    I worked in the home for a number if years in the late 90s I worked in at mirin predominately but have worked all over the home x found it interesting that tracie picked up people sitting in the chapel area for a time this was used as a dining area x footsteps are notoriously common one night we rung the police because we believed there were squatters in the attic area when they investigated they told us if anything it was rats aye with size 8 boots on lol it's believed there is underground tunnels leading from paisley abbey to many building around paisley for the monks to visit without being in public so monks being present is very likely x there were 5 units 4 in the main building and 1 off the basement x this building is very eerie and lots of unexplainable things happened chasing residents who disappear do a bed check to see who's unaccounted for only to find no one was yet more than one person saw the apparition mists would form and fill corridors and noises from empty rooms x defo think some one to guide you in locations as large as this would be a huge benefits in my experience the chapel was spooky but it didn't feel sinister x

      Thank you for your info on the location. We didn't know the church was once used as a cafe! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks x

      There's one tunnel that goes from the RAI to the RAH my dad walked it many times when he worked as a porter and later a telephonist .. my mum was a nurse/ward sister for a long time and St Margaret's and Barshaw too. I had my tonsils and adenoids removed at the RAI when I was 5yrs old then much MUCH later (1990's) I worked as a hairdresser in the part that was opened as a care home I absolutely hated the big corridor with the chapel in the middle going towards the Mirrin wing. The rooms had a very heavy feeling and I dont know when it was done but the whole upper most part of the building was locked up which was used extensively to treat soldiers wounded in ww11 the nurses would talk about hearing shouting for a nurse or screams of pain especially at night. St Margaret's just up the back on the hill had a resident 'Grey Lady' who was seen mostly on the top floor where the changing rooms were .. the nurses wouldn't go up unaccompanied.

    I worked as a Porter in the RAI. It was strange that after the hour mark when checking out the old Chapel the background music changed to a Church Organ. As a Porter, one of our security duties was to accompany the hospital cashier around as he emptied the public phones. Can`t remember his name but, he was a small, slightly disabled old man who had a severe limp and hunchbacked. Most days during his Dinner break he would go to the old Hospital Chapel and sit a play the big Church Organ. It was nice to listen to but, also quite spooky so you can imagine the `feeling` I got at that point of your video. Having worked there I can tell you it was just as spooky when on the night shift. Especially taking a Corpse over to the Mortuary in the wee small hours. I also remember those big hinges from the Chapel door. May I suggest that if ever you check out the old place again, try and find someone who used to work there. They would know their way around. Keep up the good work. Neil.

    Myself and others were in here last week, and we noticed a weird bang after I said 'Its funny that nothing creepy or scary has happened yet!'..We left and decided to come back a few days later, whilst walking about in the abbey unit, we asked if anyone was home to then be greeted by a bang, we repeated ourselves and got a bang this time, louder and closer. We wandered around the building with our mouths shut and we heard no more noise, we ended up back upstairs and then announced our presence to be funny and we heard and even louder bang that then got even closer to us whilst we ran. It was really thrilling and so cool, would definitely suggest you guys go back and focus on the the whole of the upstairs. Especially the abbey unit!

      The Abbey ward was one of the scariest to work in even when it was it and looked good , we had lots of weird experiences in that ward, and the Tannahill !!! The coats !!!! got me thinking now about all our experience's in there we had the police out on lots of nights there was always something happening in there.

    Place dates back way further than the 1900s. There's a bit up the roof that's only accessible by crossing a metal bridge. You don't really appreciate how tall the building is until you are right up on the roof. The bridge is in 2 parts and we got to it through a skylight in the roof. One part is ancient and rusting and a little shaky. The bit that actually has a drop below it is fairly modern and solid. Got a nice pic of the drop from it whilst I was up. I found a Metro freebie paper date 16th February this year. Did yous find the old safe? We found it in a room that looked like it could have been a doctor's consulting room. There might be some really old medication in it.

