Hey, quick question for your live reviews of wedding videos what music license sites are you allowed to show? I am with epidemic music atm, as I cant afford the prices of music bed at this time. Thank you!! And thanks for these reviews it really helps us out!
Have that lens and uses it more or less 98% of my footage/filming. One day i noticed that something had happened with the near limit. It went from 190mm to around 20mm, but that i really happy for, will never fix that "problem" as long as it works. A super sharp lens !!!
Love my Tamron 28-75! Been using it as my main lens since 2019 and shot lots of solo weddings with it! I do need to invest in some primes ASAP though 😆
That's a versatile lens, for sure. With this and a body featuring the APS-C reframing function, one can be set for event coverage... weddings, events, news, corporate. Some kind of optical Swiss knife. Just in case you want to have a look at South of France, after touring Northern Europe, let me know. I'd gladly take you around... from Provence to the Atlantic coast, this is my place and it's just logical I've been a location scouter for many films and photographers. Canyons in Provence, Medieval "Cité" of Carcassonne, sand beaches from "Bassin d'Arcachon" (the Bay of Arcachon) to "Pays basque" (the Basque country), prehistorical treasures of Périgord (the kingdom of truffles and castles) and so many other places I could mention... I'll be your guide. Just ask and you'll both have more than enough to fill up a full set of memory cards. Promised ! ✋️😌
I just wanna say I fucking love this lens, no hyperbole it changed my life when I got it a year ago and started playing around with it. But I honestly don't use it for weddings. I use my Sony 50 & 35mm 1.8 lenses on my gimbal for that sexy swirly blurred background and I generally only change from the 50 to the 35 when we go to dances. However This is the THE documentary interview lens. I move around like a ninja with my monopod for interviews, but i never feel like i'm too close or far away from someone i'm interviewing. Perfect framing every time. This is also a great photography lens, i take it out with my A7iii every once and awhile and do concert photos. I love this lens to pieces but it usually stays in my bag during weddings.
Hi matt I have a question for you in MacBook purchasing guide video you told us to get MacBook pro 14 inch (2023) with 1TB,16 GB unified ram so i have a budget issue,so can i go for SSD storage for extending my storage or i really need to buy that 1 TB variant? Please guide me as i am new to this If anyone else have any suggestions about that please let me know Thank you😅
I've just ordered the sigma 28-70. I don't know why people are ignoring this lens over the Tamron, probably because the Sigma is come out later. It's the same price in my country as the Tamron, but the Sigma is even lighter, it's parfocal as the Tamron is not, and it has the af mf switch. Anyway I used to work with art lenses and with a Ronin S, so now I'll have the RS3 Mini thanks to you Matt, and the Sigma 28-70. Whole gear is under two kilogramms with camera body.
@@henakosYes, my friend bought the Sigma 28-70 and this Tamron G2 is miles sharper. I've seen them both in person. I've had the Samyang 24-70 2.8 for about a year and I ordered this G2 lens to replace it because tbh I don't use the 24mm that much and prefer 5mm extra reach but the biggest reason is that the Samyang is just too big & heavy at over 1KG. I'll sell it soon.
Thank you for this video!! I just bought the Sony A6700 (IBIS) with the kit lens (16-50mm F/3.5-5.6 PZ) and I don't even know if I should get the Tamron 17-70MM F/2.8, Tamron 28-75MM F/2.8 or the Sigma 18-50MM F/2.8 DC DN CONTEMPORARY. I need an "all-in-one" lens for weddings filmmaking. What would you buy in my case ? (I don't really care about the size or the price of the lens, but more about the image quality, autofocus, etc). Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
Not sure if anybody is going to come back to you. Or, if you've already found your answer. But just to be sure. This video was (probably) made with a full frame camera body in mind. Meaning that 28 wide end, is 28 in full frame. On your crop body a6700, that 28 would be more like a 40mm full frame. And I'm guessing that isn't wide enough at all. Ironically, your kit lens would more or less provide you with the same focal range as the 28-75 (on full frame). Just a lot faster at f/2.8 Out of the options you've mentioned. The 17-70 would seem like the preferred "all-in-one". Especially, since that would be more like a 26-105 full frame lens, which covers far more than the 28-75 in this video (on full frame). In any case, good luck, and enjoy buying your next lens!
Sony had a similar lens for the a-mount. It suck at 2.8, but it was good a f4.5. Also, it was cheap and light compared to the Ziess version. Hope Sony releases a e-mount version to compete with this Tamron. Even if is a Tamron rebadged 😅😅
we have the 1st gen version and shot a wedding w/ it (along w/ others). it did really well. speaking of which, can you review our wedding video? i've been 2nd shooter and my wife's been a 2nd photographer, but we've never done a wedding together before. it was my first wedding where i was lead video (as well as editor), and my wife's 1st wedding video.
I have the Tamron 70-180 which is a logical companion. My Tamron 28-75 is due to arrive tomorrow - I've been using the Sony kit lens for a couple of years for this range, and want to upgrade. The kit lens is OK, but I want to match the 70-180 and keep everything at f2.8 and set the ISO. I have a Samyang 18mm f2.8 for the wide shots
I've just tested version one on a wedding. It was fine all day, at night with low light it was a bit slow and I had to set it to manual to capture some fast dance moves. But it was still usable so probably the version II af is better a bit.
prime for lowlight and bokeh. 24, 35, 50, choose one :) 1.4 art, or f2 contemporary@@terrencejones2057 or if you don't shoot in low light, get a 70-200mm
Matt did you actually know that Bokeh is pronounced Bow-kay haha? I laughed when I learned the other day when a couple of people autocorrected me! Regardless, amazing video as always :-)
What other lenses should I review??!

@@nikkideanvideography4587 Hey! Unfortunately I can't use Epidemic, but I can use music from Musicbed, Track Club, Soundstripe, and Artlist.

been using this since 2019 Version 1 and now this, filmed more then 100 weddings on them.
Yep! This is the first lens I got for my Sony for my wedding film business. I have since purchased many more lenses, but this is still my main lens.

I have the 1st version and I'm very happy. Its been a great all around run and gun!
This is the cleanest 28-75mm I ever saw! Love mine !

The only lens I use for weddings. I think about getting the sigma 50 1.4 to get some more creamy shots.
Bonjour Matt, very interesting video again.my question is what do you think about the tamton 35-150mm F2.8 for wedding filming ? merci

I use this lens for all my wedding since 2019 !
Have you ever done a review on this lens Sony E 15mm f/1.4 G Lens
How about for modeling shoots? Some up close shots and also video?
Please do a video comparing this lens to Sigma's 28-70 f/2.8 Contemporary lens!
Tamron is lot sharper, Sigma is smaller.

canon version?
I shot this weekend with this lense it was a game changer for my fx3. What medium range lense do you use?
Tamron 35-150 zoom lens is amazing, just very heavy

nope, e mount lenses wont work for canon mount.
my gimbal lens tbf
so what is the difference between version 1 and 2?

17-70 2.8 would be a perfect lens
Oh yes.
Even a 20-70 f2.8 would be great.
Small & light.
This is my only lens!!!
What should I get next???
I got Sony 20mm f1.8G. And I think 85mm 1.8 could be nice too@@terrencejones2057
prime for lowlight and bokeh. 24, 35, 50, choose one :) 1.4 art, or f2 contemporary@@terrencejones2057 or if you don't shoot in low light, get a 70-200mm
A prime!
