    Thank you. I don't know if I will grow as a business or not. Right now I am growing for health only. I am diagnosed with colon cancer and am on the back side of surgery. When I recover from my ostomy (21 days!!!), I will dive more into this. Right now I am growing in 10x12 trays, with potting soil. I find your videos extremely helpful. I have gone pretty much full bore on eating healthy, organic, as much raw vegetable as possible. I am happy with the tremendous yields I have seen just growing this stuff on my back porch. If I wind up living, you can know I have you (among many others) to thank! :)

    I've grown the China rose in my garden before. Took me a couple years but here in Michigan I found it tastes better as a fall radish and they got really big and crisp but grown in spring they did get big but shot to seed right away and were super hot/spicy. Their seed pods were fat and also quite sharp/spicy but so crunchy in salads.
    Another great video keep them growing up!

    Hi,
    First of all, I love your channel! Very informative!
    Question: I just bought a couple of sets of the microgreen trays (the smaller size green ones you have) and Sango Purple Microgreen Seeds.
    How much seed should I use in my tray since its considerably smaller than the 10/20s?
    Also, my apartment is a little warm, should I use the Hydrogen Peroxide/water mixture to prevent mold/fungus growth?
    Sorry, it will be my first time and I really want to get it right. I love microgreens and just began gardening this year.
    Thanks!!

    I LOVE radish microgreens! They grow so fast & and are so tasty. Why is it important to fill the grow medium up to the top of the tray?

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 роки тому +6

      They are an incredible variety to grow!! We like to fill ours to just below the top because we find that in the 1inch deep trays, it retains the water really well. We want the medium to be able to hold water for at least 12 hours so we make sure there is a decent amount of the medium in there. Radish drink a lot of water, especially as they begin to grow really quickly! You don't have to fill it up to the top level, just make sure they don't run out of water!
      Thanks for the support Daniel!

      That’s incredible!! Excited to hear how your first grows turn out!! We have done sooo many taste tests between coco and an organic soil and really even between different organic souls... the verdict... every single soil produces a different flavored crop. Its really quite wild how much it can vary. We love coco because if you get a good coco source, you can easily add in the nutrients you want and get a lot more control over flavor. Definitely experiment with a few options for your medium before committing!
      Hope that helps!

      We use 1inch deep trays and we fill ours to just below the top of the tray. It doesn't have to be wet for seeding, but you definitely want to wet it after! We like our coco to be a little moist during seeding so that it all sticks together well and the seed sticks to it also.

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 роки тому +1

      It's hard to say without getting a lot of details about what medium you are using, you humidity, temperatures, type of water and so on... Generally, if you are watering well and they still have poor germination, it is either too much water or too cold/too hot temperatures. We have a ton of airflow so we use a good amount of water to keep our plants from drying out. If you don't have a lot of airflow, drop the watering schedule a bit and see if that helps.

      Great question! We are actually about to start playing around with this more... we haven’t actually tried growing in a room that gets indirect light. You should be able to grow, but they might try to reach for the light, making them a little lankier. I’d try growing a small batch and see how they react to the light given and if they seem to stretch too much, you can try giving a little supplemental light to help them grow stronger! We run our growlights for 17 hours on and 7 hours off. But that is in a completely blacked out grow room. You should be able to get away with much less than that, maybe only 4-6 hours of grow lights needed. Hope that helps Emily! 🤗🌱🌱

    Do you blackout? I’m just starting and am not sure if you blackout with everything. Thanks. I’ve been watching a bunch. And I did buy stuff through t your Amazon page

    after cutting, will they grow back?

      Great question, only a few crops will do that. We have found that about 95% do not grow back.

      Great question! Currently, we use 0.5oz per gallon of water. That has worked really great for us! 🤗🌱🌱

      On The Grow does the ocean solution make a difference?

  • @cheng8881
    @cheng8881 2 роки тому

    You guys let your Radish go for an additional 5 days after blackout, whereas mine, I have to cut during day 3, as the true leaves are popping out, not opening up, just popping out, usually around the sides. The middle is generally fine. My cotyledons are nowhere near as big as yours.
    What is my issue? Low-quality seeds? Heat too high? Humidity too high?
    BTW, I am growing China white, my end harvest is around 340g~

    did you mist the top each day or just bottom watered since day 4

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 роки тому

      We misted the crop twice a day for the first 4days, then once it was introduced into light we began bottom watering.

    Does the ocean solution make a difference?

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 роки тому +1

      Yes! We have found that adding nutrients to microgreens can greatly effect the outcome of the crops. For example, nutrients can accelerate the growth, change the flavor and even appearance of crops.
      We like to use Ocean Solution because it speeds up the growth and it’s organic! 🤗🌱🌱

    I notice you didn’t said the seeds. Is there a reason you didn’t? I have the same radish seeds from True Leaf and am 2 days into germination with no noticeable germination yet. Any advice? Thanks!

    Hi I have a doubt, is Pink Radish and China Rose Radish the same?

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  3 роки тому

      They are definitely different.. China rose is a winter radish, whereas pink radishes, like the pink beauty and pink summersicle do better in warmer months. check ou the article on diynetwork.com about growing pink radishes. 😀 Aditya Raghu Again...we really benefit from your support and nice compliments!!!
