Makes us all wish we either kept the cars we had or had one to play with. My uncle built a Camaro for my cousin in 78’, 327, head work, 650 DP, good internals, 5 spd when the Doug Nash was popular. North of 400 hp easy, 3.55 gear. It was vicious, my uncle Kenny could build a motor from nothing, some one else’s junk.He had two 73’ Ford wreckers both packing built 428’s, damn I miss those days,RIP uncle Kenny
Deborah those kinda guys are dying off more and more every day. Just those type of guys were talented more then they realized. Now everything is fricken LS or mail order crate motors!!! I m old school. Still running small blocks in all my hotrods!!
Adrian Tomlin so true, I watched him put a 283 together I swear that thing felt like a 350, roller rockers, the works, banging gears at 8,000 never hurt it.
I had a bone stock one owner ‘ 63 Chevy II SS 250 6 cylinder & power glide my dad bought me for my 1st car in 1973. Why did I ever sell it? He paid $300 & I got $500 to a guy they wanted to hot rod it. I bought a ‘67 International Scout for $800, sold for $1500 & bought my ‘72 El Camino SS with 350 & Turbo 350 for $2500 in 1975 but that’s another regret selling…
Super clean car obviously done right. My only personal preference would be custom width Vette Rally wheels - 14 inch narrowed in the front with 15 in widened in the rear. Had a couple Chevys and put Rallys on all of them I guess I just got hooked on the look :-)
Must be nice to give your "project" to someone and tell them call me when you're done. Couldn't really even tell much about the motor other than it " sounds tuff". Nice car though.
I wonder if they ever heard of getting to the point!!! We'd like to know about the car not his life history sorry to say that but I didn't click on that to hear about his family just a car!!
That engine is wicked and well tuned, dam!
Love the car done just right. Dash came out great
This old guy gets it, stock looking body, classic interior, tuff driveline and BIG motor! 🤘
83JTD only way to go, clean body no BS, HD drive line, unassuming ass kicker.
I'm just starting my retirement build with a 641 hp. pump gas N/A SBC stroker........no stereo.😁
Looks really good with them rims nice nice
It definitely sounds tough. Beautiful car!
I was lucky enough to drive it! Its a handful!!

It not a Nova, it’s a Chevy 2. The name was changed to Nova in 69.
He does mention @4:49 he wanted it to look like a stock chevy II. I'm confused too.

My dream car is a 66nova.
But that's not really a "Retirement project" of you let someone else turn the wrenches for you.
