Love this build. We just bought a new travel trailer that doesn't have a bunk ladder. My plan had been to buy a commercial ladder that hooks over the curved bunk rail. Unfortunately I've found that the edge of the bunk is made of some kind of cheap plastic with padding wrapped around it. So it has zero structural strength (like most things in modern RVs). 🤬 Your video gave me the idea to go up and over that rail to have the ladder supported by the bunk itself (possibly screwed in) without putting pressure against the flimsy rail. Thanks for the inspiration.
Oh I love this! It is so much better than what we were looking at online. Is yours still holding up? Also, do you have issues with the bunks not getting enough air and if so what do you use?
It's been over a year and the ladder has held up really well! Its still sturdy. Works great for people climbing it, including me for sheet changing. Even the paint still looks great with minimal wear or chipping. It does get stuffy for the bunk beds, so we use a plug in fan at night for airflow.
I don't know how safe it is noting that you cut so much of the wood off the board. It would have maybe looked at hardware in some respect (steel, etc). Even that small notch that is going into the weak portion is even further into the wood. That's all that woods hanging by.
@@beautyfromashesllc8983 if you get a chance great if not I'll wing it. Pretty sure we have the same camper or at least the exact same setup ;) great job though. Got my board ripped and waiting til have time to work on it more
@@Eraera1 I don't understand, you explanation makes no sense. Not being mean but I plan to make one and want to improve the current design if I can. Please elaborate.
Very nice
The frog cameo was stellar!!! 🤩🤣💖

You did a great job! Girl’s rule!
Thank you! Glad you liked it
Fantastic job Girl friend! Looks beautiful
well made!
Brilliant! Can you give an update as to how it's held up please?
Sure! We still use it & it is still sturdy&even the paint had held up after a few years!
Nice job

Wonder if this works on a curve bunkhouse
How much weight can it hold

can you make me one? Please?
What was the height dimensions?
52... until the 4" gap but total height?
I can measure it for you, but just know it'll vary for each campers bunk bed height!

You severely compromised the structure of that wood.
How so?
@@haunthunterify left about 1/4 to 1/2 in inch of wood left. Downward pressure will keep testing that cut out

I see your point....but 3 years later... no issues. It's held up fine. It's supported by the floor, the hook is basically there to hold it in place.
