When it comes to Foxes and Fossils the winner is whatever song I am listening to. I've learned to appreciate them all. You have only scratched the surface of their stuff. You mentioned the bass player, Scott King. Unfortunately he passed away in early 2022. There are quite a few songs worth listening to just for his work. Tim Purcell, on the piano, does all the arrangements and editing (both sound and video). I never thought it was possible to make a band in a parking lot sound so good. Speaking of which, I don't think you caught the engine revving at the most opportune spot during I can't let go. You should listen to it again and listen for it. If you are fans of Crosby, Stills and Nash then you should listen to Suite Judy Blue Eyes. It was their very first song and their very first show and is absolutely the best cover of that song on UA-cam. Graham Nash even sent Tim and email congratulating him on the song.

I was the one who introduced Foxes and Fossils to your channel in live stream many months ago. I have followed them for over 5 years and consider them to be one of the best cover bands in the country. Not only are their individual abilities stellar, but their harmonies are off the charts. I watched their pay-per-view reunion concert from December and everything they did was even better live! I want to add that not only are they great musicians but they are great people as well. Very in touch with their fans and just down to earth. They're worth your support!
As for the battle, I would go with love is the answer as a full production, adding Chase's voice. And the multitracking provided exquisite harmonies.
On the other hand, the fact that the first performance was live with on point harmonies and no editing, in some ways makes it more impressive. For me, it's a draw.
I'm not a big fan of cover bands usually but I loved the live performance, couldn't believe people were walking by without a second glance!

I've known and followed Maggie, Sammie, and Tim from various church choirs at SFUMC. Mustangs to Foxes and Fossils. I was at the Dec 30 2022 concert, and it was magical!
@@debrastrader9892 I wish they would redo Bring it on Home and I'm with the Band. They were deserving of way more attention than they've received. Be good ones if they do another live show.
@lynwessel2471 I agree with you on Bring it on Home is in the top 10 of my listening choices. Would love to hear it in the girls more mature voices.
I liked Both ! They are such a Talent with Beautiful harmonies . If i had to pick one it would be Love is the Answer but a very close battle here. Good one Seals and Thanks Guys 😊👍

I just would like to encourage everybody who may read this to go out and see some local cover bands in your area they are often just as good and they are cheaper. I wish Foxes and Fossils would go tour I’d pay to see them

I'm surprised how much I like this, took a listen on my morning walk and it eased me nicely into a dreary Monday! My winner is 'I can't let go', I know the Hollies version so that probably swayed me. The vocals reminded me a bit of Fleetwood Mac and the B52's. These would be a great band to play at a party if all their covers are this good, I'll check out some more.
You may or may not like all the songs themselves, but all are done to very high standards. Band leader Tim Purcell is a perfectionist. 32 of their videos have between 1 and 5 million views.
@@lynwessel2471 I've watched a few more and I am very impressed. Their version of 10cc's 'The things we do for love' was amazing. I can see why they're so popular.