    At 15:38, when the torch light was in the tunnel, it hit a black shape that was huddled in the tunnel, it wasn't there when the light returned.
    It looked like the shape of a person in a fetal position.
    When you heard something falling, it sounded plastic and like it had been dropped or thrown from a small height, maybe bounced against a wall or the steps.

      that area when i worked there was where most sightings of the grey lady and also a bearded man would appear, i seen a nurse i worked with one night who was uncontrollable after seeing the bearded man down the tunnel on her way to the patients kitchen.

You always say about rating it higher once you've seen it! lol There was two trollies but i think we would have to drag the other one from the floor above down to the basement and no doubt one of us would have ended up in A & E! Don't go putting ideas into my head though! haha Yes will be in touch I can't wait for next one too :D

    I live just around the corner from the RAI and my great gran was in the nursing home there. She used to talk to a nurse called Claire when i visited but there was no one there! Her room was at the corner of Abbey Wing and the tower was her toilet. I definately believe it is haunted. I am a paranormal investigator and empath and would love it if you could give me a shout next time you go xxx

      I worked with Claire on night duty a great nurse and hard worker. seems only like yesterday after watching this video, it was weird to see it in that state , last time i was in the building it looked really good it just been decorated, the place actually had quite a majestic feel about it up on the wings , but as you headed away to the kitchen area it was very scary and not a good feeling from the place at all.

    2 nights ago I found that there is still an easy to access way in. If you come in to the ground off Calside and go right to where the new fence was put up to block off the bowling green side there's a huge gap in the fence, so no climbing or squeezing through gaps. Walk along the bowling green side of the building and you'll find a window that has had the Sitex ripped off. I don't think workies visit the site very often so that way in should be available for a while.

    • @flororison4421
      @flororison4421 8 років тому

      Yey someone found my entrance! The door next to the window was open for quite a while but went back a couple of weeks ago and the window had be opened a tiny bit.. Opened it a bit more :) There was a couple of woman there we went, making sure everything was still sealed but didn't find that bit :)

    I read that dragging sounds have been heard coming from the empty attic and that it is supposed to be haunted by a grey lady. Also I heard that some of the beds would move by themselves. My dad told me that he was in there sick many, many years ago but the only weird thing he ever saw was a patient on the same ward with a bad temper who would throw the contents of his potty at the nurses.

    When did you make this video? I live across the road from the old RAI. A big chunk of it is now flats but there's still a huge bit of the old building that's still disused. It's a shame that most of its old stain-glassed windows are smashed. You can still access most of the old building through the Calside entrance but I think all the ways in now are blocked off with Sitex. Think you would need a crowbar now to get in. Because most of the windows now have sitex blocking them there wouldn't be much in the way natural light available. Heard the nursing home bit got shut down because it was a total shite-hole and there was a lot of neglect of the patients.

      Well, I could not get into the building. It is all boarded up. However, walking around the outside itself gave me the creeps.
      Probably not as bad as my outside exploration of Rosslynlee Hospital (Previously known as "Midlothian and Peebles County Asylum") That place can give you the creeps just walking around it. I went into a building, but the floor was pretty unstable, floorboards missing. So, I went back out, as I did not want to fall through. I am not the lightest person on the planet either!

    We found a store room that we think belonged to the nursing home. You access it from the outside. In it was giant bags of unused 5ml medicine spoons and 1 litre glass bottles that were still in the box. We want to go back with torches because the store room is massive but one of us had to hold the entrance open and that give it only a little natural light.

      that store is near the kitchen they used to store like bed pans, and other equipment , it was a bad place to have it as you had to go all the way down the stairs and along the huge corridor to the kitchen and the store very scary for the girls that worked there at night , they were glad when i was on duty as they had someone to protect them i have never felt so wanted lol. they were a great team to work with and we had a lot of laughs and hard work in that building.

