Congratulations on having a baby. I’m still not having a cycle after 6 months of cabergoline. I’m optimistic about having my own family soon.

I've read that this high prolactin is like a life long thing that has to be managed with meds if one desires to have more children or regular period. New subbie here! Following you for inspiration to keep taking my meds until pregnancy

You know, I think this might be true! I recently got an email from this recent Dr. I saw. She said that she must have read the disk (results) wrong, and that an Endo specialist took a look at it and it is in fact the same tumor I've had. and its at 1.1cm so, I should continue to take cabergoline. I have yet to get my first period again, and get my hands on the prescription 😫 I think I might have to make the drive out there again. So I guess this is something I will have to keep up with for years.
Anyway, thank you for your comment and actually letting me talk about it (this recent news)
I hope the best for you and that you get that positive little surprise soon!

@@NathalyRaya I am here for you ❤ we are both in the same situation because I was told that I have to take it for a long while until I'm pregnant and after too because it the numbers can jump up again throwing off your hormones. I know some ppl are afraid to go under the knife 🔪 but I would do it just to not be on meds for the rest of my life. If you ever wanna chat about things we can are you on tik tok? Or I.g

@@constancejay8440 No knife! It’s done thru the nose. It’s not even called “surgery” by specialists (neurosurgeons). From what I know it’s a quick thing but still requires the best specialist!

    Hi Nathaly,
Do you recall your prolactin levels when you had the adenoma? Also, did you have headaches?
I really, really hope the issue goes away very soon! Sending you good thoughts. 💜

Good that the tumor has not come back. So my understanding is that your "Cabergoline" works against that only by some mechanism. I doubt that the same mechanism works against the cyst. You should ask your doctor, perhaps a tumor specialist to get a second opinion and more explanations, about that. But generally it doesn't sound useful to take the medication if the tumor has not come back over a periode of two years. There I would ask if the medication is preventive, as in not getting it again, or only to treat the tumor. In the latter case taking it makes no sense. And since it hasn't appaered again it seems to prove the point. So monitoring and take action if anything shows up again seems to be the regimen.
But those were my questions and concerns as a layman.

Those were exactly my thoughts. I’m suppose to get an MRI every year. So my next one is for January. I’ll be in Hawaii then, so once I’m there I’ll try and find two separate endocrinologist to go too.

@@NathalyRaya Sounds like a plan. And the good thing is you are in the US then but you have your military health coverage. I understand that it is way better than being on your own (private, personal?) insurance.

I got my period right away after taking my medication however I didn't want to rush until I knew the medication had work and my tumor had shrunk because I knew I'd have to stop taking it if I got pregnant. So I waited a year. then got an mri (tumor had shrunk) and I think after 1.5 years I got pregnant.
unfortunately I miscarried. Didn't try again for another 2 years.

Hi. I wasn’t/didn’t try for 2, almost 3 years because I wanted to take the medication as long as possible to make sure the tumor shrunk.
Which it did. Then I felt comfortable trying. I actually got pregnant right away. The week of.
I will be doing an update video soon.
I recently just went an entire year without taking the medication because I moved, and it was hard to get seen again. But I finally had my appointment last month, and just started taking cabergoline again

May I know what’s the size of your tumor in mm?

    • @NathalyRaya
      @NathalyRaya  Рік тому +1

My first two MRIs 1 year apart they used coins as an example in size. The first time they told me it was the size of a quarter. The second time I went in they told me it had shrunk a little under a dime. So after one year of medication it shrunk more than half its size.

The way I found i had this tumor was because my boobs were leaking milk and I wasn't pregnant. My son half stopped nursing 6 years prior. They didn't put me on meds either. I too haven't gone back to get an MRI. I dont have period issues either. I'm on the IUD so I dont get a P every month. I haven't finished watching the vlog yet. I wanted to type this before I forget.

Thank you. She said she’s curious to see the first three MRIs. She’s wondering if there was even a tumor to begin with. Because she does not see any tumor. Instead she see a cyst. It is very confusing. I’ll be getting another MRI in Jan. So I’m hoping to find better clarity in this
