  • I'm Back!!!!
At least for this week, After the last video and letting everyone know how busy we have been getting ready for some crazy big shows. I'm happy to report our first multi day fair went excellent! it was so nice stretching our wings and getting a bit out of our comfort zone. Everything was extremely well received and we made a ton of new connections. Along with selling a large volume of our inventory (double edged sword) we garnered a bunch of orders. We have K&O Kansas Oklahoma gas and steam engine show coming up in less than 2 weeks. then we have to gear up for September for the Bluegrass festival! this has potential to be our biggest show ever (so long as the pandemic doesn't shut everything down again.
The sunflower is a fun flower to produce and it leaves a ton of room for creative freedom. I do a large assortment of variations, this was a semi simple one but they can be as detailed or ornate as you wish. I sell this style at Approximately 16" tall for around $80 USD in our store. Materials used are listed in the video.
on a personal note, one of my children has surgery scheduled for the 13th of this coming week, I will be taking a week off to tend to him and assist my wife with moving him around. He is 12 and is handicapped. He has Cerebral Palsy with spasticity in the lower limbs and is mentally delayed. We are having surgery to hopefully prevent major surgeries later on with his legs. To be frank I'm a nervous wreck . As a father making the decision to (even for the greater good) for your own son to have a procedure of any kind is bothersome. I'm sure he will bounce back and be in tip top shape soon enough but will not be able to use his legs without knee immobilizers for a while.
Templates: I have to touch base on this, Thank you all so much for all the continued support and purchases of the templates. I hope that everyone has enjoyed them so far and has created wonderful things with them. With that being said please know that I have a ton more in the works coming in the future. from simple to complex I plan on making templates for darn near everything I do. Once life slows a bit (winter months) I will have a bit more time between forging to get back to the drawing board.
After Bluegrass we should start getting back to our weekly uploads.
As always thank you all so much for your time
hope to see ya'll soon enough.

Is there a reason why you didn't pound the fence post top down before welding it to the flower?

Since sunflowers have the seeds in a Fibonacci spiral, is there an easy way to get the Fibonacci spiral bend for a 3"- 5" spiral chisel?

Seen the magnet in the video of you making adjustments and the transformer logo for your son's wheel chair, was wondering if you made the magnet, now I know, thanks for adding that in👍

Very nice, and I love all the improvised tools! Where could I find a scrap gas cylinder with a concave bottom like that?

Allot of times local weld supply shops and or cylinder supply companies have access to damages or dropped bottles that have been decommissioned. The material is about 1/2" thick or more on the bottom and 1/4" thick on the sides perfect for dishing. Thank you so much for watching.

Good video Chris in spite of the power outage! Hope to make it up to the K&O show if life doesn't get in the way. Your son will be in my prayers this week.

Thank you and honestly I've had really good luck with Rust-Oleum two times coat it seems to hold up better and it's cheap enough that if a client puts the item outdoors and they need to touch up it it doesn't cost a fortune. I've tried krylon but it just doesn't seem to Fair as well the rustoleum actually gives it a deeper wet look which really brings out the different colors