    I live round the corner and Im amazed the neighbours didn't call the police, as they are hyper vigilant round there.....even when innocently walking your pooch round the old building ;) I enjoy urbex but you gotta get some kevlar "ultra boots" for the dog - my dog comes on all my explores and between the glass and the needles they are a great investment. After all, dogs are useful for sensing either security, rats or more unexplained goings on :) Enjoy your next s'plore :)

    Hi there, is there anywhere I could find a floor plan, the place is like a maze lol, was here couple of weeks ago and going to go back soon, hopefully vetted prepared :)

      +Sean Mulholland No idea about floor plans for the building unfortunately. I guess you just have to roam about in the dark literally lol, like everyone else. Perhaps try google or local library :)

    @37:51, when your team separates like this Walkie-Talkies or some similar device would be ideal.
    In case one party hears something, contact the other party to see if it was them.

    I don't think they should take the dog in because its abandoned and there could be sharp objects in there or needles about on the ground

      +Saul Preston It's all good. The dog owners have or are planning on purchasing some specialised paw protection for the dog for future locations where there may be risk. Thanks.

    Still accessible just went in tonight, someone has managed to actually bend the fence right open so you can just walk in, one you turn the corner left, left again, on the left side of this tower block theres actually a door thats fell over and you can just walk right in
    Didn't feel much to be honest or get anything
    But we did find that trolly haha and a doll hanging on a wall by its skirt

    Was interesting, but I feel subtitles should have stayed consistent throughout the video.

    • @ScrappedInScotland
      @ScrappedInScotland  9 років тому

      Sorry about that. We're hoping that UA-cam will provide an automatic subtitles feature in the near future as it's too difficult to put subtitles throughout the full video, especially at an hour and a half long lol. Guess that's the issue with online... many people have very strong accents or speak a different language altogether! Hope you're well and thanks :)

    Considering a Wee look inside here. How do u get in without climbing fence etc. I went to it once with friends but we didn't go inside. Just looked around outside. But we climbed over the fence to get in. Would love to get some photographs of the inside. Going back soon so hopefully find a better way to get in other than climbing fences and looking dodger lol.

      I was there yesterday with a few friends and we got in but it seems they are closing up all ways to get in fast so I didn't give away how to get in that much in my video in case they see it and lock it up. If you have been before then if you watch my video I'm sure you'll make out where the way in is :)

      I would not go i worked there for years and still didn't get to know the place it is a maze, when we called the police for noises coming from the kitchen etc i had to take the cops around they didn't have a clue, the crew that made this film i am sure must have been shown around to make this video as no one knows about the tunnels underneath you would need to be shown that.

    i aslso noticed iin some of ur hunts u have captured orbs..in which u didnt replay../?

    • @ScrappedInScotland
      @ScrappedInScotland  9 років тому

      Orbs are a tricky thing. We only highlight them if they come across as very impressive now as during filming on large locations for sometimes a total of 6 to 7 hours, we catch all sorts of flying debris, most of which we choose not to highlight unless like we say... the movement of the orb is suspicious or very impressive. :)

    • @ScrappedInScotland
      @ScrappedInScotland  10 років тому

      Naturally all 7 of us in the video don't 'all' have the dog there with us. The owner of the dog prefers to bring the dog for a couple of reasons and none of the rest of us personally have anything against it. I think we are looking into getting covers for the dogs feet though so it's all good :) Thanks for watching though :)

    dont just walk through most of ur hunts in silence..u need 2 invite the spirits more..talk out about the history while asking out..get angry with them if they dont respond...

    • @ScrappedInScotland
      @ScrappedInScotland  9 років тому

      Apologies for late reply. Given the sheer size of this location, we all were a bit guilty of roaming around more then we usually do... however there are many times where we do our best to communicate with spirits in this video more towards the end. Not sure how we feel about being aggressive to a huge extent with spirits yet but it may come to that lol. Thanks :)

    What about asbestos

    • @ScrappedInScotland
      @ScrappedInScotland  9 років тому

      Just do what every other photographer and explorer does: stay away from it and don't go near it as much as is physically possible. I guess so long as one isn't stealing metal pipes and sawing and hammering away at things a delicate roam around shouldn't be too risky on that front.

  • @IRL-ins
    @IRL-ins 5 років тому

    Kinda irresponsible to take your child in there when there's so much disturbed asbestos laying around. Hopefully he is alright but could end up with lung cancer down the line. Hey, you got a cool video though haha.
