I bought this car back in May and it went back to the workshop 6 times. First it was the door handles having problems opening properly. To be fair they thought it was software but in the end it was the car wrap. Secondly, the ball bearing for the car handles had tear and wear because it was having a hard time opening earlier on. Then there was the problem with 12V battery and they had to replace the battery for me. Then there was a cooling problem with the battery and apparently you can't use the 3 pin plug in cable to charge it more than 2.5 hours otherwise it would overheat. They asked me to buy their wallbox as a solution so that I can charge it up to 80% in 2 to 3 hours. The real range for the EV battery is around 76 to 80 km on a full charge, not 100 km. Then the wipers was producing a loud friction noise with the windscreen. They changed the wipers but the problem persist. Then the Aircon blowing halfway suddenly had some noise coming out from it. I barely drove the car for more than 100 km. It is sitting at the workshop most of the time. Brand new car but went back to Mercedes workshop 6 times since I bought it in May. They are collecting my car this Wednesday again to fix the problems. A complete nightmare.
Mercedes absolutely lost the plot… the steering wheel on their new cars is atrocious, I’m not sure what they were thinking. Feels ultra cheap, worse than my 1 series m sport steering wheel
Nice review, well specced for the price....gather it is a ckd plug in hybrid .....hence it is rm700k.....though the build quality could be questionable....not sure if you noticed the gap between the centre steering boss and the centre horn button....the gap is big....Mercedes malaysia have their work cut out on improving build quality of its ckd cars

Mind you that the viewing unit is the i7, the actual 7 series will look even uglier because the bumper design is a lot busier and more crowded. However the interior is nice, not as futuristic like the W223 but still very nice in terms of quality and design.
Actually, comparing between this and 7 Series, 7 Series looks better than S Class, especially when comes interior. But do agree with you that BMW reliability and also better than Mercedes Benz
Good presentation but I disagree with the ev range part. Going up to 100 km ev range doesn’t mean will get 100 km. As known, switching on air conditioning, stuck in traffic , driving conditions, weather etc will affect ev range. Top Gear UK tested the ev range and got a real world range of 72 km which is still pretty good. If work is 50 km away as stated in this video will definitely struggle to get the 100 km in ev only.
People always complain with very minor issues as if they can buy this car... Just to impress others like they are very critical..and as if saying they are better than the engineers.....
MBM should bring in the S500L with 3.0L Twin Turbo Inline6 with 429bhp @ 520nm torQue… with rear wheel steering in AMG line package!… yes, the S-class is the best luxury car in the world! those who Question why people pay alot for a S-class Just to show off… well, they dont use ur money… : D

Agreed. The build quality of Mercedes Benz Is atrocious. Not sure why Asians like to pay for a 3 pointed star just to show off.
