I think the bottle design and tropes it conjures is why most people are stunned by the fragrance. Most folks are unaware that it's a GREEN fragrance. The bottle makes them assume it's going to be fiery, smoky, dry, beastly hot, cinnamon. And the middle notes that drive the scent are almost the polar opposite of that: mossy, ozonic, wet, fresh cucumber.
I love Fahrenheit, I could say is my favorite fragrance of all time, I just wish that they make an intense flanker closer to the original. Thanks Sebastian!

This was my favorite men's scent when it first came out when I was in high school. I've always found this scent to be the sexiest scent on a man. I only know of one man who ever wore it and I loved it on him, just like I loved the scent of bourbon on him. I remember the guys in my high school days wearing Drakkar Noir and I loathed that scent. This will likely always be my favorite men's scent. Thank you for the review Sebastian!

I can't explain why, it's like I had to get used to the notes, there's nothing else quite like it. I do think that you need a lot of confidence to pull it off. As you say, it's intriguing.

The Parfum is an ok cozy fragrance. But the EDT apart from the memories is unique and still to this day smells modern. Its a great great creation and definitely one of the best fragrances ever released.
Really great video. I'm 36 I love Fahrenheit dearly. Very close to my heart. The parfum I wore once didn't feel it was for me. The bottle, the scent just legendary
I have both farenheit and grey flannel. Grey Flannel reminds me of my uncle who used to dress really neat and clean cut. I associated the smell with being well dressed (casually). I got some farenheit when I was 19 (I'm 42 now 😂) and my girlfriend AND her sister wouldn't leave me be lol! That girlfriend is now my wife. She still loves when I wear farenheit.
There is a scotch whisky that I smelled in a whisky tasting gathering which was rather leathery and immediately reminded me of Fahrenheit. I was gifted Fahrenheit when I was about 16 by my aunts at the time boyfriend. I didn't like him very much, so my response to the fragrance was a bit odd, as I didn't even gave it a chance to like it for what it is. He gifted it to me because it was his all time favorite fragrance, so I "had" to dislike it because he liked it. Every time I smell this fragrance, or even by hearing about it, I think of him. Sadly, he passed away about two ot three years ago. Looking back now, I know I was an idiot just for being an idiot. I loved Farenheit, my dad used to wear it and it brings back so many memories, but I must say after buying a bottle a couple of years back, it really isn't the same. There must have been a reformulation. I recently got Amouage Portrayal man. The violet leaf in it really does merit comparison to Farenheit. I think I prefer Amouage Portrayal man now. I may not say that if I smelled a now vintage bottle of Farenheit.
Nobody mentions honey on fragrantica, but I get it. To me, the main differences between this and the original in order of effect: incense, vanilla, honey. Am I cray?

We must be about the same age, as we graduated high school the same year. Unlike you, I didn't care for Fahrenheit when it first came out. I remember thinking, "who would want to smell like petrol and band-aids?!" But I recently picked up a bottle of both the edp and the parfum, and I absolutely LOVE them both! Now I'm lamenting having missed the boat, back in the day...
Just like Polo Green will be around forever so will Fahrenheit because it is well known they are both masterpieces and both brands want future generations of MEN to enjoy them.
Thanks for a fun video as it brought back a lot or great memories. This girl wore Fahrenheit, Polo, and Drakkar Noir in the mid to late 1980’s. People were always surprised when I told them that I was wearing, I am going to have to try it again!
I'm the same age as you. I hated it growing up. Now that I'm full blown frag head I found a 50 ml for $20.00. I bought it expecting to hate it. Well 35 years later I'm finally a convert. It's not my favorite but I definitely respect it much more and very happy to have it my collection.
Ganymede by Marc Antoine Barrois is a great take on violet with touches of Mandarine, Immortalle, and minerals. I've been wearing Fahreheit edt since primary school days. Was one of my go to frags in High School. I prefer it over EDP concentration.
