She makes sense though. There’s going to be a lot of people who use a large vocal range. This guy will have only one type of music and his range is limited. Idol is not for him. He deserves to be in a country competition where he can expand on different sounds because idol will pigeonhole him into one sound and style and he won’t be able to get out of it for years. He deserves better than that. She knows how Idol will ruin him.

A tenor that sings this low is indeed very rare, thats why we call them BASS
Tenores = high pitched male voices
Baritones/Baritonos = middle pitched voice (can transition from low to high regions of male voices)
Basses/Bassos = low pitched male voices (like him)

Voices like Luke Taylor’s are loved by many people. Why turn him away because his voice is low? There are famous deep voiced singers in case you are unaware of that little fact.
He has a limited range, so limited use. It's simple.
I actually think he would do great on America's Got Talent because of EVERYTHING he can do.

There was a man who worked in a T shirt shop in the city I am in and that man had a voice so deep and quiet I had to strain to hear him talk . I still think he had the deepest voice I have ever heard.

Popular music has been dominated by Tenors for so long that a solid baritone/bass is almost an endangered species. It's refreshing to hear one.
Send all of them to Hollywood. Discover them. Feature them. All the girls started trying to sing like Whitney to the point where the guys started trying to sing like the girls. Let's get some deep voiced men back up on that stage. Go back and listen to music from the 1940s and 50s.. in Burl Ives days. There were a lot of singers like him back then. Where did they go?!
