Which stretching room audio do you prefer? 2001 or 2002?
I made this video for educational, research, and leisure purposes! I did not intend on infringing any copyright!
This is so much better!!! So cinematic and lush
It’s more cinematic for sure!
I would say 2001 is better for 2 reasons: reason 1, it actually gives a more ominous feel to The Nightmare Before Christmas which is important. This one just sounds like the music from Phantom Manor (I know it was composed by the same guy but it really just feels like a piece of music you would play if something tragic happened, so it doesn’t give any feeling towards how ominous and funny the movie is with the mansion being frightful yet funny. The other music excelled at that. Reason 2 is the fact that the other music matched with the original music in the foyer, and the corridor of changing portraits. This music does not have that feeling at all. This tragic violin piece does not mix with the ominous (but in a cartoon way) music in the foyer, and the funny sound of the flute and vocals in the corridor of changing portraits as well as the other music did.
It’s insane how the original piece from 2001 suits the ride so well, yet it’s not from the Nightmare Before Christmas at all! Honestly, I wouldn’t have figured that it was an original piece if it weren’t for me paying close attention - the “Nightmare Before Christmas” vibe is there!
As for the 2002 piece, I like it, but it did take time getting used to. After having it grow on me, I realized that it gave the stretching room more of a cinematic track and made it feel more dramatic. Imagine how differently the atmosphere would be if the 2002 piece played with additional lighting and other effects. Would we feel different about it then? Who knows, but I learned to enjoy them both.
1:37 sounds different than i expected
I never would’ve guessed that’s how it sounds!
@@InsideDisneyOfficial no one would have guessed! it sounds like grim grinning ghosts in that part (about 1:37)
@@FS-fr4lwIt’s actually the medley of “Making Christmas”! That’s what you hear through this piece actually, it’s neat!
OMG that was pretty terrifying 😂 So cool to hear it though! I don’t remember it.
This played in the park a long time ago, and for a very short time too!
2001 Ballroom music is better than the current version in my opinion.
Agreed
Honestly, the 2002 sounds infinitely more spooky. But, 2001 has a better flow. I’m glad they kept it.
Yeah, the 2002 score’s climax comes out of nowhere. It does sound chilling though, it’s epic!
I've said this in another video, and I'll say it here: Imagine this being used for the Stretching Room in a Phantom Manor Holiday overlay.
I think that would be well suited. Both Phantom Manor, and this were composed by John Debney, so why not?
@@DanielVick1994 well, for the 2002 soundtrack it was composed by J. Debney on D. Elfman's themes. But for the original 2001 soundtrack the music was composed by Gordon Goodwin.
@@HatboxGhost999 I meant the fact that the John Debney stretching room score for Phantom Manor sounds a lot like the John Debney score for this stretching room in the 2002 Haunted Mansion Holiday. It has the same dramatic feeling, they contain similar instruments, they contain similar chords, and they were both from the same composer. This sounds like it would be well suited in Phantom Manor, because the amount of feeling, and similar chords that went into this score, and Phantom Manor’s is incredible.
Making Christmas motif doesn’t really work for the stretching room. I can understand why the 2001 music remains.
It’s interesting because the 2001 music doesn’t have any motif from Nightmare Before Christmas at all, yet it fits so well!
This is INSANE. Can you send me this so I can upload it myself please??
I was shook when I first hear it. You finally get to hear it in its in-park glory!
Yeah I can send it to you! Do you have Instagram or Twitter?
@@InsideDisneyOfficial Yep! Sent you message on Insta
