Got my 1290 sas exactly 3 years ago and have put 24000 miles on her in that time. Absolutely great bike, ideal tourer, three trips in that time to Bosnia, Romania and Montenegro. And brilliant on the back roads too. Getting a CB1000R in a few weeks time but the KTM is staying. It's a keeper. Hope you enjoy yours too.
Nice bike. I'd guess maybe the reason the rear shock spring is white (rather than orange or black) is that it's made by White Power which is owned by KTM?
Hi how would you compare it to the Honda crf1100 Africa twin adventure sport for comfort to the Kim 1290 as lve had the Honda for 11month and just can’t get comfortable on it so I want to try the 1290 out ? Thanks
Hi Terry, Its difficult to say as I am no doubt not exactly the same shape or size as you. I found the Africa Twin perfectly comfortable, though this is based on only a few hours in the saddle. Both bikes are built to be big comfortable mile munchers. If it helps, the KTM is NOT boring like the Honda, you can grow horns and have fun on it.
I have that same bike...Got in December, just now able to start riding it. I love it!