This takes me back to Senior year of HS .. my crush use to wear it❤❤, the formulation is definitely not the same , I was interested in purchasing a bottle for myself for nostalgia purposes and I was a little disappointed, he also wore Grey Flannel.... geesh!!! am I dating myself lol... BTW new subbie here🖐🏾
I tried the edt at the store but decided to purchase the parfum version online and I have to say, the new version is fantastic. The notes, the heat the smell is amazing! I will definitely buy another bottle soon, just in case it really becomes hard to find.
New Fahrenheit formulation from the end of 2019 is very potent. I have used it since the 2000s, so I know what I’m talking about. It is almost as good as it was a long time ago. Looks like the beast got back his teeth.
Both are just a step above most other designer fragrances. Better than most niche fragrances as well. I mean I can’t even believe how utterly timeless the original is.
Have you ever tried a vintage blue yellow and red boxed one? I have a modern, a vintage, and an EDP. Vintage is by far the best. Especially if you enjoy the smell of petrol. Which I do!
both are masterpieces. I got the Parfum and you can easily recognize the original DNA with a great sillage and projection. OMG is the words I said when I smelled the parfum. Demachy really did that. People that can't smell the original DNA in it are nose blinds .
Great review Sebastian. This is my favorite of all time. Using it since its creation. Sadly the newer batches are so light. Keep the great work and regards from Mexico.
The edt was always weak to me and would be gone within an hour or two on me which was so disappointing because I loved the smell. I’m really curious about the le parfum now.
The EDT when it first launched was beastly. But it's been watered down throughout the years. But when I first smelled it it would last for days on you.
I really think SA's should stop demonstrating Fahrenheit edt on paper. When I was just starting out, I thought the opening was horrid. The drydown is what sold it for me. Definitely need at least 3 full wearings to get a good feel for the stuff. A great comparison Seb.
Ha! I was just wondering which I would prefer. I'm just not sure about Fahrenheit...I don't love the diesel...but then it kind of gets stuck in my head
There is also a very nice summer version , the Fahrenheit Cologne . I own all 3 versions , a 200 ml of EDT made in April 2019 ( i've checked the batch-code ) that is very powerful and dense scent ( with 5 sprays i get 9-10 hours of longevity and very powerful projection in the first 4 hours ) , 3 bottles of LE PARFUM version that is just gorgeous and 2 bottles of 125 ml of COLOGNE version that is so good in very hot weather . To me , Fahrenheit is a very powerful fragrance, so if it was even stronger back in the 90s, i'm afraid to imagine how it was .
Oh my word bought this beauty when it was first released wore it to death, definitely going to investigate the flanker. Thanks for the great vid Sebastian
Seb it's also the case but the opposite way. Some fragrances are released in the state and not in France. For example the new Azzaro flankers like Wild Mint and Ginger lover are unavailable in France. Same with Nuit D'issey noir d'argent or Polaris. All these are not released in France.

Dior Fahrenheit is "the Parfum" Is a piece of art, when you think about scents, is make part of the emblem of the Parfum world for me. Like JPG Le Male Edt or YSL Kourus 😅 Recently I buy the Parfum version of Fahrenheit, and is amazing 💯🔥🔥🔥
I am wondering if Farenhigh has lots of mechanic fans...I tried the original and is 50% gasoline combine with violets and grease... I didn't like it at all! So if you dont like the gasoline smell RUN!
I'm old enough that I've owned the 88-89 Fahrenheit New in box...those iterations of Fahrenheit never had that gas smell...I'm not sure when it changed to have the gas smell but the originals did not...I still love the current iteration but..it's nowhere near what the original was and I've had 1988-89,2006,2007,2011,2017and 2019..if it had the same smell as it use to it would sell ever better than it does today.
Luckily here in Buenos Aires you can find Le Parfum in every perfumery shop at a really good price, seems like price for this one hasn't been updated. Hope they don't discontinue this one, it's ony of my favourites ever.
