I just love how well you two work together. I know you don't film or you edit out the frustration exhaustion and arguments that everyone has, but overall, you two are a great team!
We still have a loooong looong way to go. But it's been fun putting together cabinets and beds in the hulls now, watching her come together even further.
Great channel very detailed account of the build process. Only thing that comes to mind is the time frame for the build. I cannot help but feel that time in your thirties is very precious. The question I would be asking myself is do I want to be spending my time glassing and grinding a yacht for a year or two or sailing the worlds oceans? Then I am twice your age 😜 😊
We have no reason to stop from sailing in the future though. 😉 So although we're taking about 2-3 years in our 30's for this project (which we genuinely love doing), we'll still have our 40's, 50's, and 60's to be on the water.
Now that I've seen you drink that Athletic Greens a second time, I'm going to go to the site to check it out - could be what I need to start out my new year.
You guys constantly blow me away with the epic scale of what you are doing. I look forward to your posts, and you will end up with an amazing catamaran. Thank you for all your posts and happy 2022 :)
I found your channel when you showed us the aluminum sailboat. I must admit I was amazed at your strong dedication to each other and to the daily grind but you two stayed in the game and made it. Sailing something you built was the reward. Now to see you two doing it again with a 42 foot cat is a joy. I think you two have a very strong relationship. Some say marriage is a 50%-50% endeavor compromising to make it work. I disagree. I think both persons have to give it 110%-110% to reach the level where you two operate. It's a very beautiful thing to see two young people take on life's adventures and make it. you two better hold on to each other tight and appreciate it. It's a beautiful life and rare among marriages these days. I got lucky and found my 110% girl and kept her for 30 years now.
Gosh, it's really starting to look like a boat!! You must be so exhausted - to build for over a year! Wow. It's looking great - keep up the great work!
Great job. I enjoy the tenacity and drive you guys show to take on a job as big as this. I’ve seen guys jump into a hot rod builds and lose motivation and they sit because life happens and money runs short any number of things. One this is for sure it will be an awesome cat when your done.
Thankfully we took on a 2 year rebuild of our aluminum boat and had some idea of what was in store for us, lol. If we hadn't done that - and didn't know what kind of lifestyle was waiting for us at the end - it would be a completely different story, haha.
My only comment other than NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE WORK‼️‼️ Is, of course you knew you would get this far otherwise you would not have begun. Leadership and determination are fun to witness. ✌🏻️
I just can't believe the incredible progress you've made! After following the exhausting journey Ross in Oz has made in 5 years and countless emails with many designers including Tony Grainger, Chris White, Schoinning,...etc left me convinced a diy cat-build is just too hard! You are gradually growing hope that it can be pulled off! Thank you for sharing. Brian, Top Hat 25', Sydney
We're still so thankful we went for the option of the 3D molds for our build. It has made life much easier than if we'd gone with flat panels. And, at least we know the exterior will have a professional look to it, lol.
Sealed compartments are nice for floatation but you must include a way of getting access for inspection (it may leak...). A simple plate hatch bolted onto a rubber gasket perhaps? Keep up the good work :)
I have a question on the spaces that are sealed for floatation. Now that we have products where you take 2 parts combine them, then pour it & it creates a foam that expands to a predetermined amount based on volume of the mixture as a liquid. Would that not be safer than an air filled void for floatation ? if there's unfortunate event where those floatation chambers got punctured ?
I think it's absolutely incredible that you've taken on a project this size. Though, I watched your rebuild of your aluminum sailboat, and it was a Complete rebuild. I think what amazes me most, is 5he amount of time you take from the build process to set up cameras, the rest for new shots, and, the part most don't know about, the hours upon frigging hours it takes to edit and build these videos. ]Bows reverently[
You both do know what’s going to happen when you complete this beautiful project don’t you? The boat orders are going to come flooding in…. Luv ya both…
An other great video. I don't know if you've ever heard of a deisel powered heater often called a Herman Neilson (sp). But there often used in western Canada and elsewhere to provide temp heat in the oilpatch and construction to allow progress to continue. Even in minus temperatures. Just a thought.
Was just up in MD over the Holidays. My daughter lives in Annapolis and I'm always talking about your project. She bought me one of your Tee's for Xmas ! One of these days when I'm back up that way I'll stop by and see you guys. We made it back to FL before the snow ! you guys are doing a great job !
Awww, that was very sweet of her! I hope you like it. 😊 Yes, we hope you find your way to Kent Island sometime so we can show off the progress of the build. Just shoot us an email if you think you'll be over here anytime.
Things are looking amazing, & what's really amazing is that since you first unloaded the container, you guys have only needed extra help like half a dozen times. You couldn't ask for a better kit to build! It's coming along very nicely, you guys are doing a great job!
I think numbers will go up once we get past general fiberglassing of green foam pieces and fairing to a smooth surface. Once the space has taken shape and all the fun gadgets go on, I think that's where a lot of the interest lies. 🙂
@@MJSailing You may be right. But only for certain types of people. I watched your first build episode where you took the parts off of the shipping container. By the fourth episode I was hooked and subscribed. I love the major parts building into the finished shape. As a person who likes building, (I am a Toolmaker and CNC Programmer along with a woodworker as a hobby) this is what I find fascinating. The small gadgets will have much less interest for me. Not saying you are wrong, but many enjoy it exactly where you are, and have been lately the most. Keep on with that smiling face girl! Wish I could help.
@@MJSailing generally plumbing and wiring will probably be the least interesting for me. Have seen too much of these. I like it when progress is palpable 🙂
Once again you two continue to amaze me with your work ethics, dedication and general attitude! You're making fantastic progress considering the enormity of your project. Hope you have a mild winter so you can continue with your build. Happy New Year!!
Its looking like a boat, just watching you guys work and explaining things clearly it feels as if I was there. My son lives in Annapolis and Lord willing I might come up in April. It is exciting to see your baby coming along so well! Blessings for this New year!

Happy New Year! So, it looks like Mother Nature decided it was time for a little winter. If the snow is sticking to your tent, it might be worth your time to clear some of it. This snow it very heavy compared to what we usually get. Stay safe.
Luckily when the sun comes out it melts it right off the tent. Although I would be totally fine if it decided not to snow here at all in February or March, lol.
Not yet! Got really excited because I found a SD card in the pocket of a pair of jeans I hadn't worn in awhile....but the card didn't have any new footage on it. 😢
Make some wooden cawls, place them under the clamps jaws to widen the clamping pressure. Some 1x2 cut into 4” pieces. What a great job you are doing, huge progress.
Time and the space with good work ethic and the internet helps a lot!!! I'd give everything to have that 20 years ago!!! I spent way too much time at the library reading books!! Buy the right tools and have good nek for build things and good things will get done !!! Good job P.S I love your last build !!! Happy new year to all
Looking like a Cat guys! Great episode and really enjoying traveling along side you on the build. Also just ordered my subscription to Athletic Greens with your link! Fair Winds from Boston!

Love watching the progress. I too have had to temp regulate large spaces. 100000btu jet heater could help. Prep many things and use heater on assembly days. Just a thought.
Thankfully we were able to bond on all the cabin sides, but the issue soon became running out of methacrylate. We have enough to keep ourselves busy until spring that there is no rush to get the cabin top on.
