#1 Proven Trumpet Course To Quickly Improve High Notes, Power, and Endurance! trumpetsizzle.com
Did you know that I created what has now become the NUMBER 1 Embouchure Improvement Course Of All Time? It's true! Why not fact check it? Kurt Thompson's 16 Week Upper Register Course began in 2009 and has now (2021) been taught to well over 1000 students. Almost half of those students took the course live each week with Kurt and the other half did it on their own with the video tutorials!
FACT CHECK: When trying to determine what is the BEST anything today, look for reviews, but BE CAREFUL: Written reviews can be faked, right? Still, many times we only have written reviews to go on at places like Amazon. REAL VIDEO REVIEWS BY REAL PEOPLE that got the product or became the student is the TRUE WAY to 100% fact check something.
Currently there are tons of video reviews by students from 15 years of age up to 88 years of age that have had tremendous success with Kurt Thompson's Course! CHECK HERE: ua-cam.com/play/PL0PQUYopKD-L2Vj0awGJK9NNY96hVFaTY.html
The other method would be cash sales. NOBODY comes close to matching the record setting sales of the 16 Week Upper Register Course! NADA!
If you find someone who tries to make that claim, check out their student video reviews with the student doing some playing...THEY DON'T EXIST!
CAREFUL: Be leery of trumpet teachers, courses, programs that have a lot of celebrity trumpet players giving an endorsement! Almost ALWAYS that endorsement is paid or because they are friends with the teacher. Think about it: If Wayne Bergeron gave a thumbs up on some teacher's course, did he actually go through the entire course and test it out? YOU KNOW HE DID NOT! His friend showed him the course. He browsed through it. Said: Hmmm ok, looks good! BE LEERY when you see that. Nothing wrong with friends helping each other out, but for YOU the student, you can easily be misled by putting too much weight on these famous trumpet friends.
I am happy to have you try to find a course that competes with the 16 Week Upper Register Course. Don't bother trying to find one that supersedes it. That won't happen. However, if you can find one that has some decent competition, leave a comment. Decent competition does not mean written reviews, celebrity reviews, or even people just talking about it. It means legit music students PLAYING and DEMONSTRATING the success they had while taking the course! You find that? Let us know!
INTERESTED? You should be! Did you know you can take a small sample of the course just to get an idea if it is for you? It is only a sample. Don't expect anything from the sample, but to give you an idea of how the course is. CHECK OUT THE SAMPLE: trumpetsizzle.com/products/sample-week-11-new-revised-upper-register-course-for-all-brass-musicians-2019
Speak italiana, español, portugués? The 16 Week Upper Register Course has been fully translated to Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Know anyone who would learn better with their native language in the subtitles? trumpetsizzle.com/collections/trumpet-lessons-translated-to-italiana-espanol-portugues
Fact check, Be Skeptical, but in the end, you will come back to the 16 WEEK UPPER REGISTER COURSE for trumpet and all brass musicians as the NUMBER 1 embouchure improvement course on the planet!

Okay Kurt, my 30 day assessment….WOW it works I can attest to that! My range increased, and my endurance is improving.
I do incorporate my warm-up which includes some lip buzzing from Max Schlossberg book no mthpc. And few things from Jimmy Maxwell’s First Trumpeter book. Especially the chromatic tonguing triplet routine and the single- and double-tonguing routine which helps bring everything into focus.
I also would like to mention the success of utilizing the didgeridoo throughout my daily routine. Something is definitely going on with that in good and positive way.
I’m searching for an order to what I do first, second etc. without over doing it. Especially when I have a gig that night or the next day. It’s baffling to me.
    Thanks Kurt

Haven't played for 30 years after studying trumpet at Volkwankschule Essen. Just started playing some Rick Brown stuff on my Yamaha Fluegelhorn and need to obviously work on endurance and getting hight. Hi Kurt, i will start with your silent C excercise tomorrow and check out the toung arch at the same time. I am gonne spend the best part of 45 min a day practicing of which 20 - 25 min will be spent on your exercises.

UPDATE MARCH 2017!!! I now have a consistent Triple g and almost ever day can hit a Triple C at mp to mf...JUST from doing this exercise! Previously? My TRIPLE C was just a tiny little squeak! My Triple G was also a squeak. Now I could actually sprinkle in some Triple G's and Triple C's in some upcoming studio recordings and they will be REAL NOTES...not just squeaks. Summary: THIS TECHNIQUE WORKS! ...DO IT!!! www.trumpetsizzle.com

I did it for a month and the results were probably close to what you suggest. However, I also ramped up my practice to include other things, like Colin and Clarke during this time, so it's hard to know for sure what results would have been accomplished adding the whisper g alone. My first trumpet teacher exposed me to super quiet playing years ago, but he suggested playing Clarke 2 studies doing that. The idea was to play them very slowly and as softly as you could get the notes to speak. Either way, it's a valuable tool to increase endurance and give security and better tone quality. Thanks.