Hi Sébastien, I've been looking for a signature scent". Ex boss used Caron EDT. When he entered a room you knew it justvfrom the aroma. I tried it, love it but no sillage for me. Tried Sarah Horowitz private parfumer in CA. I was better off using drug store scents. Then Sir, I found you. I enjoy watching and learning. ETD, ETP, Extract...I'm learning. I've made 2 purchases based on your recommendation that once again have no lasting power on me. Whats wrong with me? Dior Homme Intense and Maitre et Gantier Can you help me please?
Chemistry, skin chemistry sad situation. Look into more intense fragrances. Look for my Beast-Mode fragrances reviews and find stuff that sounds good and buy samples to test! :)
keep it up! Dior is the best designer house for me! great review as always. more violet leave frags and more Iris frag reviews please! Thanks! Almairaic and Polge are my favorite noses!
@@Shadesof when I tried it on a card, I came back 15 min later to try it on skin. Unfortunately when it smells better on a card, than it does on me - I might need to skip it 😂
50 Shades of 40 I haven’t, though I assume it smells the same on clothes as it does on the card? I typically spray both on skin and clothes (yes, I’m a bit of an over-sprayer these days 😅)
@@Shadesof ah, just remembered. If you like Fahrenheit Parfum, also see if you can try Cartier L'envol. There's quite a few crossover notes, and in my opinion it's a bit like a daytime Fahrenheit. Super clean.
The Parfume is nicer IMPO than the original. Smoother and much less of that⛽️ gasoline smell with more of a suede than a harsher leather. Just much better to my nose but I like those gourmands with some vanilla.
You should definitely try Fahrenheit 32, heavenly, amazing unfortunately though it's very hard to get even here in Europe and am not sure if its still available but if you manage please do a review about it
Bourbon vanilla doesnt mean that its boozy, Bourbon is not Whiskey in this case it just means its vanilla from Île Bourbon (la reunion) and its the best vanilla! Bourbon Whiskey is called Bourbon cause it came from Bourbon County! 😃 love u anyway
U can read what I am thinking of Mr Sebastian !.. really I feel a desire to own the edt .. but is it still strong like the past ?.. or I should to looking for the perfume one ?.. any way many thanks for the great episode ..
What i get from the bottle (Le Parfum), in the opening I can smell a bitter/sweet mandarin, like an aged mandarin that has losts all the citric and freshy component. That, plus the boozy accord, for me its like an mandarine liquor. Later the addictive vainilla, such an amazing frag.
Yeah, too bad they don't market all their fragrances here in the US. Another reviewer clued me in on Dior's Jules so I got obsessed about getting it, which I eventually did.
I have a 75ml bottle and I can't tell which bottle I have because it was given to me. The bottles are very similar, the bottle says parfum (not le Parfum) on the bottom. Anybody know how I can check?

I own all 3 versions , a 200 ml of EDT made in April 2019 ( i've checked the batch-code ) that is very powerful and dense scent ( with 5 sprays i get 9-10 hours of longevity and very powerful projection in the first 4 hours ) , 3 bottles of LE PARFUM version that is just gorgeous and 2 bottles of 125 ml of COLOGNE version that is so good in very hot weather .
To me , Fahrenheit is a very powerful fragrance, so if it was even stronger back in the 90s, i'm afraid to imagine how it was .
Does the edt have a strong gasoline note??
Oh my word bought this beauty when it was first released wore it to death, definitely going to investigate the flanker. Thanks for the great vid Sebastian
Seb it's also the case but the opposite way.
Some fragrances are released in the state and not in France.
For example the new Azzaro flankers like Wild Mint and Ginger lover are unavailable in France. Same with Nuit D'issey noir d'argent or Polaris. All these are not released in France.
I like to do a spray one old school petro Fahrenheit and an opposing spray of DHI. Gas , Lipstick and Leather! ha!
Great idea! I'm gonna try that. Can't believe I never paired the two, as I own both and enjoy experimenting with layering.
I've been a big fan of the juice for more than 2 decades. This is a true masterpiece. This scent will never die.
I hope it doesn’t die like YSL kills all their classic juices!!
