    i wish there'd been anything at all about the quality of the light, color consistency across power levels, flash speeds without hss - anything at all to do with actually using a flash rather than just a tour of its features in comparison with the godox and that single shot at the very end.

    When I started with OFC it was with Yongnuo speedlites, they were cheap and a great starter, but the quality is terrible and I switched to Godox because they had so many more options and the build quality is much better

      Yongnuo is definitely a good cost effective solution to start with however Godox truly does have a much easier to navigate UI and some nice quality of life features too!

    The locking knob on the Godox is to tighten an accessory placed into the bare bulb head, not to change the head itself. It’s good to see Chinese companies now copying other Chinese companies, rather than Japanese and European products. A refreshing development.

    EXCELLENT presentation- and VERY helpful for my own needs. I've been a Yongnuo trigger user for the past 7 years; I never cared for/wanted/liked the typical Pocket Wizard stuff- or the cost. So on a whim, I checked out their line....and have been very happy. I honestly can get almost 300ft. of range. I can trigger around corners. I can trigger from different floors. Works from a helicopter. ETC. So excited to try one of the 200's + master units w/ enhanced features. I know I can trust the brand.

    1-Can I fully control/trigger yn200 using my yn-e3-rt??

      1 - Unfortunately it won't work with the RT range of wireless trigger. The compatible trigger for the YN200 to access its full features (HSS/TTL) is the YN560Tx-Pro. Currently only Canon/Nikon variants available.
      2 - At this stage only the 200W model but who knows? They tend to follow market trends rather than lead them :)

    I have 4 Yongnuo triggers, and they work great. However, I bought one of the Godox strobes (the 860 Vii, I believe) a while back, so I decided to invest in the Flashpoint (Godox) 200 pro. It should arrive in the next few days. Looking forward to putting it through it’s paces! Thanks for a great review!

      @MrPhotog7 2 роки тому

      @@mananrocks98 the Transmitter/Flash Trigger is not super intuitive, but it works great. I haven’t had any issues with the Flashpoint/Godox brand. Both the 860 Vii and the 200Pro work great. The Godox brand has a whole ecosystem of strobes and studio lights and triggers: everything from the small 75 watt hot shoe flashes up to 1200 watt studio strobes. To me, that is a big advantage over some of the other brands out there such as Yongnuo, Westcott, etc.

    Very informative video on the YN200. The best on UA-cam so far. I just started out in photography and have been using the YN560 iv speedlights with modifiers which has been awesome so far.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  4 роки тому

      Hey there!
      Thanks for the great feedback, the YN200 is not compatible with the AK-R1 Accessory kit as it doesn't have access to the H200R Head which is needed to use the AK-R1.

  • @olesjor
    @olesjor 4 роки тому +3

    The Yongnuo YN200 is pretty good. But you need the new YN560-TX Pro. Or you can't use TTL or HSS. You can fire the flash with many old Yongnuo triggers. I own the YN200 and use it a lot. If you already own the Godox AD200 it is a better product. no reason to buy this. Do you own a YN560 or more then it makes sense to buy.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  4 роки тому +1

    Nice review. Hoping that someone here can help... I have 3 YN560 IV flashes, a couple of the YN605 triggers and the YN560 tx for manual lights. These have worked great for several years with no problems at all. However, for outdoor shoots where the subject moves and the light changes I purchased 2 YN968n flashes and the YN622 tx to control them with Nikon iTTL. I now have 2 types of flashes and 3 types of triggers.
    I have found Yongnuo documentation and system compatibility to be frustrating, and their customer service to be non-existent... Before I spend any more money on Yongnuo I need to know : Will the YN560 TX Pro control both the YN968n with firmware 1.06 and the YN200 in Nikon iTTL HSS?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  4 роки тому +1

      You can use the S-Type Bracket or the new Godox S2 bracket to mount to a light stand. Otherwise there's 1/4" mounting points on the side and bottom of the YN200 to mount direct to most other brackets or light stands.

      Unfortunately the YN600EX-RT works on the RT wireless system so it won't work, which is partly the reason Yongnuo hasn't been so prominent in the market and brands like Godox are gaining popularity, as all their flashes work within the same system.

  • @aaronalbores3999
    @aaronalbores3999 4 роки тому +1

    I've had a pretty bad experience with my Yongnuo speedlites. I had 4 of them and all of them stopped working after some time, mainly because of the "stuck at full power" issue. That doesn't mean that this new YN200 has this same problem (hopefully), but i wouldn't recommend to buy Yongnuo gear. In the best case Yongnuo gear is unreliable, in the worst case, it's just designed to stop working after some time. Some months ago i had to get a new system so i chose Godox. I have a TT685, an AD200 and the X2T controller, they work well and so far i'm pretty happy. Yes, the YN200 is considerably cheaper than the YN200, but still i wouldn't recommend to take the risk to invest in Yongnuo equipment

    • @hypop
      @hypop  4 роки тому +3

      It terms of reliability and longevity we totally agree that Godox is the safer option. The Yongnuo range, despite being affordable have encountered issues in the past but are a great cost effective alternative to those starting out.

    • @aaronalbores3999
      @aaronalbores3999 4 роки тому +1

      @@hypop Of course, as in any other product, you always have many options to choose from. You can go for price or you can go for more expensive, durable and well built products. But then we have that "stuck at full power" issue (again, i'm not claiming that the YN200 has this issue). This is an issue well known by users and by Yongnuo themselves, present not in just one, but in several models of speedlites the brand has been selling for several years and never cared to fix. This issue is not a consequence of cheaply manufactured products, instead it is the best example i know of planned obsolescence. There is a big difference between something built cheap and something built to fail, that's why i can't trust Yongnuo products anymore and consider my responsibility to warn people

      With the a firmware update (I believe v1.08) you're able to enabled YN560-Rx mode on YN622 transceivers to trigger the YN200. A good option if you already own these triggers.

      The YN622N trigger isn't directly compatible with the internal receiver of the YN200. You'll need to plug the trigger in via the sync jack and use both transreceivers for it to work.

    If this means this new flash is incompatible with the Yn622 system of flashes and triggers I will be seriously pissed with Yongnuo. I own 3 Yn 968n flash units plus 2 yn622n triggers and the YN 622N-TX. I use the triggers for 600ws manual studio strobes which do not support HSS work fine all the way up to 1/8000 sec using those triggers.
    Why would they bring out yet another flash that is not compatible with that system? Half the management at Yongnuo must arrive for work driving their cars backward and the other half wear their pants backward. They are the most inconsistent company on the planet. Love the items I have from them but if these aren't compatible I will never buy more YN products due to the ongoing lack of appreciation for their customers that incompatibility represents.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately this is the case. The YN622 series triggers can be plugged in via the sync port using a cable however will only act as a manual trigger and you won't have TTL / HSS support. A shame and missed opportunity and no idea why they didn't think of making the YN200 backwards compatible.

      4 YN 603n Trigger/Receivers purchased years ago that were outdated almost immediately due to the 603N ii triggers
      3 YN968 Flash units
      2 YN622n Receiver/Triggers
      1 YN622n-TX Trigger

      Now you have the YN200 which I WAS interested in.
      THE PROBLEM IS I JUST LEARNED IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH any of the YN equipment I now have..
      What is the matter with your management? They keep coming out with systems that are not compatible with systems you sold to millions of photographers.