After a long practice session (where I normally do my long tones...), I took the "5-minute challenge." After 2 1/2 minutes my face said, "No more!" For those asking about the pencil exercise: the pencil exercise is a great substitute if you're on an airplane or somewhere where you just can't get to your horn. Otherwise, unless you're paid to play a pencil, get the work done on your horn. It's more exacting and more focused than the pencil exercise. Okay Kurt, you're on. For the next 30 days I'm going to work this into each day's practice. Thanks! I'll post the results next month!

    • @TRUMPETSIZZLE
      @TRUMPETSIZZLE  7 років тому

Kool, well keep at it, but little by little. For everyone: A technique by itself, cat anderson, pencil, or others won't get you to the promise land...THE PROCESS will! Just don't be misinformed even by some of my own videos! I do try to remind people that the HOLY GRAIL is available for all who want it, but it doesn't come with one trick or technique!

I suggest you take Kurt's course as too much of anything will get you absolutely nowhere fast. For example if i don't have time to practise 50 techniques or so each day of the week, i find it better to do as many shorter techniques as i can fit in than it is to blow through one Arban grand study. i work within my physiological limits, that is if my body says rest i rest since i am asthmatic and the rest is crucial to a full recovery. I no longer get dizzy or headaches after practising Kurt's course. It is a progression. Lot's of short techniques build power, range and endurance etc.

I've been playing off and on since 1960. Due to putting my teeth through my lower lip I've have very little blood flow and muscle control to my lower lip. I accommodated with a modified tongue compression (unknown to me it just happened when I started playing again). I've had very short endurance since then, maybe 2 straight minutes of playing tops. Do you think this will help me given the situation?

This exercise becomes isometrical in nature. And as with all isometric exercises you have to be extremely careful not to overdo them. Consequences of overdoing isometrics would include: brittleness in your playing, stiffness in your chops swelling of your lips, no cushion when you go above the staff, air in your tone, poor endurance, and lack of flexibility....beware as LESS IS MORE when it comes to ISOMETRICS!

Rest is just as important for muscular training as the actual exercise. Stimulus/recovery/adaptation. Gotta have all 3 for it to work.

Well Cat Anderson said it matters, but I say it won't hurt to take it off for a sec and may help avoiding STIFFITIS

anxious to get the chops back I had 40 years ago n wonder If will do damage to self if increase time or do more than once a day. I can hold tone longer than you till I Almost black out, which Prolly isn't what I want to do loll so sometimes I have to restt a little and breathe between long tones, but not yet as soft as you, so I may be doing it wrong. I dug out my old Arbans I beat up as a kid but it still scares the crap out of me some since the stroke, so saving till my fingers and chops work again some more as I don't want to discourage myself too much on this journey before i really get into it ;) lol

Hang on Kurt ... the original adage is that "a lawyer who acts for himself has a fool for a client". I should know ...I was a lawyer (in Australia) for about 40 years - quite some years ago now. A dreadful trade!!! Now, if I take your comeback course and then your upper register course, to keep the upper register going, how much practise specifically on range do you have to do to keep it?? I would want to have F above the stave a keeper. Great videos you have.

Hi Kurt my name is Alex Gonzalez I live in lumberton North Carolina and I would like to chat with you through text maybe on Facebook? my name is Alex Gonzalez on there and I have my hair up in my profile pic. If not then I will add you, I plan on working my career with playing the trumpet and have some concerns about my style of playing some of which involves rolling in the lip.

    • @rnordquest

I actually know the answer to this one. To play high, you need a small aperture. Here you're playing the smallest aperture you can; it barely makes a sound. This allows your body to develop the little muscles that can hold that aperture in position. Eventually you'll develop the strength with those muscles to put a lot of air through that tiny aperture. Now what I really need to do is short cut this whole process. There are 1000 techniques out there that work for 1000 people. The short cut is to find someone that knows which of those will work for me. If Kurt knows how to teach all the major embouchure methods then he could quickly tell which is likely to work for me. After that it's all hard work. But you can work just as hard going in the wrong direction and never get anywhere. I'm too old to waste time doing the wrong thing.