Sebastian how many times in this Video you said that this is not available and did not get released in the States ! Ok ! We get it :-)
You write an annoying comment then you thumb yourself up? LOL! I love that self pat in the back!
@@ThePerfumeGuy Sebastian you should be open for a little tough comments from your viewers, subscribers aswell. No harm meant Sir ! You just revealed your age in this video lol ! With all due respect to you sir you are senior. So sir respect to you ! Peace !! Regards from India.
Dior Fahrenheit is "the Parfum"
Is a piece of art, when you think about scents, is make part of the emblem of the Parfum world for me.
Like JPG Le Male Edt or YSL Kourus 😅
Recently I buy the Parfum version of Fahrenheit, and is amazing 💯🔥🔥🔥
Yes I agree. Thankfully it's easier to get compared to DHP! :)
Awesome review of both Fahrenheits. Thank you.
I am wondering if Farenhigh has lots of mechanic fans...I tried the original and is 50% gasoline combine with violets and grease... I didn't like it at all! So if you dont like the gasoline smell RUN!
The last time i smelled Fahrenheit was maybe back in 94 or 95 and now im willing to go smell them both and also the absolute
I cant identify notes but this gasoline from the edt is addictive to me. Also using it wen going to sleep.
Hi Sébastien,
I've been looking for a signature scent".
Dior Homme Intense and
Maitre et Gantier
Can you help me please?
Chemistry, skin chemistry sad situation. Look into more intense fragrances. Look for my Beast-Mode fragrances reviews and find stuff that sounds good and buy samples to test! :)
keep it up! Dior is the best designer house for me! great review as always.
more violet leave frags and more Iris frag reviews please! Thanks! Almairaic and Polge are my favorite noses!
I just order one I just need Dior homme parfum in my collection but it’s hard to find
My all time favorite fragrance for its unique smell.
They are grey flannel son and grandson...
Omg the number of people who would disagree with me about the cucumber vibe are COUNTLESS !!!
I love Le Parfum, but it doesn't work with my skin chemistry :(
Przemek Czaicki too bad. I love it on men. Such a macho smell🥰🥰🥰🔥🔥🔥
@@Shadesof when I tried it on a card, I came back 15 min later to try it on skin. Unfortunately when it smells better on a card, than it does on me - I might need to skip it 😂
Przemek Czaicki bummer. Have you tried on your clothes ?
I totally agree!
You should definitely try Fahrenheit 32, heavenly, amazing unfortunately though it's very hard to get even here in Europe and am not sure if its still available but if you manage please do a review about it
You know I never got to sample 32! :(
@@ThePerfumeGuy I had it. Didn't work on my skin.
Gave it away.
Love the Farenheight range lasts all day on me
Wonderful range👍
Why does the edt give me an instant splitting headache? Synthetics?
Bourbon vanilla doesnt mean that its boozy, Bourbon is not Whiskey in this case it just means its vanilla from Île Bourbon (la reunion) and its the best vanilla! Bourbon Whiskey is called Bourbon cause it came from Bourbon County! 😃 love u anyway
Is it creamier?
U can read what I am thinking of Mr Sebastian !.. really I feel a desire to own the edt .. but is it still strong like the past ?.. or I should to looking for the perfume one ?.. any way many thanks for the great episode ..
What i get from the bottle (Le Parfum), in the opening I can smell a bitter/sweet mandarin, like an aged mandarin that has losts all the citric and freshy component. That, plus the boozy accord, for me its like an mandarine liquor. Later the addictive vainilla, such an amazing frag.
It's absolutely timeless 👌 even after all these years its still fantastic and still one of the best worldwide mass distributed easy to get fragrances.
Haven't smelled the EDT but have and love the Parfum version!!❤️❤️❤️ 10/10 masterpiece!! Right up there with DHP
Le parfum only 75 ml
Eau de toilette 100 ml
if you have the bottle 75 ml so you got the perfum
@@ouhabnadjib7324 thank you!
If you like Fahrenheit, definitely check out Wind wood by mancera.
I should.
