world of beats, loops and digital drummer, clumsily using my fingers to get through. As usual, you have presented something I never knew. You are a gem. There seems to be no end to GB functions. Thank you!!
Wow, this is awesome. I play my own drums on my songs, but using this to assist me in coming up with cool ideas for drum beats is very useful. Thanks again Pete.
man i love you so freaking much, youve helped me make a huge progress and its a huge deal for my career, i hope i can make us even one day, and make my music warm your heart.
Another super useful video Pete! Just wondering, do you tap the drum patterns on the iPad screen, and do you by any chance have a video where you link up a MIDI keyboard to play GB drums?
I just use 3rd party kits, and I program use section separately like the snare and hh on its own track that way I can make each part of the drum any custom pattern. Sometimes I’ll use the beat sequencer to get ideas.
You took the words right out of my mouth in the end with the info on Logic Pro. 🥁 Why does the velocity only appear when you have 2 tracks of drums and not a single one/
Howdy! The velocity should be there with just the one drum track? Might have just been the way I demonstrated it in the video. studiolivetoday.com/garageband
Your videos are super helpful. I’m currently trying to figure out how I can get it so when I finish writing a song, I can export it and my wife can have it playing in her Apple Music library. Is that possible? I’m using an iPad Pro creating in GarageBand.
Hey there. Not sure there’s a way to actually change the performance form a major to minor key sorry? Maybe ask over at the Create Record Release Facebook group at createrecordreleaae.com, or the Discord group here - studiolivetoday.com/discord.
If I add a guitar instrumental and I don't know how to play other instruments can I somehow add drums or piano or any other instrument to fit my music?
Hey there. I’m not really an expert when it comes to GarageBand Mac sorry. Maybe ask over at the Create Record Release Facebook group at createrecordreleaae.com, or the Discord group here - studiolivetoday.com/discord. Or the GarageBand Users Facebook group. studiolivetoday.com/gbu
...noob question: why does my interface not look like yours? I have a drum machine and a cutout of a drum kit; and follow mode prompts me to create a new software instrument track. I've got to be missing something.
I’m having a little problem. It won’t let me add a drummer track after I’ve opened GarageBand and made my first Acoustic Drums track. Am I doing something wrong?
@@BlindEmpress make sure you’re not on I phone it’s a lot different on iPad and Mac I’m using iPhone and have to figure out different ways to do things when I’m watching these videos

Good question? And something I hadn't thought of. But yes, any audio file can be used as the track to "follow", so if you imported a drum track, it would work.
@@PeteJohnsMusic Reason I asked was once I recorded a drummer who's drums sounded really boomy and I thought I could transfer the track and let Kyle play along so I could get a better sound.
I do respect your job and your content….but I tried both GB and LP IPad to follow your instructions and I got sick of it! Man it doesn’t`t follow the other drum……I need to learn this because I don`t have a drummer to play and this thing doesn’t`t help at all! I don`t know what to do with this anymore. I am not complaining about it but I needed it to solve my issues here!
It’s not 100%. The Drummer can only call upon it’s set group of patterns so it will get as close as it can. Maybe ask over at the Create Record Release Facebook group at createrecordreleaae.com, or the Discord group here - studiolivetoday.com/discord. There’s lots of folks who like collaborating over there.
