Not only did I see a truly wonderful restoration, but I learned some about Bacchus guitars and basses in a quick search. I was initially hoping for a reddish stain to keep the color but show the lovely wood, but I think you made the right choice. Absolutely lovely!
This bass guitar got the love it deserved. I thought you would go for a clear wood finish, but this result is even better! The best result I have seen do far on your channel. And I have seen some pretty amazing work so far!
Off topic but somewhat related: my neighbor got some guys from a 7-11 parking lot to stain his new walnut front doors. The guys got to work immediately and brushed on the stain. However they did not wipe off the stain to expose the beautiful grain. All my neighbor had were two front doors that resembled mud.
Dear Friend, thank you so much for this excellent video. Restoring a guitar gives a nice feeling and you do it with such maestria ! Filling the wood with a grain filler combined with a varnish was the perfect match for this beautiful Bacchus JB. The transparent pickguard is adding an appealing look to the body. Thanks again for this delightful passion you share with so much intensity !
I love your videos. Just one request from a Western perspective: It would be great if you would indicate the used substances (oil, lacquer, polish etc) in English. Keep up the good work.
This is so awesome! Great work! I wish I could read all the labels of the products you use- you have such a diverse arsenal for tackling and reversing the abuse all these instruments have undergone! Keep up the great work.
I'll admit I had some serious reservations about what the hell you were going to do with that wood finish but it turned out amazing. The entire project turned out awesome. As always, nice work!
Amazing job. Can you tell me what is exactly the oil you used in the body? It says Xotic Oil Gel and it seems to be available only in Asia. What could it be the translation? Thanks
Yet another masterpiece! The body looks like ash, a high quality instrument, I like that you didn't paint it, but went with just wood grain! Better than bran new!
It looked and sounded amazing once you got finished with it, as usual! That wood grain is gorgeous. Good playing at the end, too!
HAH! I paid $15.00 for my first bass, over 40 years ago. I did the exact same thing for it's missing pick guard! Although, I only had 1/4 inch plexiglass available...that thing was solid!!! LOL
The natural wood and clear pick guard make this bass shine.
Nice work!

I own one and love it, such good quality
My favorite episode so far for sure. Love the clear pick guard with the wood finish. Excellent work.

You make it look so
simple, great job.
I wouldn't really call it restoration, more of a resto-mod, but it's beautiful work. Glad you saved this beautiful bass!

I was surprised that the bridge, neck and turners were so clean, seeing the state of the paint on the body.
Changing the finish on the bass from paint to wood grain is a great upgrade, excellent!

Glad you went with the natural finish on this - what a surprise to find such striking grain under the original paint
Amazing work. Can't believe it's the same body
Great job! I seen what you had to work with, but black hardware and screws in my opinion would really look good.
Se escucha increíble. saludos from Chilito lindo!
I had doubts about the finish but it turned out great. Nice work.
Fantastic. The stain and polish look perfect with all the hardware
Why was all the hardware brand new at the beginning? Looks like you took a new bass and made it look better.
Good job! Ash tree body + maple fingerboard = powersound!!!

Look in the description.

Could genuinely listen to this person play for an hour
Very cool but, I would have repainted it candy apple red again.

Fine Jazz-Bass Restoration! Gratulations. Good work. Bacchus ... never heard.
This is so awesome! Great work! I wish I could read all the labels of the products you use- you have such a diverse arsenal for tackling and reversing the abuse all these instruments have undergone! Keep up the great work.

Very nice restoration! Nice tone on those new pickups!
I absolutely love these videos
how come the tuners and bridge were so clean and shiny compared to the state of the body?
Amazing job. This is how the bass should have looked from the factory.
Another great transformation and it sounds great, too!👍🎸
Clear speed knobs would look really good on this
perfect booster, perfect playing
What a great finish,well done.Probably better than new now,and a great sound.
The best work I saw from you so far!
Great video as always regards from Spain 🤙🏻
Beautiful work Sir
I'll admit I had some serious reservations about what the hell you were going to do with that wood finish but it turned out amazing. The entire project turned out awesome. As always, nice work!
Same.. I was like Wtffffff oohhhh WOW. NICE.
Very very very tasty restoration!
The result is fantastic and your skills just keep getting stronger and better! 👍🙌
Amazing job. Can you tell me what is exactly the oil you used in the body? It says Xotic Oil Gel and it seems to be available only in Asia. What could it be the translation? Thanks
That's a superb job!! Better than when new!
Good job restoring, but you should have shielded it... "Just Saying"
I love this bass!! Something must be wrong with me, I thoroughly enjoyed watching its transformation
Que contra baixo, ficou muito lindo.
Sad. I like how the headstock is the only clean thing on it.
lindo bass
That poor thing turned into a very classy beauty 👍🏼💪🏼
great video. Respect for the open fly performance. I suspect for better sustain😂
Nice old rock out you did at the end there mate 👍
Wonderfull
Yet another masterpiece! The body looks like ash, a high quality instrument, I like that you didn't paint it, but went with just wood grain! Better than bran new!
Ow, a Bacchus bass.
The hardwares (bridge and tuning pegs) still look extremely new. I wonder...
Love these videos. it's like bob ross but for guitar restoration. mic compression is just 🤌
Another beautiful restoration! 😊 👍🏻
I imagine these quality strings sound worlds better than the cheap strings you were using all the time before.
17:58 Roasted maple neck means that guitar is made in recent year.

Wow, just wow! Such beauty!
You have done a wonderful job, only thing is that the guitar body color is very simple.
Awesome job dude!!!
3:20 that one annoying mosquito late at night.
amazing easily one of your best I love it.
wood could be ash, nice. Bacchus was an interesting 70s japanese manufacturer . nice find.
Was? Check the serial no. That guitar was only built 3 years ago.
ok, when this is true, that the company is still in modern business, interesting and very rare todays @@ParanoiDave
Man that's awesome, greeting from the Netherlands.
Very nice.
I just wanted to know whose pickups provided "20 years of epic tone?
Sounds great

Nice. You've made the absolute most of the beautiful grain in the body. How does it feel to play?
Absolutely beautiful! Well done!
where are you getting these guitars from ????
Great job, it looks and sounds amazing!!!
When you get a guitar that's painted with a finish, how do you decide whether to use sanding, heat, or paint stripper?
As Always GREAT Job!!!
Awesome job!
We’ll done! It doesn’t even look like the same instrument!
Beautiful
All that effort. Wow...
Can you play?
wow.. such cheap bass, but what a beauty!
I was thinking the masonite would make a great pickguard!
Hurts to watch someone using the wrong Philips screwdriver size
Brilliant job!
Ma dove li trovi questi strumenti?
