I made a comment on your first vid of the caddie. The correct battery is about 4 inches wide or so and between 16 and 18 inches long. When i got the battery for my 55 i couldnt beleave thats what it takes. I got mine from pasco batterys. Im not sure if they still stock them it was many years ago
Where in Pa are you? I’m in Pa also. I saw this car on Facebook marketplace. I was thinking of buying it but glad to see you got it. I have 3 1955’s…it’s my favorite year, tho have other years also. At Tractor Supply they have the correct skinny battery needed for the car and Interstate makes one also.
That battery ordeal looks like it definitely sucked! GM sometimes designed things that make you scratch your head and wonder "WTF". But, it's awesome that she fired! BTW - hope your finger feels better!
@@undergroundcreations417 if I may, from experience, clean out the gas tank, replace the corroded metal and brittle fuel lines. Then with fresh gas go around the block. Again, sweet Caddy!

They made a thinner style battery in '55. Still available, just not at your local auto parts. Antique Auto Battery carries it.

FWIW, I saw it too and I am in Pittsburgh. I had a 55 CDV years ago but now have a 56 CDV.

I think fuel pump gasket is leaking by, where the 2 halves of the fuel pump together.
Personally, I’d rather battle the inner fender well. IMHO.
When done mount the new battery in the trunk. 🤘😎
