Unstable Unicorns for Kids features eight Colorful Unicorn card themes, including Hero, Animal, Princess, Space, Sports, Goofy, Rainbow, and Fantasy. With cards like Sock Puppet Unicorn, Astronaut Unicorn, and Mermaid Princess Unicorn, the game has a unique unicorn (a uniquecorn, if you will) for everyone!
The gameplay consists of drawing unicorns, magical powers and NEIGH! cards into your hand with the goal of being the first player to have 7 unicorns in your stable. Unicorns placed in your stable enable their aligned magic colour cards to be played without having to discard a card like your would normally.
Magic powers range from digging into the deck, swapping hands and stealing opponents unicorns from their stable!
And last but not least, the NEIGH! cards enable you to stop any other players action, even another Neigh card!

We got this game as a gift and tried to play but the instructions weren't helpful. I've never played strategy card games before and the instructions assume that you've some familiarity with how these kinds of games work. (Even though the game is billed as an intro for kids to strategy card games... Sigh)
As someone who'd never played strategy games before I had no idea what it meant by 'play a unicorn card'! Now I see it means to put a unicorn in the stable. Also, from the instructions I had no clue that the baby unicorn card was like a starter to get you on your way to having 7 unicorns in total.

I came wondering if we were playing it wrong, we played according to rules and it took like...three minutes. It was super easy to get the 7 unicorns. 😒
Same. And we were playing it wrong because we were going for all unique colored unicorns in our stable and it still only took 5 minutes. Maybe it works better with more players as there were only the 2 of us.
How many neigh cards can be played at a time... I know you can neigh then "un-neigh," but can you keep going back and forth until neigh cards run out? Also, if you neigh a card being played, does the original magic card stay in the discard pile even though it didn't happen?
In the regular Unstable Unicorns it makes you discard the card that got neighed. I'm assuming it's the same here.

Oh, i think another difference is the downgrade cards, ¿are there those in the "for kids"?
Maybe this version is a little less sinister? My older kids who have played the original with friends said the original is cooler. haha But they said it is basically the same. I was hoping this would be a touch more simple. I guess if you play it enough, the non-readers will learn the card symbols. After only one round, my non-readers already knew some of them.
After watching some "how to play" of the regular version... it seems way more complicated. The kids' version is definitely more simple.

Luke can not unless we play it open handed. It requires too much reading, but with help reading he can.
Both of them really like the theme, they think the unicorns look cool. They have. Lot of great art.
I guess this game has no downgrade or upgrade cards
The basic game is a bit more complicated

What's the point of the baby unicorns at all?
i tryed to listen to the vid but in dont even understand what ur sayying can someone explane how to play the game in replys?
unstable unicorns and Lamas unleased are amazing games to play with kids and young 5 year old niece. The expansions of the game could play them with CHAOS box not with kids game ..?!
if a player has the 7 unicorns in play and the baby unicorn need to wait all players have their turn and then he/she wins the game...?
if the other player do not have unicorns in play but only the baby could we discard kill the baby if we play magic card ...?!
