  • Venice Beach, Los Angeles - December 29, 2023: In a concerted effort to address the homelessness crisis at Venice Beach, the City of Los Angeles has initiated a focused operation, especially targeting the restrooms where homeless individuals have been residing. This initiative is part of a larger city-wide strategy aimed at improving public amenities and providing support to those using the restrooms as shelter.
During this operation, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works team, identifiable in their yellow safety vests, worked in collaboration with the Clean Harbors Environmental Inc. team, who wore orange vests. The Clean Harbors team undertook the critical first step of sorting through the debris, carefully separating hazardous materials like batteries and syringes. This was a crucial part of ensuring the safety and efficacy of the operation. Following this, the sanitation personnel from Los Angeles Public Works took over, handling the collection of non-hazardous waste, contributing significantly to the operation's success.
The initiative also involved the Department of Public Works, Los Angeles Park Rangers, Recreation and Parks, and Clean Harbors Environmental Services, highlighting the city's multifaceted approach to the issue. Specialized waste management teams were deployed, and workers were equipped with the necessary safety gear. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) also played a significant role, offering on-site outreach services.
Regular cleanups, conducted every Friday by the city, focus on the homeless encampments along the Venice Beach Boardwalk, with the Los Angeles Park Rangers ensuring safety and compliance.
This comprehensive effort at Venice Beach not only addresses the immediate issue of homelessness in public spaces but also reflects the city's commitment to understanding and tackling the complex problem. By focusing on both immediate needs and the underlying causes of homelessness, Los Angeles demonstrates its dedication to providing long-term support to its most vulnerable citizens. This recent effort at Venice Beach is a testament to the city's ongoing commitment to a holistic approach in combating homelessness, showcasing its resolve to make a significant impact in the community.

I’ve posted this ad nauseam. I worked in state hospitals for my entire career. Seen the closure of 2 facilities. The states don’t want to up keep the old buildings and the lawyers and the advocates have fought to have people with mental illness have their “rights”. Some have benefited, many have not. Added to that problem is that the current Biden administration has “other priorities “ for your tax dollars. Sooo there you are. What gets me is Gavin’s snotty attitude but CA wants him🤷‍♀️

They need to start enforcing the laws like the situation with Tom that guy's been in the bathrooms and kicked out so many times making a mess trashing the place he should be given fines and if you can't pay him lock him up.....
Him and other repeat offenders. It's pretty bad when you can't even use a public bathroom because you have these people sleeping in them.
You people want to make a better area for Venice then you need to wake because what's happening right now with the reputation nobody wants to go there eventually all the stores are going to close and that place is going to turn into a ghost town. The solution is to first audit every so-called "outreach" agency or group and dissolve those producing no results. Next, homeless people need self-esteem before they can move forward in any meaningful way. I have worked teaching homeless, recovering addicts, and veterans with ptsd. Self-esteem is #1. No amount of blankets, meals, etc., will ever help without it. Self-worth must be realized.

Not a lot of empathy in these posts. I find this heartbreaking. It's just pure human suffering, and it's not easy to process, because the use and sanitation of bathrooms seems quite a bit less important than people having shelter. Obviously it is more complicated than that, this can't continue, but coming at it with some smug attitude while you sit comfortable with your good fortune is gross. Also I think it's funny this channel is calling people "individuals" as if this is some kind and politically correct phrasing. Um, dingbats, people use other words for "homeless" (ie "unhoused" etc) not "people", you massaged the wrong word. Can they just be people?

Maybe if your govt wasn't influenced by foreign interest groups and spending billions to prop up Israel there would be some dollars for mental health & the homeless.

You are over simplifying this, those guys are offered shelter and rehab, but because of there addictions they refuse to cooperate with services to get them clean and working again, some get so bad that even when they get shelter, the drugs they do make them so out of control they even get kicked out of that and are back on the street again.

@@lulueusebia5789 Then the police should come with county workers to talk to them and help them. Its going to be raining in just a few hours. The poor homeless dog at the beginning of the video and its owner and the rest of the poor homeless people will get drenched and be cold. Cops have no heart😞
