Since they've never used it, I suspect it was just there in case they wanted to do a brand collab (which would likely have an end date specified in the agreement) Saying it's a FOMO tactic when we're 22 months into the game without it ever being activated is a bit silly.
You do realize that old links can go down. Its likely meant to be a fallback message years down the road when the qr code banners get taken down from Nintendo's servers to make room for something else.
I have scanned some QR codes that I am assuming are all that were released, but I’m not 100% sure about them. A video showing all of them would be helpful just in case there were some that I missed.
Honestly, we kinda have no clue whether they'll use the expiration thing. Splatoon 2 ver. 5.2.0 back in 2020 made preparations to shut down SplatNet 2, and it's still running. I suspect it was something they thought they'd add in just in case they wanted it later (often it's easier to support stuff like that from day 1 than to tack it on later) or they are planning expirations for the relatively distant future. But Nintendo isn't the most predictable company, so who knows?
I think having a video about all the QR code rewards would be quite helpful, as I know I'm missing one of the special banners from a Splatoon event. It's probably most likely one of the banners from a Live performance or something, as I have already collected the rest of the celebration QR codes prior to this new update information. It'll be disappointing if the rewards do expire, but atleast we will be able to look forward to title and other items. Splat gang!
I don't QR codes because it's dangerous for bad people to steal your information when you are online. I just do things in Splatoon by getting the gear in game and leave it at that. #Splatgangs.
You're misinformed. By scanning the official QR codes from Nintendo within your SplatNet 3 app, there's literally no way anyone can steal your information.
Please make a video of all the QR Codes. I would love that and Splat Gang. 🇵🇷
Nintendo making them expire is a terrible idea but it’s nintendo lol
Same energy as Challenge Maps schedules, so I'm not surprised. FOMO is powerful tool vs. the Japanese audience...
@@malcovich_games yeah but challenge maps where events, these are cosmetics that were never limited before

@@OrimaJam the items from the Switch news, I would consider them limited... since the news that gave us the items get renoved after a while.

Inkpedia (idk how to spell it sorry) has a list of all of them I think
you can find all of them on the wiki
@@keikoKitty_ I believe that is where I went, but I’ll double check that later. Thanks!

@@SplatBen oh. Well that's what my family told me, but everyone has their own opinions. I don't have Splatnet 3 unfortunately.
That's good advice for QR codes in general. Never ever scan QR codes from unofficial sources.
@@kikitanda4024 I took an online safety course 2 years ago. It teaches us what to do and what not to do when going online.
Where are the QR codes?
They are on the Nintendo Twitter and on the splatoon wiki/inkipedia
Letting them expires is a terrible idea Please make a video of all the QR codes please
Can you do a tutorial on how fo set up the Nintendo switch online app please.
