Wow! Gold and garnet! That's awesome! And that was an amazingly good idea, putting the calcite in vinegar to melt it away. Those quartz plates look so cool! And those gorgeous mossy tube agates turned out wonderful! I'm sure whoever gifted them to you, would be proud! They are so beautiful! With those mossy tube spots, they are amazing! I loved it all! ❤ Thanks Aidan, for sharing these clips and keeping us entertained! ❤
Also do you have any road cut recommendations in the Carolinas, was originally planning to make a pit stop at little pine garnet mine but just with scheduling it won't work out so I was planning to do some roadcut pit stop on the 2 days I was planning to take on the way down.
I know some really good ones in Pennsylvania & Virginia, not so much around our area in South Carolina, it’s pretty flat here, I’m not sure on your route though
There’s a great book called fossil collecting in the mid-Atlantic states by jasper burns, it has a ton of great spots that parallel interstate 81 all the way through Virginia, my best road cut is along interstate 99 in Altoona Pennsylvania

Gold, gold, gold!!!🥵
Can't get enough of it.
I haven’t tried gold panning yet, looks like it would be a good time, pretty sweet agates there too
Thanks! I would definitely recommend panning, it's a lot of fun!

@diggingappalachia954 both Virgina and Pennsylvania would work out for me. My route down takes me through them.

have you ever found a gold nugget?
I haven't, this place would not produce that size of gold.
@@Ontario_Rockhound ok it's always nice to find glitter
@frenchcrystalhunter that is very true 👍
