Well done Steve. You keep my heart rate down with this episode. Taking things at a leisurely pace, sharing the beauty and sites. As a single tourer living in Switzerland I have to hold myself and slow down to take in the beauty. Looking forward to the Black Forest tour.. Might try and find you 🙂
Thanks John, a nice relaxed day’s riding makes a very pleasant change from time to time. How nice to be based in Switzerland - motorcycling paradise! Our Black Forest trip has been pushed back a month due to Ben’s race calendar, but I manage to squeeze in another tour first… it will air in a few weeks 😁
It always amazes me how it is the fashion for so many UA-cam bikers to recommend that you either blast through France on expensive characterless autoroutes or miss it out altogether and take and even more expensive and characterless ferry to Spain. Their loss.
Thank you my friend. Ben and my Black Forest trip has been pushed back a month due to Ben’s race calendar but I manage to squeeze in another tour first! It will be available to watch in a few weeks time 😁
San Quentin glad you showed us , seen it few times wanted to know haha .. it’s always too close to stop from Calais , and it’s normally pouring with rain when I’m in France . Got your luck Steve … looked lovely , great video once again
Lovely. My Tenere was built nearby😂. Just got home from a week in the Ardennes followed by 2 night in a very pretty village on the coast 30 mins from Dieppe. A real tonic before the mind numbing slap home from Newhaven to Lincoln. I hope to do some longer trips soon. Always a bit tricky as iam I'm my 3rd year of long covid which restricts my riding time somewhat and I have to say within my safe zone. I enjoy the back roads but they do slow up progress somewhat when you need to make the miles up. Great stuff 👍.
Sounds like you had a brilliant trip, I visited the Ardennes many years ago on a Harley Davidson Roadking and remember it to be very beautiful indeed. That final push home once back in Blighty always seems to be a slog. Hopefully a full recovery will come soon for you and you can get some longer trips under your belt again. Safe riding my friend! 😁
Wow, I've stayed on the outskirts of St Quentin in the past, and hadn't realised the centre was so lovely. Thanks for putting me right!. A great series, really enjoying it.
Hiya Steve, what a very relaxed episode, I very much enjoyed it. Such a shame that it's coming to an end. Never mind I'm sure the next one won't be too far away. Love your alarm cock.
I agree the Nav 6 does not seem to recognise addresses. Very frustrating. Tents - Good luck with LoneRider you would be an excellent person for them to sponsor. I have Khyam tent, very good - check them out. France looks lovey, there is something to be said arriving early and chilling. I didn’t do enough of the this year, sadly.
Hi Ken, yes, it makes a really pleasant change to have a more relaxed day’s riding. It would be great if Lone Rider came onboard… I’m not holding my breath though! 😂
There are very few places in France that need a Crit Air vignette. Having said that as they cost so little only a fool wouldn’t get one if there is any chance they might need it.
Another great episode Steve 👍 turned out well being shafted so late in the day by the Airbnb host. You could always save the pennies and get the new Chigee AI05 play for BMW . It just mimics your phone satnav on the screen, fits right on the cradle no adaptors and works with the wizzy wheel . Keep up the good work Mark 🤘
Hi Mark, thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I’ve not heard of the Chigee AI05 before; it sounds like a very good solution and I will take a look. Thanks for the tip! 😁
@@TwoWheeledDreamer GSD321 on here has done a good review . It’s on a 1250 GS has loads of built in features , although I’m not sure if all of them would work on the non tft 1200 like yours . Maybe get a freebie doing a review on an older bike 😉
I’ve had a couple of companies approach me with a view to reviewing some similar products but nothing that integrates with the BMW… I will check it out! Thanks! 😁
absolutely love those tranquil european little towns my gosh amazing Steve thanks for sharing !!
Thanks Arch, yes, they are beautiful 😁
What a wonderful day and city to end it in. Two days of sun in France, you're doing something right
I was so impressed with Saint Quentin and felt totally spoiled by riding through France in sunshine!

Hi Brian, it was a very rude and persistent morning call!! 😂 Nearly home but after a few episodes I’ll be off again! 😁
Did St Quentin last year, lovely place.
It’s beautiful, I’m so glad I can now put a face to the road sign! 😁

Decathlon for tents!!! really cheap...and french. Although, a lot of guys i ride with swear by Wingman.
I use an accounts app on my phone. And document all my expenditures on my holiday.

Thank you!
@@TwoWheeledDreamerI only know because I have a French cousin called Quentin. He actually lives quite close to Saint Quentin
Did you have a crit air sticker I couldn’t see one?
