  • Honestly, I wasn't expecting to like the Performance Golf One Wedge. But after testing it out with all kinds of shots, it's been in my bag ever since. Here's why.

    I wonder how much difference in design there is between these clubs and Cleveland's SmartSole wedges. They both seem to claim the same benefits. Any thoughts?

    Hi Sean, I bought all three wedges and went to the range yesterday to compare my PXG Wedge vs the One Wedge. I was disappointed with the results but possibly due to the fact that the One Wedge was approximately one inch shorter than my PXG. Today, I returned the wedges to Performance Golf.

      Good to know, and sorry you had a bad experience! Could definitely be the length, but also the One Wedge vs a PXG are two completely different wedges for different needs. Certainly not going to be as precise as the PXG - but should be considerably more forgiving out of difficult lies.

    Love the video. I bought the Cleveland's SmartSole gap wedge a few months and love it. One of my most used clubs. This seems to be VERY similar. I do love the educational information available by Performance Golf.

    I bought the PG One, 56 degree, wedge about a month ago. I am a mid to high (around 16) handicap and wasn't able to see a difference between my Ping Glide 56 degree when I used the techniques shown on videos from PG's with the Ping wedge. My big negative is the same as yours on not being able to control distance. I can't seem to chip one less than about 40 feet but after your review I'll go back to the range and see if I can improve my opinion of the club. I'll be interested to see your follow on experience with this club.

    Nice review. Callaway had a club much like that a while back called Sure Out and it worked. But they took them off the market...So these should do well....

    I love my 56° vokey and would definitely still stick with it for longer pitches… but my bunker game and my 60° are a liability. I know you recommend the 56°, but do you think the 60° would help with that extra rollout you’re trying to get used to and still be a good bunker option?

    While using this new wedge, has your handicap declined and by how many strokes from a 10 hcp? Thanks.

    Want to add my voice, Performance Golf does treat their customers well, VERY WELL, Bought one of their products and it didn’t provide the advertise results for me and I requested a return. I got a full return credited to my account not including the shipping, but that’s only fair. The point is if they offer a return policy on a product you buy, they stand behind it and deliver on it. Glad to see this review because I have been considering purchasing this wedge but like you was hesitant. Honestly still am. I have the Kirkland wedges and if I’m honest, I love them everywhere but in the trap right now, I’m just not sure I wanna dedicate one of my clubs for sand traps only, so I haven’t purchased the wedge. However, if I have a few more bunkers that I can’t get out of one wedge may get a trial in my bag as well.

    I bought this wedge about a month ago and distance control is my issue as well. Very nice club just don’t really know how to use it yet

      Yeah, personally I've found my main use for it to get me out of bunkers. But its worked really well at that, so I've continued to keep it in my bag.

    The advertisement ive seen has lead me away from the product. Seems like every other golf gimic / training aid with cheesy golf claims

    Youre main complaint was distance control... It would have been nice to see your distance control with your NORMAL wedges vs the One Wedge... if you have problems with distance control with your normal wedges.. than the issue isnt the club..

    • @breakingeighty
      @breakingeighty  Місяць тому

      Fair point! Distance control with my wedges for chips and short pitches is generally one of the strongest parts of my game.
